Purchases of animals for zoos?Help

I have a question.....I know its kind of weird and pretty random but I was wandering that how do Zoos get all these different types of animals...I mean do they buy them or do they just caputre them and bring them back to the USA??

The breeding of zoo animals is so carefully managed that there is no need to take them from the wild to keep zoos full. Animals are only taken from the wild when they are very close to extinction and they have to be moved to zoos to protect the last remaining individuals.
