At night,Mamta's mum brought the dinner to her room and asked her to finish it before studying.

"Ma!This Akshay is such a fool.Tomorrow is our exam and he isn't really bothered.See,he didn't even showed up for the revisions ."

"Beta,you don't worry 😊 .He must have studied his lessons.He must have gone to some other friend's place.Why are you always after him.....Now,com'mon the dinner is getting cold,eat it 😊 ."

"Ma,some other friends?,but.......he should have called.....anyways if he isn't bothered ,then why should I? "

"Beta,it's very late.Drink your milk and go to bed or you won't be able to write your exam properly😊."

"Ma!I'll call Rakhi aunty and ask her about Akshay"

"Ok,as you wish,you are not gonna listen to me anyways...but drink your milk and go to bed immediately after calling her and say your prayers!!.No late night studies....understood!Goodnight my little angel 😳!!!"

She dialled the number and Rani picked up the phone.

"Hello!Rani,This is Mamta di.Is Akshay there at home?"

"Di!He's not home yet.I lied to everyone here that he'd be at your place doing revisions 😕 ."

"BHAGWAN!!Where is this boy?OK,never mind...you keep the phone.Bye,Goodnight!"

She brushed her teeth and switched off the lights,and when she went to the balcony to close the door she was shocked to see Akshay climbing up the balcony 😲 .

"What are you doing here at this time?God! if Ma,Baba sees you here what will I tell them?"

"Sorry,Mamta.I couldn't come here before cos I had to take Rudra to the hospital.We both had met with an accident,while coming here."

"God!Are you hurt?And howz Rudra now?"

"No,'am okay and Amit is also fine,minor scratches and two stiches. 😊 "

"Thank God,nothing worse happened."

"Now,you go,it's vey late.It's really stupid of you to come here at this time that too after an accident."

"But,I haven't revised anything and what 'am I gonna write in tomorrow's exam 😕 ."

"Ok,just a few hours."

It was morning and the sun was beginning to peep from his cloud blanky 😳.Akshay and Mamta were lying among the books,their heads poked into the books 😆 .Mamta smiled and placed her hand on him in sleep 😳 .She opened her eyes and saw Akshay lying close to her facing her.She was shocked😲and screamed.She sat up and was really feeling scared 😭 . "A-K-S-H-A-Y!!Get up!It's morning and Ma,Baba will be here any moment 😕 .And if they see you here what will I tell them 😭 ??Get up!!"

Akshay smiled 😊 in his sleep and said, "Mamta.......What is your problem?Let me sleep.I've revised all the important chapters.You too come and sleep 😳 ."

"What?? 😡 Akshay ,if you won't get up immediately,I'll wash your idiot brain with tight slaps."

She tried to pull him up.But it was useless.Finally she brought a mug of cold water and poured it over his face 😆.

"o-o-a-a-h-h!Mamta,Why did you do this?It's very cold."

He pulled her down and poured the remaining water on her 😳.She screamed and started hitting him.She scolded him, "Already you've put me in one trouble and now this too 😡 ."

She jerked her head in disgust and when tried to get up ,Akshay held her hand 😳 . "Akshay leave me,have you gone mad?" she stuttered nervously 😳 .

"S-ss-hhh!!From many days I wanted to tell you something but couldn't gather the courage."

They looked into eachother's eyes 😳. [Background Song:Title track of Hum Apke Hain Koun 😳 😳 ] Before Akshay could say anything there was a knock at the door 😕 .

They were shocked😲. "Hey!GB,it's Ma.What will I tell her?You go from here 😕 ." She takes him to the door "no...no....not from here,she'll see you.You climb down the balcony like you came up here....go,go hurry up!!1 😕 "

"Ok,bye. 😊 "

She rushes to the door and opens it.

"Mamta,beta!why did you bolt the door?You never do that,you were always so scared even to close your door.....and you are all wet...What's wrong?"

