Chapter 43

Since her father had called her yesterday after the dinner, Ishani had got hope that they must have been mistaken eight years ago . Her father was not sure about his new theory, but he had promised Ishani that he would investigate more and apologized for not doing it earlier. Ishani thought about the conversation she had with her father, his word giving her hope.

FLASHBACK

Ishani was sitting in the living room, her thoughts on what Disha had told her . But her thoughts were interrupted when she heard her cellphone ringing without checking the called id she took up :

" Ishani Ranveer Vaghela " Ishani said
" Betha , it's me " Ishani was surprised to hear her father 's voice and got emotional.

" Papa , you called after so long, how are you and are you taking care of yourself ?" Ishani started asking her father many question, Ishani heard her father laugh which made her smile and relax.

" Ishani , I am sorry for not calling recently but was busy with work . I am good and I am taking care of myself because I don 't wants to be on the receiving way of your anger. " Harshad said kindly before he added :

" What about you Ishani , how are you holding up ? Are how is work going, and what about Shikhar , Disha and Angela ? "asked Harshad emotionally , missing his family.

"Papa , I am doing good . I am doing well at work as well, being teacher has always been a dream so. Disha, Shikhar and Angela are doing really good. Actually Ranveer and I had dinner with them today , we just came home. He is taking a shower now "Ishani said and what she heard next surprised her.

" Emm , how is Ranveer ? " Ishani did not her pain or anger in her father 's voice while he questioned her that .
" Emm , he is okey I guess " Ishani answered while biting her lip , everything was confusing.

" Papa , you have not asked about him a single time after we came to Norway . Why today? " Ishani asked her father .

" He is your husband , and my son in law " Harshad answered shortly.
" Papa , I might not be a cop like you but I am your daughter and my husband was a police officer and I clearly hear that you are hiding something " Ishani answered , turning into a serious mood.

Ishani heard her father sigh but after some minutes he responded :

" Ishani , you have to promise me that this will be between us and you won't say anything before I have proof. "

" Deal " Ishani answered.

" I have a doubt about Ranveer attempting murder on his father and him being a corrupt police officer " Harshad said slowly .

" But Ranveer confessed and all the proofs " Ishani said slowly , she was afraid to get her hopes up.

" I know , Ishani that is why I have to find some new clues. Look , Ishani I think Ranveer was hiding sometime , maybe he still is "

" But Ranveer confessed , why would Ranveer confess for crimes he did not commit ? " Ishani asked , her voice emotional , remembering how Ranveer confessed to her.

" That is what I have to find out " Harshad said determined.

" I hope you are right , papa " Ishan said , tears running down from her eyes. A small hope in her heart took birth .

" I hope it as well " She heard her father say .

" Ishani aunty " Ishani 's thoughts were interrupted when she head Angela calling for her.
" Yes , Angela " Ishani said and gave her niece a smile .

" Offo , Aunty were you not listening . I asked superman about what love is and he told me to ask you" Ishani looked at Angela and smiled , then she looked at Ranveer who looked at her keenly .

" Emm , tell me do you love superman ?" asked Ishani , even if she knew the answer.

" Ofcourse aunty , I love superman the most " Angela said and took hold Ranveer 's hand and Ranveer kissed her hands.

" Why do you love him ? " asked Ishani smilingly

" All the same reason why you love him " Angela said smilingly , and Ranveer and Ishani both looked at Angela wide eyed.

" Arrey , look at both of you " said Angela and grabbed both 's cheeks and said : " You are looking like cute monkeys "

MM, finally you updated this! 😃😃 And yes, I was right! 😉😉😉 But along with this newfound revelation, I'm confused. If Ranveer didn't kill his father, who did? Could be some other criminal, but why take the blame on his head. And regarding being a corrupt officer, that's so not Ranveer. Yet he took the blame on his head. Knowing Ranveer like I do, he is trying to protect someone by taking over the blame on his head. The new question is, who is it? .

Also, was Ranveer's father's death an accidental death at the hands of someone who Ranveer tried to save by taking the blame on his head because he had motive, or did he actually do the deed,playing along the corrupt officer tag alongside?

Oh my, MM, this has opened another whole arena of possibilities as to what could have actually happened eight years back. But why do I feel that Shikhar is as heavily involved in this asRanveer? 😕😕
