At the mental asylum.
Vrinda , Sanya, Nurse and doctor are with Rashi on the grounds. A speeding vehicle approaches them. Rashi reacts by pulling on Vrinda's arm and gesturing toward the vehicle and then tries to talk with her hands. But no one understands.
Vrinda calls Kashinath who is in the midst of a meeting and allows Rashi to talk to him. Though Rashi is only making moaning sounds, Kashinath is estatic. Vrinda tells him that Rashi is surely to talk someday as now a capable doctor is looking after her and Vrinda looks towards Sanya.
Kashinath in happiness, calls off the meeting because he is unable to concentrate.
He calls Sharada on the phone. He tells her that today he heard Rashi's voice. They are both very happy. Whilst talking, police come to Pandey residence. Sharada tells Kashinath that she will call him later.
Policeman tells Sharada that he has arrest warrant for Shankar. They arrest him for murder.
Krishna calls Sanya and tells her that the police have arrested Akilesh and Shankar and she is sure that it is the handiwork of Banu Pratab. She tells Sanya to return soon and not to tell Vrinda as Vrinda is already worried about Vikram and Rashi. Sanya says she will return soon.
Krishna asks Shakti what happened to the case against Akilesh. Shakti says his reputation in front of Kashinath has been damaged and with difficulty he is repairing it so why would he want to go against Kashinath now and help Akilesh.
Krishna is angry and tells him to stop his law practice and open a bangle shop instead.
Sharada arrives at police station. She questions the officer. He tells her that Akilesh has given the statement and is a witness to the fact that Shankar murdered Jaggu. Shankar tells Sharada to return home. Sharada calls Kashinath and tell him to return home.
Vrinda is sitting with Rashi going through family album. Sanya comes there and Vrinda introduces her as Adi bhaiya's biwi. Rashi seems to comprehend. Vrinda is happy that after a long time Rashi is trying to recognize herself. Sanya tells Vrinda to stay with Rashi and she will return home. Sanya gives her Vikram's letter to read and ask her to consider talking to Vikram. Vrinda says that she will not contact him but he can call her. Sanya tells Rashi that Vikram is her jija.
In Shakti's room, Nirbhay and Krishna are playing a prank. Taiji enters and they hide. Taiji scolds Shakti for sleeping all day. As Shakti moves under the blanket, bangles start to sound. Taiji removes the blanket and sees Shakti with makeup, earrings and bangles. He says that her daughter is one who did this but he doesn't mind. She tells him that is why he is a ghar jamaii. She tells him that in a few days, Banu Pratab's son is set to become the collector. She only saw him as a child but figures that he might not resemble Banu in looks but they have matched thoughts otherwise how will he teach Kashinath his position.
Krishna and Nirbhay are coming down the stairs happy that their prank worked. The telephone rings and Nirbhay picks it up. It is Vikram. Nirbhay tells Vikram that he has given the letter to Vrinda.
Vikram is at a cafeteria drinking tea wondering if Vrinda has read the letter or not. He is awaiting her call. On the other hand, they show Vrinda in the same cafeteria in a corner reading his letter and she says to herself that this letter has increased the pain. She further says that she wants to call him but this letter has doubts. Vikram says to himself, the words in the letter are his breaths talking. He wonders if she is waiting for him or not. There she tells herself how much longer can she wait. She admits she may have be late in calling but he could have called her. As she leaves, the waiter brings Vikram his tea hence blocking them from one another. Vikram decides to call Vrinda. Vrinda is at a book store. She picks up a book to buy and places Vikram's letter in it. Vikram calls her. She tells him you finally remembered me. She tells him it would be better if he had called her instead of writing. He said letter was the appropriate medium to express feelings. She tells him she was elated to read his letter and tells him not to distance himself from her again. Vikram tells her that he cannot live without Vrinda and Vrinda also says likewise. Vikram enters the bookstore where Vrinda is at but the don't meet. Vrinda pays for a newer book but forget about the earlier one. Vikram comes and is looking for the first book Vrinda picked up and he buys it. Later Vrinda comes back to the bookstore and the cashier tells her that he sold the book to a gentleman. Vrinda is worried the man who bought the book will tear and throw away the letter which is precious to her.
