I really like this new show by YRF in terms of acting and actor's chemistry with each other, however I also think that this show is somewhat giving a wrong message. This show is about a girl who is fatbut ambitious, loves herself the way she is and doesn't care what people think of her. No problems with that in fact she is a good inspiration for people with low self esteem due to their weight problems. However her attitude of not doing anything about her weight gain, and constantly eating gol gappas, chocolates, gulab jamun, potato chips, cookies, and what not, is a wrong message to people health wise. There are so many risks involve in weight gains which is proven by many studies.

Do you guys think in future episodes Mahi should be shown doing something about her weight? Let me know what your views are.

Thanks for reading,

Mahi has been craving for food way since childhood which makes me think that it is a) a genetic problem thats b) aggravated by her poor family-life.... A combination of both... What I mean is, she eats food because it provides her that security which she never gets from the outside world. It's a device. Now unless she doesn't learn to be secure with herself and deal with her family and outsiders who constantly judge her, she'll NEVER be able to lose weight, because IMO the reason she eats is because she doesn't get the acceptance she craves...

So I think the show isn't conveying the wrong message in that Mahi has to first accept herself as who she is, because acceptance is usually the first step of treatment. And once she's done that, she'll be able to lose weight easily....

hi i'm a silent reader...and this is what i think...

i think she should first find the right guy who loves her for who she is not what she looks like. the next step should be toward a healthier lifestyle and the man in her life should support her decision and help her gain her goal...but the weight issue should come second bc if she lost weight now then it will send the wrong message to women telling them that they need to lose weight in order to find good guys...but i definitely agree that she needs a healthier lifestyle...maybe she should come to this realization after having a health related problem which causes her to pay attention to her eating habits... her goal should NOT be to be size zero

i dont think it potrays a bad message...its about the misfits in society on whata ever grounds.......and how she lives on her won terms......as far as the story goes,i dotn want mahi to loose weight.......let her be the way she is thats her beauty!!!....as far as the health thing is concerned, there are many people who may be obese who are so because of various problems maybe hormones, tyroid etc etcwhat can they do to become thin!!!........and anyway it isnt like the show is a health show or sumthing that we shiuld bother whether mahi is healthy or not.....its a show meant for pure entertainment....

well rather than taking a health related message from this show, i wud say its more bout conveying the message how one shud accept the way they r and love themselves...so i dnt think its conveying a wrong message at all...i wud call it conveying a wrong message when mahi will start losing weight just to change her look, tht wud definitely give a wrong message as it's not promoting a positive self image, but if she loses weight for health reasons, then tht wud be a gud message.

agree..that way she'll have the satisfaction of knowing she's loved by someone who doesn't just look at her looks

Intersting I see it differently in that, she became fat because, she was shy initially and felt like couldn't express herself. Due to this shiness, she started eating and making herself fat like she showed initially. On top of that, people judged her at home. The bigger message in my opinion is don't beat the person who is already mentally down otherwise they end up like Mahi, and start destroying themselves. I think when later in the show, Mahi gets her selfesteem back, she will look at herself and say, I need to change for myself, who cares what everyone else thinks. This will only happen when she finds/doesn't find a guy she wants.

i find it kinda realistic.....there are many people who live to eat....unlike some who eat to live....ahi belongs to the first category....how ever she tries she cant stop eating if such peeps try to control they go ahead to eat more.....if they are happy they eat if they are angry they eat more...if they are sad too they eat ....its just that some people love to eat ...eating is their life .... until a day they find some thing or some one who can change things for them.........may be Mahi may start loving her self when some one will truly love her the way she is .

Mahi way is just abobut those people who are born fat ...however they try they cant reduce wight

its about those peeps jo khane ki khusbu be lete hai toh mote hojate hai.....just love the show....aakhir mote log bhi isaan hote hai 😃