"Ma...Ma....I wasfeeling sleepy and I wanted to revise more....so I poured water on my head 😕 ." While saying this she was shivering and was feeling guilty in her mind cos it was the first time she was lying to her mum.She said in her mind, "GB,please forgive me cos if I tell her the truth she will be hurt 😭 ."

"Silly girl,you never listen to me....come here let me wipe your hair or you'll get fever..........Acha beta,did you call Akhay's mum?"

"Yes MA,Rani told me he was at some friend's place."

"See,I told you."

"Ma,I love you and you are the Best Maa....in the whole universe... 😃 ."

"Bas!Bas!Don't put so much maska....And beta remember onething....you are our life,our hope and you mean everything to us.....Mera bacha 😳 .."

They both hugged eachother... 🤗 ...

After sometime the phone rings and Mamta picks it up...

"Hello!Who's it?"

"Mamu,Tanu here.."

"Tanu,What is it?"

"Mamu,Help....I've forgotten everything.Cn you come here now?"

"Tanu,Now...so early.."

"Okay,Then Iam coming there....Bye."

"H-e-l-l-o!!Tanu....Tanu.....This girl,she's really mad 😊 ."

Tanisha came to her place in no time....Mamta's mum opened the door.

"Goodmorning ,Aunty.Where's uncle? 😃 "

"Goodmorning,beta....He's gone for his morning walk."

"Hi!Mamu ,come we'll go to your room. 😊 ." And she dragged her to her room.

"Ok,now will you please tell me what's going on?"

"My sweet,pagli Mamu😳......,I wanted to tell you something about Akshay😳........hmmmm.....I guess not now ,someother time."

"Tanu,for God's sake don't play with me.Tell me is it something serious.... 😕 "

"Ya!Mamu it's very serious..... 😆 😆 Goodness!Look at your face Mamu...you've gone pale... 😆.I told you I'll tell you later...now let's go to the college. 😆 "

Mamta still looked bewildered 😕 but she was accustomed to such pranks by Tanisha.Mamta took Tanisha to the temple and prayed there.They took there pens from the pandit which they'd given in the temple for doing pooja.

"Ganapathy Bappa,please give us knowledge and buddhi to write our exams carefully.Gb,please give your blessings to Akshay also..I really 'am worried for him...I don't know whether he's prepared or not"

"Hey!Bhaggu,give me courage so that I could open my mouth in front of Akshay and tell him about my heart....bas and ....exams mein meri aur Mamu and Akshay ki help karna....ok,bye... 😃 "

They reached the college and Akshay was waiting for them.He looked pathetic with a red nose and he was continuosly sneezing 😕 .Mamta was worried on seeing him like that but she didn't say anything ,she instead of said, "I really wonder how you got away from my house without being noticed."

"You are so mean,You don't see me sneezing cos of you.....you poured water on me....and ....A-A-C-C-H-H-O-O! "

"Akshay,you went to her home,when?Atleast not when I was there?"

"Yes,I went there at midnight...and returned in the morning...Yaar,I had to write something in the exam....samjhi... 😉 "

Tanisha was a bit upset,they wrote the exams and came out....They all looked happy and relieved and in the next few days their exams were completely over.Mamta was waiting for Tanisha near a tree in the college and Akshay came to her....and said.. "Mamta,that day I didn't come to your place for revision...but I wanted to tell you something....and ....... 😊 "

"Hi!Mamu!Hi!Akshay 😃 ."

"So,the finals are over and what next?We must go and celebrate."

"Yes!It will be great,right Mamu......Mamu kahan khoyi hui ho...we are talking about a celebration not mourning 😆 😆 "

"Mamta,you don't look happy.What happened"

"Nothing.I'll see you both tomorrow. 😕 😕Bye!! "

"Mamta.....Mamta......." he looked perplexed and worried.

"Akshay,she's a bit sad 😕.Her Dad wants her to meet a boy ,who's coming to see her this evening."

"To see her,what do you mean by that? "

"Akshay,for marriage..."

