OK. Wow. This was a good episode in my opinion.
Uttara-SSP-Devyani:
Ew. It is absolutely positively the most gross thing ever, but SSP is a smart guy and he's proving to be very very intelligent in this situation. Getting Uttara to trust him more and more, taking advantage of her current vulnerable situation, there's no doubt that he'll win over that trust completely, and thus take advantage of her when she is least suspecting of him. The baby steps he is taking, first praising her, then giving her the colorful saris instead of the pure white, hugging her, holding her hand, he is actually going about this very slyly, where Uttara [poor woman] is honestly mistaking his lust and cheapness for him wanting to genuinely help her because he cares about her.
Honestly though, one cannot blame her in this situation because she thinks of him as her brother in law, and doesn't even think that someone as
perfect as him could
ever do something so wrong.
I really appreciate how Devyani is handling this sitation, with the utmost subtlety and instead of confronting either party about what is going on, she does things her own way to try and stop anything wrong from happening. As a woman, how strong must you be to be able to recognize the faults in your husband and actually acknowledge them. Given, she doesn't do anything like openly, but the fact remains that she does realize that there are issues, but she also wants everyone to remain under an illusion and so she keeps her problems to herself.
SSP's anger towards Devyani, how he was seething completely, asking why she didn't stay with the youngsters when she returned and started admonishing Uttara really annoyed me, and the poor woman was actually left speechless. He's such a leech of a guy, his own wife's sister. 🤢🤢
I'm actually excited about seeing this track develop because it will definitely get more interesting and yes, gross and disgusting as well.
Vidya-Gaurav-Arti:
I don't know what else to say about this situation except that my heart absolutely breaks every time I see Vidya putting up that facade and then breaking down silently. I'm happy she actually let her emotions go in front of Imli, because one always
always needs someone to share their problems with. And hiding everything from everyone would just end up making Vidya feel more and more miserable and maybe even depressed in the long run.
As for Arti-Gaurav, I don't think I can comment much on their story because we really don't know why they were specifically broken up. Given that the Jhaakar family didn't approve of their relationship but honestly we have no clue as to any of the reasons behind it. Arti actually seems like an otherwise sensible woman, she said that she doesn't really like doing this to Vidya but her angle is actually slightly understandable, she loves Gaurav, he loves her, and in a way it is unfair for her to be separated from his love.
I don't agree with the extra marrital affair business going on now, even after Gaurav is married, but I think their situation is actually remotely realistic so I want to see where this ends up going.
And I really would like to see some more story development with Gaurav. He's always just confused now, and Vidya's always at an extreme, either crying or smiling like crazy.
Aditya-Priya:
I was SO unbelievably angry with Aditya at the beginning of the episode. I was SOSOSO angry with him. But I'm absolutely beyond a doubt extremely happy that they made up. I can't believe he said that he thought this marriage was a mistake. But now we see the flaws in the too good to be true Aditya popping up, and this presents the marital problems angle for Priya, a problem that the other three women already suffered through.
Priya having to deal with Aditya's anger, his impulsiveness, and his extreme love for his dad will definitely prove to be a challenge.
And although Priya definitely won today's battle with SSP, the war is far from being over.
And another thought, I definitely don't think a suhaag raat with our favorite couple will happen anytime soon. Why? Because I think SSP will do something or another to cut this night short for AdiYa.
*The Uttara-Tara story needs to move. Like now.
*Chinnu and Sweety were apparently invisible or hiding in cupboards until now. And suddenly they pop out to yell surprise for out Aditya's birthday. Please CVs, either give them a good enough role, or do something with them, rather than having them as mere props that technically live in the house but are never seen with the rest of the family.
Overall an 8/10 for this episode because I think the story just got a little push from multiple angles. Let's see where this takes us.
Cheers!
