Part 49:
Cut to: Excel College – Canteen
Samrat is upset about Gunjan's strange behaviour and is planning on having a confrontation with Dia. Benji is trying to calm him down.
Benji: dekh Samrat, aisa bhi toh ho sakta hai ki Gunjan ka bas mood kharab ho?
Samrat: bekaar ki baat mat kar Benji. Main Gunjan ko jaanta hu. Wo bina wajah itna sab kabhi nahi bolti.
Benji: toh ab tu kya karega?
Samrat: (reflects) maine Dia ko bataya tha ke main Gunjan se pyar karta hu. Usne kuch ajeeb tarike se behave kiya tha. Tab toh maine itna socha nahi par ab lagta hai…
Benji: lagta hai ke saare fasad ki jad wohi hai. Par dude, Dia ko jhaadega toh mujhe kuch nahi, tujhe hi farak padega. Teri purani dost hai yaar.
Samrat: haan dost hai. Par agar dost hokar wo aisa kuch kar sakti hai toh main bhi kar sakta hu. Aur waise bhi Benji, wo mere liye Gunjan se zyada important nahi hai. Shayad koi bhi nahi hai.
Benji makes a face.
Benji: main bhi nahi hoon na. Mera naam Gunjan jo nahi hai.
Samrat nudges him with a smile.
Samrat: tu toh mera yaar hai, sansaar hai, sanskar hai –
Benji: shukar hai dildaar nahi bola.
They both laugh and high five each other, which Gunjan, standing at a distance, sees.
Gunjan: lagta hai Samrat ko meri baat ka bahut zyada bura nahi laga. Thank you bhagwaan, I hope wo hamesha khush rahe aur jinse wo pyar karta hai, unhi ke saath rahe. Bhale hi unme main nahi aati..
Cut to: Excel College – Corridor
Annie is talking on the phone with Dia, in a cheery mood.
Annie: its time to celebrate babes! You never lose do you?
Dia is at a designer outlet, finalizing her outfit for Miss Aha's wedding.
Dia: of course I don't Annie. But are you sure Gunjan-Samrat are over?
Annie: dead sure. Maine khud suni unki confrontation. "Main kisi ke beech nahi aana chahti…" you know the kind of melodrama.. Miss Morena itni adarshwadi, apni behan ka pyar thode hi cheenegi.
Dia: wow Annie. Tumne yeh sab kaise seekha?
Annie: tum hoti toh tum bhi seekh jaati. Bahut maza aaya. Samrat ke baar baar bulane par bhi nahi ruki woh. Hum sirf dost hai kehke chali gayi. Meri maano toh yeh dosti bhi ab sirf naam ki hi rahegi. College akar toh dekho.
Dia: filhaal toh dresses select kar rahi hu babes, Samrat ko thoda wait karne do. Puri life mere saath hi toh rehna hai.
Annie: of course Dia.
Dia: bye Annie. Thanks!
She keeps the phone and picks up a jade colour outfit to try on, with a smug smile.
Cut to: Evening - Shopping Mall
The dynamic quadruplet of Mayank, Nupur, Uday and Vatsala has arrived at the mall. Both girls are super excited about shopping; an excitement only girls can experience and understand. Uday has also been bitten by the shopping bug. Mayank looks a little lost.
Uday: Nupur pehle tumari dress kharidte hai.
Nupur is a little surprised and Uday adds shyly.
Uday: actually Vatsu ko bhai behan ka pyar bahut cute lagta hai. Uska koi bhai nahi hai na. Aur mere paas toh teen teen behne hai!
Mayank looks disinterested and Uday notices him suddenly.
Uday: arey haan Mayank hai na! Vatsu, Mayank ko bhai kyun nahi bana leti?
Mayank jumps at the mention of his name.
Nupur: arey waah Uday bhaiya, yeh toh badi achi baat kahi aapne! Kyun Mayank, kaisa laga idea?
Mayank: bahut hi bura. Aur hum yaha Raksha bandhan celebrate karne aye hai ya shopping karne?
Vatsala: oh haan! Chalo na Uday, Nupur ki dress se pehle mere liye earrings kharidte hai.
Nupur: Vatsala please. Pehle kapde kharidne chahiye ya accessories? Thoda toh dimaag lagayo. Uday bhaiya aap boliye na.
