Wednesday again? This serial again? eljay is reporting for duty.

Update for Wednesday, Oct 14, 2009:

Grand entrance - Kalaiarasu, dressed in a silk veshti and shirt, alights from a car, assisted by athai. Megs, her mother, sisters, etc., are all waiting to greet him. Everybody dissolves into tears (wish that had been literally so, then I needn't update this serial any more!) at seeing Kalai. He doesn't recognize anyone, and athai starts the intros. This is Tilaga, to whom you were married for 30 years, this is Megala, the daughter who ... and Megala cuts her off, saying Athai, why go into all that now? Tilaga cries about how she didn't know where he was all these years, and Megala tells her father that her mother cried every day (so what else is new?). Danda introduces himself, and says that they are all happy to see him and will help him in any way possible. Finally, athai takes her brother inside, introducing him to Karuna and Balu, saying we are so lucky, we got our brother the day your son came to us. Neither father nor son looks particularly thrilled.

Conference inside the house - all the members of the Kalai family are seated, and Karuna and Balu sit on the couches. Kalai asks his daughters one by one, who they are married to and what their husbands do. He asks about Kanmani and her husband and athai doesn't fail to let him know that Danda wasn't nice to them before but has changed now. Then he asks about Sakthi and where her husband is. She mennu muzhungufies and he feels sorry that he doesn't know anything about their lives. Athai updates him, saying that she ran away with Diwa and then they got Kanmani married to Bhupathy (now I also know how they got married!). Karuna is irritated and gets up and goes out, followed by daddy. Karuna says he just can't stand seeing all this.

Sakthi tells her brother to go and bring Diwa. Sezhi goes to Diwa's dad's house, rings the bell, and when they open the door, updates them. Durga joins them in the discussion as they all hear about how Kalai has been found and he has lost his memory.

My apologies to all those who find my updates boring. I lack Roja's touch with the language and the style and her humor, I also lack the background info on this story as I started updating this when she was in India, so a big chunk of the past is unknown to me. I also find them to be a big bunch of weepies, which annoys me, and so ... please bear with me.

Update for Wednesday, Oct 21, 2009:

Karuna is sleeping. Keerthana is sobbing (and I thought she was more sensible), then she gets up, goes to the other side, holds Karuna's feet and sobs some more (yuck!). Karuna wakes up, sees her sobbing, tells her to get up, tells her not to speak with arrogance to her husband, and says Purushanna ippadi thaan, you have to learn to watering going (I can't find an Eng equivalent to thanninju pOga, unless it is 'to be submissive' - well, I guess it is that!), stumbles, and wakes up! There is a God, thank you! It was a dream, and Keerthana is fast asleep. He is irritated, decides to teach her and her family a lesson, so he walks out of the house and goes to his own place (are the two houses near each other, or is there an all-night auto service? - definitely not, in my experience from my last visit to Chennai).

Balu opens the door, sees sonny, asks what the matter is, finally learns Karuna's story, and all this is being overheard by his wife (what's her name?). B tells K to go and lie down, and he will call and make a scene in the morning about his son being missing from their house, then he turns and sees his wife. He goes, grabs her by her ear (could I please resign from this serial? I cannot stand such scenes.), and asks her what she was planning to do, call them and tell them the truth? He takes up the phone and dares her to call. Finally, he lets her go, tells her to get coffee for both of them. Why couldn't the idiot woman at least hide behind the door and listen? Afther all, it is what everyone does in these serials.

Anbu wakes up to a ring from his phone, sees the date, goes and wakes up Samy, tells him it is the anniversary of the date of his meeting Megs, and says that he wants to spend the whole day with her. Samy manages to wake up, tells him that it is the day after the wedding, she will have things to do, but he tells Samy that somehow he will have to go to her house and get her to come over to his house. Samy agrees to do so, after he gets to sleep for another 15 minutes. Thank you, God, for bringing this scene to an end.

