Easter is a Christian celebration of Jesus' resurrection. It falls on different dates every year but is always celebrated on a Sunday after Good Friday. According to the New Testament of the Bible, Jesus was arrested by the Roman authorities because he claimed to be the "Son of God."
Having being sentenced to death by the Roman Emperor, his resurrection occurred 3 days later, marking the occasion and celebration of Easter. It is believed Jesus sacrificed himself for the sins of mankind and his resurrection from the dead proves him as the true "Son of God", who defeated evil and death before returning to Heaven.
Christians regard Easter as a time to self-reflect and be inspired by Jesus' selfless act for mankind.

Easter is celebrated by Christians across the globe and typically involves people attend prayer services at their local church, decorating and distributing Easter eggs and playing traditional games including egg rolling and egg tapping.
The Easter egg represents the new life and fertility - thereby symbolising Jesus' rebirth.
The Easter Vigil (religious service in the Church) commences in the late hours of Saturday and lasts until the Easter Sunday. Hymns and prayers are recited and the Churches uses this day as a time to praise God for raising Jesus from the dead and also remembering Christian martyrs.

The CC team would like to wish you all a Happy Easter! Enjoy those Easter eggs! But before you do, please take part in the fun Easter Egg Hunt.
