In one of the earlier episode, Archu was telling Meghana that AD is always stops himself & others too whenever everyone teasing Archu and it hurts her. He was really sensible, means he 2 was teasing her, but not like nowdays. What he is doing nowdays is totally not in line with AD we saw of one year.
