I think this has been brought up before or maybe I’m confusing with another show

Does Nia not have any cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents on either side ?

I remember Nia had a maasi but clearly Nia has no / little relationship with her due to the feuds between Amber and his sister in law

It’s kind of sad there is no extended family in their lives

While Guneet’s comment on Ambar’s marriage is out of line it is probably on the mark. A man who has zero rapport with anyone from his wfe’s family or friends must have isolated her also away from her people.

What about his own family - siblings, cousins, guys he studied with? Strange that excet neighbour Hakim he is not in touch with anybody!

I think with his wife’s family they really treated him and his wife badly ...something about property while she was dying ...that’s why he doesn’t speak to them

Guneet's cousin set her up with Anurag, remeber? The was also the Bua who visite d. And her mother's brother in Patiala was mentioned in one of the latest episodes. The family is definitely there, just not a close part of life. Perhaps Guneet prefers it this way to escape further criticism of her life choices?

But the Sikkas are a more normal family in the sense of having relatives, attending functions etc. Often women who are single past 30 or divorcee have to avoid relatives in India as they can keep taunting & pressurising.

Regarding Ambar - ok, so his wfe’s immediate family cheated them so distanced. What abt wife’s cousins, or Niya’s second cousins? Ambar’s own cousins & friends (even if he is single child)? Did they not go to college - how come no friends? Very unnatural.

Thats another thing - we are in the mobile telephony & social media age. How come someone who uses a dating app does not use facetime to regularly talk to her friends who moved away? Inconsistent!
