S= what happened ??
Samrat looked at his friend worriedly, just now he was feeling embarrassed at the way she was rambling at gunji on his phone and trying to arrange their meeting at her house.
And then towards the end of that phone call nupur's expression had changed .. and then she had gasped..
What had happened ?
She wasn't even answering him , and that look on her face was.. it reminded him of some thing .. of something terrible..
With a jolt sam realised where he had seen that look before..
Just days after nupsi lost her siblings at that delhi masscare she had returned back here .. n for weeks at stretch she had worn this terrified look.. not sleeping not eating anything not even talking to anyone..
It had taken sam weeks to extract some normal response from her .. n now suddenly it looked as if those days were back...
He held her from her shoulders and shook her..
Nupur as if coming out of a trance , looked at sam.
N= what??
S= what happened to you??
Nupur looked at her best friend , the fear on his face was tormenting . what did she say to answer her ?? how would she even begin to explain about mayank??
How would sam ever be able to take in the events of that night that killed half of her family???
And mayank had strictly prohibited her from sharing that info with anybody, lest that person's life is endangered too ..
N=actually gunjan just told me that she had a brother.. who is coming down here with here with her.. i was thinking what will he do when he finds out what a dumb git u are?? Will he beat u and break ur nose ???
Saying so nupur smiled at sam mischeiviously..
Sam stared at her blankly for few seconds .. and then..
S= ARE U INSANE????? I would have died of fear back there .. DONT U DONT U EVER PLAY SUCH GAMES WITH ME AGAIN .. DID U GET THAT ???
Saying so samrat got up n left nupur alone in her bedroom...

G= u have some serious explaining to do brother? What the hell was the reason u lived away from us???
M= how did u guess it was me??
G= ur eyes ?? i never forgot the spark in them .. its so much like that of dad.. he always had this wonder filled eyes when he used to look at me and so did u .. moreover once i made the connection it wasn't hard to recoganize the rest of ur features too..
M= my eyes remind u of dad??
Mayank asked looking at her side ways.. so many people had said that he looked exactly like his dad. But it had been only gunjan with these eyes comment ..
G= yup.. bhai is.. is dad still . is he still alive too? U came back to use . does he ?
Mayank applied the brakes to his vintage bug suddenly..it was as if he lost control on reality for few seconds..he hadn't expected this question and he had no idea how to answer it now ...
Her eyes were filled with hope?? How did he tell her that their father was alive till last year but then he was brutallymurdered in the famous delhi encounter last year with 27 civiliians???
How does one tell a thing like that to someone??
As fast as the spark of hope had come to gunjan's eyes , it got extinguished .
G= he is dead then ??
M= yes .. i am sorry..
G= but u lived with him didn't u??
M= i did .. he died last year .. in a freak accident..
G= what sort of accident??
M= gunjan i really don't want to get into all that..
G= why not.. I do.. i have spend years as an orphan n i suddenly come to know that all those years my father and my brother were alive .. how do u think i am supposed to feel?? U owe me an explanation?? Pls tell me everything , the truth , even if u think the truth of his death will terrify me , plz tell me.. it will be better then no answers . i feel so empty without them
M= gunjan sometimes not knowing answers is safer..

Gunjan didn't reply , she was having a hard time hiding her tears .
Mayank started the engine again..
M= so who is this friend of urs??
G= samrat.. and nupur.. u remember when u met me the first time today?? She was in class then and coughing like mad .. back there when i was talking to sam i came to know that she suffered from an allergic attack . so we r going to see her..
Mayank didn't reply , he tried his best to hide his face expressions .. tried his best not to let his sister know that something was amiss..
PRESENT >>
Samrat froze on the last stair. Gunjan's shriek had been totally heart wrenching .. everything in him had come undone in that instant , his head that was throbbing as if someone had wrecked a wooden box full of bricks on his head , was now on fire.. by every passing second it was becoming more and more difficult for him to keep his eyes open and stay linked to reality. He swayed on the spot .
Nupur gasped , gunjan .. she could see her now .. few feet to their right , gunjan was tied to a pillar just like she was upstairs n their was a man , with a dirty matt of hair pulling at her clothes n mocking her, tormenting her every passing second ..
All this she could see on the mirror placed in front of her.. the nager that blazed inside her in that one second was beyond any describable entity ..she just wanted to move forward and rip that man limb from limb , she moved forward to do just the same , when suddenly loads of things happened at once ...
Another shriek from gunjan , samrat swayed on the stair again n almost fell forward , was caught n supported by nupur against the wall .. the next second the man was shrieking like a caged animal ..
Someone else had entered the picture ..
