If we could manage to create a healthy discussion by comparing and contrasting our likes and dislikes in Arjun and Mohit's acting, we might have added something to enhancing our critical skills in analyzing a scene. But, why do that? We're happy with repeating our standard topics day in and day out, isn't it?
Yeah, I think that would be really interesting. Basically, after reading your post - I was again thinking of what exactly a discussion is.. compared to what we're doing now at the forum..Its true that we are basically just agreeing with each other or disagreeing or we tell what we like about a particular scene, dialogue etc. What you're talking about, if I understood correctly, is more about a critical analysis of an actor - well, atleast that would be interesting for me anyway!
In my view, you just cant watch a serial and comment on it and tell what you like and what you dont link about it; because in order to that you need a scale type of thing..to relativate your comments..Atleast Ive realised that lately..

If you just watch ONE serial in your entire life and you dont have any clue about other serials - what can you say about? Atleast 50 % of the discussions will be less..PLUS..all the serials are mostly "realistic" (they're not about aliens, right?!) so, you ll automatically start comparing..because you sort of need atleast two values so taht you can say which you like more..I mean..even the fact taht you like a serial is just because you dont like others - compared to them! Same goes for acting - if you cant compare, you surely dont have a favourite actor!

Even I would find it pretty interesting to know what exactly you like about an actor..and what not..I mean, if you talk about pure acting. The only thing which is, in my view, a bit difficult is that you can only compare if two actors play the exact same role..Then you might actually compare..
Of course, this is never the case. Also, another point is that, you can only do that if you're a neutral observer..And I really do think that its very hard to remain neutral if you have your favourites! Let me tell you why : one of the reasons is that you generally understand your fav characters much more..and right now - I'm assuming that there must be only 20% or even less ppl who watch the entire serial..rather than watching only parts with their favs..so, you might have different interpretations of a character, which will of course always influence the way of acting!

So, basically..if you want to have a discussion about acting...you clearly need to give a proper interpretation of every scene, every character. So that people know exactly what the "guide lines" are..and then depending on that you can tell exactly what you like about his or her acting and what could be better..
Of course this all is for everyone..not only for the people who are not fan of the resp. couple...but also for the people who have the same fav couple..because everyone sees every character with a different point of view...tahts why...but again - ofcourse its more easier to discuss with "your" group.

Then, one more thing which I observed in this forum is that.. the "bashing"/"jealousy" thing..
The main problem for me is that if someone disagrees just for the sake of it, that really irritates me. I dont mind if someone didnt like a particular scene - but I want reasons for it! I would love to know why exactly did you feel that way? If people just say "Ewww..that was soo boring and disgusting" - I will definitely term that as bashing because for everything there must be a reason,right? If someone says " Okay, this was really boring, cause they were just arguing for a couple of mins and none of their problems have been resolved..what a waste of time" - I respect that opinion and I would disagree and bring up my arguments. ofcourse my intention is NOT to convince the other person, but also to open a new perspective for a particular sequence!

Yes, the forum is full of "bashing" these days, not only these days, it has been like that for a loong while. And I guess it wont change!
My main problem in this forum is that you are no more allowed to talk honestly about a non-fav-couple. I can understand that in a way. Yes, it is true that we are kind of protective towards our fav. couple.
I myself am a bit sensitive. So, even the way of writing things can influence me..and I ll call it as bashing! But I guess im not the only one..Im not THAT sensitive..but if someone puts all these "ewww"-emoticons and the post itself has no good content...then i ll defo call it bashing..cause there should be a proper discussion right?

If someone just writes... man..that scene was soo boring..I hate that character...why didnt they show more of the other character.. Its like, Okay, I respect your opinion. But why dont you give reasons which made you form your opinion? And then ofcourse if you say that they wasted time on a particular sequence - they shouldnt have done that..Okay, thats again a personal opinion. But I would rather like to read what exactly they should have done with THAT particular scene and NOT by just telling to have shown more scenes for the other couple or so - yes, I will have the feeling that this person is just too egoistic..and wants to have loadsss of scene for a couple, and the other one not to be shown.

i do agree with u for most things.
some members don't act maturely because they love their jodi too much but that's not right to do. As far as I've seen, if there is a topic if about sajan nd if sajan fan bring mayur for no reason at all, it's where the bashing and everything start from and i think that's the reason for topic being closed. I kno, sometimes i feel like giving my pov in few topics which hav comparison, why i like them or why i don't but it gets closed bacause of some fans who take to much seriously or if the topic is too much rude.

i don't think that mods are biased, they just try to solve our problem, i 've seen equal amount of topic closed made by both fans so i don't think that that's true.

Sonya .. Hats off, as mads says u have guts to put forward ur views in the most logical manner, but then this was the most needed one too.

Agree with u that people need to grow and understand the meaning of Criticism. I will first request the Mods to remove the word "Constructive Criticism" from the rules, because constructive Criticism means nothing but bashing.. Criticism means analysis, evaluation and pointing the positives and negatives along with the scope of improvement ... and i have never seen that in most of the recent threads... that what restricts me now to give my opinions to most of these threads.

As already expressed by most old members the main reason for me to get addicted to this forum was the way in which members used to analysis and discuss each scene which got me hooked to the show...

I agree criticism is absolutely necessary for a actors growth, but i would never agree to a method of criticism where u make a VMs and degrade an actor just to remove frustrations or to prove ur point or for just for the sake of it...

Now coming to criticism SG/Monaya..I will disagree with people who say we do not criticize.. We have done it many times may be not outright but that does not make us blind to their shortcomings, it's just that we have mostly put that indirectly thru our post. May be the method is different. Although i am not a fan of MN, but it has never restricted me to share my appreciations when required.. But then in the end its understanding and more so the tolerance which matters...

Just read ur previous topic and i agree, AB is a great actor, he made me cry also but i guess mohit had a upperhand on devdas coz his paro was in front of him, it brought out the real characterism of the scene 😳

And about the MODs i think its just wen a topic gets too intense they have to take action and anything against or in comparison to mayur is always a world war so jst have to be careful with that!

i will only like to say........if you can add that both mayur and sajan fans doing wrong.....it will give you better effects..........because dear no one has so much time to read the whole post ........and from the first post......it seems you are at mn fans back which you are not.....and your last paragraph is rude towards annie while your sentiments are good...........you wanna change the condition of forum which i should tell you is a very impossible job.........

dear i will not blame dts for anything........they need to control the whole forum.......dear if i myself cant control a post............how difficult it would be for them to control the whole forum .......and we come and say they are biased and what not........they are not.........its just they stick to rules........and i actually love all the mods here.............

and i would like to share my views on one more thing..........dear this not mjht forum.........atleast not from the day i enter..........it a mixture of two forums together............it is sajan forum + mayur forum mixture...........a time will soon come when none of the fight will take place.........only appreciation topics will be there.........and mn fans will never talk sg fans on forum.........same goes with sg fans........if they are friends they will talk on cc or through pms but not here for sure........and one more thing if you have created that arjun is more good........the topic would have been closed than too.....it seems you never look at comparisons threads........the rule is same for all...........