"What?You both never told me anything....😡 "

"Well,it's not that serious,is it?You don't have to worry....It's her private matter....and if she likes the boy she'd probably say yes...she can continue her studies after marriage also... 😊 ."

"No! 😡 She can't say yes....u-g-h! I mean how can she say yes,without telling us,we're her friends afterall..."

"Akshay,what's wrong with you?Just chill...anyways leave it....."

"You also would be going there this evening.Can I also come?"

'No,you can't come.It's not an engagement ceremony,it's just a small family matter. "

"Akshay,Leave it!I wanted to tell you something very important.... 😳 😳 😳 I...I think that I like you....I've never felt like this before until the past few months....you've done magic on me.. 😳 😳 And I wanted to know what are your feelings for me...? 😳 "

She looked up at him,but he wasn't even looking at her... 😕

"Akshay,wait......Akshay 😕 😭 "

At Mamta's place,Tanisha was helping Mamta to get ready....Mamta was lost in thoughts...and looked gloomy 😕.

"Mamta,this green sari isn't suiting you......Tanu,beta you come with me ,I've bought a pink dress for her,that colour suits her perfectly... 😊 ."

At that time she thinks of Akshay, "Pink,You too like that colour...but I am putting that colour for someone else and I am helpless....tumne kabhi kuch kaha hi nahi... 😭 😭"

Mamta sat there alone looking at the GB,Akshay gave her 😳 😭. "GB,you know my heart,you know my love...then why are you silent?...Please help me from this.. 😭 ."

She closes her eyes and when she opens it she sees Akshay behind her in the mirror.But when she turns he's gone 😭 😳 😊 .

"No,this isn't right.I shouldn't think of him..... 😭 "

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

But,again when she opens her wet eyes,she sees him...in the mirror😲 ""I'll have to forget you...cos you are just a dream that I started cherishing unknowingly in my heart.Pata hi nahi chala!.. kab koi dil mein aakar rehne laga 😳 😭 ....but,this can't be real.... 😭

She then took her eyes off the mirror and starts putting her bangles one by one...But,suddenly the reflection of Akshay spoke...leaving her petrified😲

"Mamta,You can't forget me... 😊 😭 😳 "

Mamta jumps off her stool and moves back in horror....Akshay walks to her....and she moves back until she's halted by the wall 😒 .

"Mamta,I know I shouldn't have come here like this...but I ...can't take this any more"

"Akshay,why did you come here?If any one sees you here at this moment ,my life'll be ruined...Please you are my friend and for the sake of our friendship you please go... 😭 😭 "

She looks at the door and is panic stricken,she tries to walk away from him,but he holds her hand and pleads her to listen to him 😕 . "Mamta....please....just listen to me once..."

"Akshay,leave my hand 😡 ,and please go away...before it's too late...."

"N-O-O! It's already late and I should have told you long before but I was a fool,khud apne pyar ko samajh nahi paya 😳 ....."

"Akshay!!no.....You please go,I beg of you...please.. 😭 😭 😭 "

"N-O-O!!!! 😡 You'll have to listen to me....cos this has to do with our lives..your's as well as mine..samjhi!!! 😡 😭 "

He holds her face in between his palms and looks cutely and sadly into her eyes 😳 and wipes her tears.Mamta is speechless and she too looks into his eyes with tears. 😭

"Mamta ,I should have told you this long before,it's my fault....I didn't have the courage and it took me a while to understand it myself....lekin pyar pe kisi ka zor nahi chalta hai,woh toh ho jata hai😳 ...and jitna bhi tum apne pyar se door bhagogi,khud ko mere utna hi kareeb paogi😳 😳 .... 😳 😭it's in your eyes...and I can hear it in your heartbeats.... 😳 😭 And today I want to tell you something I've never felt before...and if don't say this now,I'll lose you forever...and I won't let it happen at any cost... never....!😳 😳 ."

"Akshay..... 😭 "

"S-s-s-h-h......!don't stop me,let me say it 😳 ."