Megala's house, athai is awake and calls her brother, who comes in. He talks of how he cannot remember her, his beautiful wife, his lovely family, and she says his forgetting them is okay, but how could he forget her, when he was so used to doing only what she told him to do? Sezhi comes down, and she scolds him for waking up so late, and then says that they have to go to their house and get some stuff. Then she asks about mappillai and Keerthana and Tilaga says that K is still asleep. She launches into a spiel about how K cannot continue to sleep like this, she has been spoiled by them because she is the youngest, and so on, and K comes in, stifling a yawn. This brings forth some more lecturing from athai, and then she asks where is mappillai, and K says he is not in bed. Athai is concerned, asks if anyone has seen him, nobody has, wonders if he is in the bald upstairs (I am borrowing Roja's language, I hope that's okay with you, Roja!), and Sezhi says he came from there, and mappillai is not there. Athai is concerned, where can he be, this is no palace, and goes inside, calling for him. Megala brings the coffee, and serves it to them. Kalai goes for his shower, and Megs picks up the cups, and stands there, thinking.

Oct 22nd - Thursday Update:

Starts with COD & QBS fighting scene.................
Ennala mudiyalai pa...

COD is looking for some red file and calls QBS and finds his red file and finds QBS is all dull
sitting near her baby... She says that baby got high fever and worried about it... COD takes this opportunity
to poke some more words... as he need to prove that he is Durga's son right... he sarts his ramayan
by saying if QBS had listened to what COD's mom was telling by not taking baby to the wedding.. and there goes the fight...
Finally QBS says that she can take care of her son and says COD to take off to his office... and says try to act like dad for shiva
than as only son to his mom...

RKO family... Karuna in search....... Keertana with wet towel on her head ;) comes out in search of her lovely husband....
Then finally Megs makes the call saying lets call balu mama...
Balu gets his chance to do diwali one more time by just screaming on the other end of the phone
saying he is the mappilai of your house.. can't he complain about the food etc.. how can your sis
behave like this... don't you teach ur sis how to give respect to the husband...
how come you guys are not giving any respect....also says neenga evalvu nithanama phone panni verify pannureengo...

so finally megs says that karuna is sitting there only but balu is just screaming... asks keertana why did you go and talk all these things
in your 1st night... Keertana with some sense says that I only asked what is wrong as there are so many dishes... but I didn't complain anything
out only he did to his dad...

Patti suggests to Tilaga & kalai to go and talk to balu and get back Karuna to home...

Sezhi's fil is shown... balu calls sezhi's FIL...S's FIL says who balu.. I don't know any Balu...
Balu explains that he is Keertana's FIL and says that I took the bride only thinking that you are also sambandhi to RKO family...
Balu keeps saying that what kind of family it is ... oru velai karani kondu vandhu kalai arasu endru solli
kudumbame thalaila thooki vachu adarathu...I don't like it at all.. What family it is....
Now Sundaram (I think it is the name for S'z FIL) says that I know about that family.. I never asked you to
get your son married into that family... He also says did I ever comae to marriage or did I ever say that you can go ahead with the
proposal.. you go deal directly with that RKO fmaily and also says that I never wanted to have any sambandha
with the RKO family my daughter got married to sezhi by lovign him without sundaram's knowledge and by saying he cuts the line... Nalla vendum BALU ku...
Now atai gets turn... verifies who is on the phone and starts her screaming... Balu oru allu endru
think panni you are talking like this... how dare you talk about my brother's family.. Sundaram says that
don't scream here.. go and scream there as some problem has already started the 1st day of marriage...
atai says I will see him in one hand and goes out....

Tilaga and Kalai are coming to balu's house... Balu gives a shit look and doesn't even call them inside and just goes and sits by throwing the paper down...
Balu's wife comes and and see's tilaga & kalai and says vanga vanga... balu gives a look and screams
at his wife.... she is helpless...
I am really irritated with this Balu & Karuna character.. I really can't stand those who really illtreat
the ladies....
Balu says that how have you brought up your daughter... don't u teach how to behave to her husband...
is this how you people do to the SIL who just came to your house 1st day.. by letting him to sleep with hungry...
and ur daughter kept givign him advice... why u didn't teach her any values of how to behave etc...the way you have brought up ur daughter
is not at all correct...now Kalai says stop talking about your son.. the way you groomed ur son is not correct...
i have seen what your son did one day to his own mom... made her miserable to go and get back the Rs 5 she gave to the begger...
karuna & balu are speechless... Kalai adds that if I had known that he is going to marry only my
daugther I would have stopped this marraige... Attai just comes to Balu's house and hears this and the
screen freezes on balu and karuna's face....

Roja, you will have fun time to see some more of RKS tomorrow....
