Hey naima, i am so sorry actually i have done legal research on this matter a little while ago and there were interesting facts and figures i wanted to share with you guys but unfortunately i can't find that research file man. oh gosh i was soo excited and everything got spoiled.
Coming to the point man, i agree and share similar sentiments as you do, it is a long debated issue, question which goes unanswered and unresolved.
Alot of us might think i know the answer to this, it is because our elders have done, thats what we all are socialised into, this happens in our households, schools, workplaces everywhere, women are looked down upon,. always considered as the inferior gender.
They are even deemed professionally incompetent consequently paid less, even though and usually they have better grades and potential man. These are all our beliefs and assumptions about why women are alwasy taunted and blamed, but these are only are assumptions and truth can't lie on such mere assumptions and beliefs. These beliefs may be true but only partially, there is something bigger or more basic behind this issue. Point of views yes they are the core reason why but why do people have such point of views needs to be studied deeper and resolved.
This is not the case with India, subcontinent but even here in uk and US as well, gender discrimination is sooo common man.
Sad as it is with changing times, rarely people have changed their way of thinking. Why can't we be open minded, more accepting and tolerant is an old much debated yet again unsolved matter.
i hope and i am proud of you for raising this matter in the forum and i got an opportunity to read everyone 's almost simlar views. This shows the youth of today is well educated, alive , alert and pumped up to make a difference.
I SALUTE YOU ALL.
THANKS TO MJHT for raising this matter and showing women as someone strong, out there to make a difference.
NUPUR has been the prime example for me, i am sooo proud of this girl, though she has been shown to be sooo stupid many atimes but she is strong, steadfast and fights speaks up for what she believes in.
she has always stood up for her siblings, bravo nupur.
Thankyou so much for bearing with me all.

hey honey thanks alot but i can't find that research file man or else i could have given you gusy more details. may be some other time man, hopefully.
I agree about nupz, she is such an inspiration. She carries the true spirit and courage with her. She stands up and fights for what she beileves in, she showed this soo beautifully when she stood up for herself too when mayur fought after the talent parade. There is soo much depth and more to her man, sad it is not used or showed as it could and should be.
she even has the charm of cheering up people like her meena kumari dialogue was sooo sweet, yesterday our doll nupz was back man and so was the real genuine mayank.

^^Don't worry Senny, I've added a few statistics here to back up our point😊.

in NO way should society point their fingers at women (like they did to Diya!)...men should also be punished!..women have equal rights!

and what RV did was disgusting...there r people like him in the real world..i'm just shocked..would they think the same for their sisters, daughters and mothers?

Here are some interesting research statistics to show that females are not inferior!:

-In the UK, medicine is the most competitive subject. 60% of medical students are now female!..this is such a huge percentage...honestly! ..and this trend is shifting towards 70!!! in a few years we shall see more female doctors!

-GCSEs are a national exam taken in the UK, every student HAS to take this exam- it determines which university one will go to and affects one's entire career . And what do results suggest- girls have topped in EVERY subject (they are most likely to receive an A* grade aka a distinction in a subject AND have a greater pass rate!) ..read the article..its a well know
http://news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/uk/newsid_2209000/2209179.stm

-Also check out the average IQ (intelligent quotient) of females compared to males of that age group- google this!

-if you want more info. GOGGLE it

Excatly, women are more hard working and get better grades tahn men, its a proved fact.

Google is a persons best friend 😆
Kanya thank you so much for these, i hope now people will see the potential a female has and what goals she can reach in life. Hopefully now females will take a stand and show the world taht girls CAN do everything a guy can.

In my school, im happy to see that the girls have decided to do something about the sexisms, now we see girls in engineering, techology and I.T, whcih were previously known as "boy" subjects, i hope every school stands up to discrimination and it is soon sorted.\
Thnaks again for commenting and sharing.

i agree. its yet another form of gender discrimination, an issue which to a great extent is global. its really disappointing how half of humanity is facing such severe discrimination everyday and yet no action is taken. do we ever come across a politician talking about gender bias....there'll be "better" issues to discuss in the parliament like caste, poverty, n even global warming, but the problems of half of the voting population don't even get the last spot on the list. WHY?? n the worst part is that instead of trying to contribute in improving the situation, mass media like television is somehow promoting gender related prejudice. many of u may disagree to this as tv shows these days seem to be very women-oriented with always a female being the protagonist. but on careful observation it can be realised that the way women r portrayed is really prejudist in a very subtle way. for eg. the heroine of the show, who is shown to be liked by all will always be clad in salwaar kameez. where as the vamp wiil be wearing short dresses, heavy make-up n jewellery. WHAT ON EARTH DOES THIS MEAN?? GOOD GIRLS MUST WEAR SUITS N THOSE WHO WEAR SKIRT OR DO TOO MUCH MAKE_UP ARE BAD?? n this is jus one example. n in this topic i think MJHT is no less. i think its quite a male chauvenist show. i knw that now dia is taking stance but y the hell does she need body gaurds?? 4 men there to protect her without which she cannot stand up for herself?? Also, MJHT is a college with sports but HAVE WE SEEN ANY GIRL TAKIN PART IN ANY SPORT?? best way they r shown to participate in sports is by cheerleading. Actually be it mjht or any other show, the list is never ending n its very unfortunate.

okay! guess i've written a lot. actually i'm really feminist by nature, n naima u seem to have plucked the wrong chor lol. i can go on for forever on this topic n still not feel satisfied. i think gender bias is the most unfortunate, universal, n IGNORED form of discrimination.

thnx for this kanya. i may sound pessimistic but i don't think this means anything. biologically , more females are born than males, that means women comprise more than half of the world population....then obviously there shud be more women in any profession than males. but the imp fact is that among these medical students....who goes on to become the best cardio or neuro surgeon of the country??? now WILL THAT PERSON BE FEMALE?? i'll be the happiest person if its otherwise, but most probably the answer is NO. no doubt that women are progressing and have set foot in every field....but are they able to reach not third, not second, THE FIRST POSITION?? i'm sorry but i don't think this is "ALLOWED".

Hey naima i am so glad to be able to help and raise awareness in any way possible. I lovee your topic and spirit. Its easier said than done all the time but believing, thinking and speaking up is one of the first and vital steps man. yeah dia would do that. nupz would have done it on that day only had mayank not stopped her, hehe.
Thankyou for understanding each point so beautifully and evaluating it really well.