They look into eachother's eyes 😳 and have tears in their eyes 😭 😭 😳 .Akshay goes and picks up the GB 😳 he gave her and places it in front of them, and holds her hand and says, "In front of Ganapathy Bappa😳 I want to tell you that I love you.....I love you Mamta 😳 ...."

Mamta smiles 😊 with tears 😭 ,but then she nods her head in disapproval and places her palm on her mouth in shock😲 "No!This isn't right...You go from here,Tanu and Ma would come here at any moment and I don't want to bring disgrace to my family...who've loved me so dearly....they mean more to me than my love 😭..... 😭 😭 😭 You go go"

"Mamta 😭 I know you too love me otherwise you wouldn't have had tears in your eyes.I really didn't come to know when I started falling in love with you 😳 😳 ...I gradually started liking your simplicity 😳 ,your innocence 😳 😳 ,your coyness 😳 and now I can't stop myself from loving you....I just can't! Mamta your eyes tell that you love me,your heart says that you love me..but I want to hear it from your mouth….Just say it once that you love me...just once!!!"

He takes her hand and keeps it on 'GB' 😳and says, "Now you tell me......now you can't lie.....just say it once..from your mouth...."

Mamta wants to tell him that she too loves him but is hesitant and scared.She pulls her hand and turns with tears welling up in her eyes.At that time the door opens and Tanisha and Mamta's mum come in talking excitedly 😃 about the dress.Mamta is shocked😲 and turns around to see Akshay......but he was not there,and she finds a letter beneath GB...... 😕 😳

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN




She picks up the letter and reads it.....

Mamta,
I know that you are a shy girl and that you value your family and culture above everything.But like everything you too have a heart,that can fall in love.And it's not a sin to love someone.And I have seen that love in your eyes for me.True love happens only once and that also when God showers his blessings from deep beneath his heart 😳 .And our love is pure cos there's God's presence in it.Mamta I'll tell my parents to meet your parents but before that I need your answer.

She smiles 😊 with tears of happiness and holds the letter close to her.She says, "Yes,I love you. 😳 "

Akshay was hiding in the balcony,he hears her and happily rushes down from there 😃 😃 .

Tanisha sees Mamta talking to herself and comes near her and asks her, "Mamu,show me what is it?"

"Nothing!Tanu... 😊 " She keeps the letter in the drawer and wipes her tears.She tells Tanisha that she'd go and change and come..... 😊Tanisha is suspicious and she pulls out the letter from the drawer...

"Tanisha ,beta!I think they've come.I'll go down and see them.You bring Mamta down...Ok!!" says Mamta's Mum to her.

Mamta comes out wearing the pink lehega.....looking like a princess....thinking about Akshay 😳 .Tanisha was arranging her almirah...

"Mamu....You look beautiful.Anyone who sees you today will agree to marry you. 😳 😆 "

"Shut up!Tanu! 😕 " and she thinks in her mind, "I love you Akshay.and after what you said today,I love you even more.I'll tell Baba that I like you and I am sure they will support me at any cost.... 😊 😳 " She looks at Tanisha who appeared to be very sad 😕.

"Tanu,what happened?You look very sad,what's wrong? "

"Nothing,Mamu!wear these bangles,they'll suit your lehenga....Akshay also likes this colour... 😳 😭.....I mean.... "

"Tanu,don't try to hide.There's definitely something wrong.Tell me Tanu....'am your best friend...tell me 😕 "

When Mamta insists a lot ,she starts crying 😭 and says, "Mamu,I love someone...but I think he doesn't love me...... 😭 😭I am shattered...."

"Tanu,how foolish? itni si baat and you didn't tell me this before...pagli.I'll talk to that person..nobody can refuse your love.That person'd be the luckiest person in the whole world and now stop crying and tell me who that lucky guy is, han!!?"

"Mamu,that person is .........A-K-S-H-A-Y!!!! 😊😳"
