I really like this new show by YRF in terms of acting and actor's chemistry with each other, however I also think that this show is somewhat giving a wrong message. This show is about a girl who is fat but ambitious, loves herself the way she is and doesn't care what people think of her. No problems with that in fact she is a good inspiration for people with low self esteem due to their weight problems. However her attitude of not doing anything about her weight gain, and constantly eating gol gappas, chocolates, gulab jamun, potato chips, cookies, and what not, is a wrong message to people health wise. There are so many risks involve in weight gains which is proven by many studies.

Do you guys think in future episodes Mahi should be shown doing something about her weight? Let me know what your views are.

Thanks for reading,

-Sarah

dont know but its my opinion that we should accept ppl da way they are.....mahi is fat.....so what?? isnt this show about learning 2 life on ur own terms???

i get the point u r trying to make.....but i seriously would not want mahi to change............we all need 2 stop judging ppl on basis of how they look........isnt life in the broader sense about appreciating beauty that radiates from within??

end of the way...i think they are handling the weight issue really well....if mahi is happy eating......then datz da way we love mahi.....coz she s unique nd dats her way..mahi way!!

You are right people should be accepted how they are from inside and not their appreance, but here I am not talking about people accepting fat people or not accepting them, and I am not saying people who have weight issues loose weight to please people. All I am saying is that health wise being obese causes big risks. I know its just a show.

i think the weight loss issue will come up eventually ... mahi mite end up going on a diet - rather she would choose to go on a diet - and not just to fit in .. but to live healthy .... rite now ... i think the creatives will be more interested in showing that u shd be comfortable with who u r and find someone who loves u for your own sake rather than because u r thin or look good ....

I don't think so cuz Mahi Way is based on the story of a gal who doesn't have the perfect looks but tries to establish herself in this world...
Even if,in the future,Mahi decides to loose weight then I don't really think its conveying any wrong message cuz everyone has a right to look good...
This was just my thought..Lets see what happens...😊

I dont think is show is conveying the wrong message at all. While I agree that people who are overweight should try to loose weight for health reasons. Sometimes it is not that simple.

I mean Mahi is overweight because of how she eats perhaps, but there are those who have metabolism/tyhroid problems that cant loose weight despite trying. There are also people, who enjoy eating and it is the only thing that makes them happy, and why not? I mean better to live happy?right. I think people tend to be harsh on fat peoplewithout understanding it.

What the show is also conveying/ asking: what happened is to accepting the people the way they are? I mean is that not an important lesson to teach people to?
Whether they are fat, skinny, dark, fair, gay or straight?

And the show is not just talking about fat people but also gay people- with sid to a certain degree.