Uday is caught between the 2 girls and looks more confused than always. Mayank decides to intervene just in time to stop a major verbal duel.
Mayank: Nupur! Ek kaam karte hai, hum dono tumhari dress kharidte hai. Aur in dono ko earrings kahridne dete hai. Thik hai na Uday?
Uday: lekin pickpockets..
Nupur: offo Uday bhaiya, aap hanuman chalisa japte hue jaaiye. Koi chor, bhoot ya ladki apke paas nahi aayenge. Bye!
The two pairs part ways and go in opposite directions.
Nupur: jaan chuti by God!
Mayank: mujhe thanks kehna chahiye tumhe. Nahi toh yeh namune puri mall ki bheed yahi ikatha kar dete.
Nupur's eyes are fixed on something and she gives him a you-are-so-sweet sugar laden response.
Nupur: thank you Mayank!
Mayank: (surprised) jhagda bhi nahi kiya, thank you bhi bol diya, aur wo bhi itni mithaas ke saath?
Nupur: arey main toh hamesha hi tumse pyar se baat karti hu. (She looks at something again.)
Mayank: yeh idhar udhar kya dekh rahi ho?
Nupur: Mayank zara dekho toh wo pendant. By God! Kitnaaaa pyara hai. Chalo na dekhke aate hai.
Mayank: kya? Abhi toh tum Vatsala ko daant rahi thi ke pehle kapde kharidne chahiye aur ab khud hi –
Nupur: tumhe Vatsala ki har baat badi yaad rehti hai?
Mayank: uski nahi Nupur, tumhari.
Nupur blushes a little.
Nupur: toh chalo na udhar.
Mayank: jee maharani, chaliye.
Cut to: Excel College – Library
It is late and Gunjan is spending more time in college just to avoid going home till Nupur is back. She doesn't want to be alone as she is sure that will make her cry. Trying hard to get lost in her favourite books, she is still unable to get the thought of Samrat out of her mind. "Par sabse zyada magic pata hai kisme hai?" "Kisme?" "Chashmish ke chashme me! Aur chashmish ki un aankhon me jo abhi bhi mujhe dekh rahi hai."
"Hiee Gunjan!" Gunjan snaps out of her thoughts and looks up. She is surprised to see CJ, for they hadn't ever interacted much.
Gunjan: hie CJ..
CJ: tum itni der tak yaha?
Gunjan: tum bhi toh ho.
CJ sits down on a chair and keeps her bag on the table.
CJ: main toh ghar jaane hi wale thi. Mayank ko dhund rahi thi – Shukla ne kuch notes diye the, wohi lene the. Par wo mila nahi toh socha Nupur se le lu. Tumhe pata hai woh kaha hai?
Gunjan: di aur Mayank toh shayad shopping karne gaye hai.
CJ: really? Usne bataya bhi nahi.
Gunjan: wo –
CJ: acha anyway, main chalti hu.
She walks out of the library, feeling a little strange.
CJ: Mayank aur shopping? Never thought that would happen.
Cut to: Shopping Mall
Nupur's eyes glitter at the sight of all the jewellery. She had always been an accessory lover. As she asks for this and that, even the disinterested shopper in Mayank cant help but be affected by her infectious innocence.
Mayank: ek shortcut batayu Nupur?
Nupur: batao na kya? Yeh chaaro le lu hai na?
Mayank: uh huh. Poori dukaan hi le lo. Dobara yaha aane ka darr bhi nahi rahega mujhe!
Nupur: chup karo Mayank.
She picks up a little chain with a beautiful blue pendant and tries to wear it. But the chain being a little slippery, she is unable to latch it.
Mayank wants to help but doesn't offer to.
Nupur: dekh kya rahe ho? Help bhi karo! Ya phir uske liye bhi koi muhrat dekhna padta hai?
Mayank makes a face and tries to latch the chain for her. His fiddling fingers are on her neck and they cause Nupur a tickling sensation. She giggles and frets.
Mayank: arey? Itna hilogi toh kaise pehnaunga?
Nupur: (giggling some more) sorry Mayank. Gudgudi ho rahi thi.
Mayank nods his head in exasperation and tries again.
"Toh aakhir tum dono saath ho hi gaye na."
Mayank and Nupur turn around when they hear the sudden voice. Standing in front of them is Sandhya.
