He died in a car accident 😭 Simran is being mean to Mamta because she feels Mamta is responsible for her brother's death. She knows how much Sid loved Mamta, and she thought they were married but she found out Mamta and Akshay were in love and knows how hurt her brother was. Now Simran wants Mamta to pay.
