@monsoonrains: I agree, after a longgggg time there is some quality fiction programming as a weekly show....hallelujah! lol....the producers are YRF :-)

@Sandy: LOL arey Star One is toh hum sabka pet peeve yaar....the so called 'youth shows' wala channel *rolls eyes*....which only airs utter crap now....I for one would love to see some shows that ACTUALLY represent the youth of today....

Daily shows do not have a story. They start with a basic idea..a backdrop and some characters. Then the pressure of airing the show daily leads to disasters. A simple track is dragged out to a point that the viewer forget what the original issue was...Side-comedy-actors are added for brainless crap. Songs are added even when they have no connection to the story. Actors are over worked...body doubles are used and retakes are avoided even if a scene is not shot well. Daily shows do not move a story forward...they stretch it...distorting the original essence of a show. Any thing that is given more time will give a better result....so ofcourse I prefer these weekly shows....
Perfectly said, Mash! Especially the bit in bold!
btw Anu I think a poll such as this should be started in a 'daily show' forum too....then only we'll know what type of shows the...ehmm....audience really prefer...lol

LOL are you kidding?? We all know what the result would be if I posted this poll there 😆 ...quality toh bahut pehle hi tel lene chali gayi thi in the 'youth show' forums 😆

Well usually weekly shows are much much better than daily shows for obvious reasons as they get enough time to work on scripts and improvising it. pressure on actors are less too (tat is if they are engaged with one show). so the performances come out beautifully. so anyday a weekly show is better than a daily where as u say quality is compromised big time for quality.

Hey loved your poll...😊 Anyways I prefer quality over quantity because if the show is well-scripted and is made with good material then you enjoy it a lot even if it airs once in a week.... There are countless daily shows on TV which I don't even give a second glance while changing channels as they all are the same dragging kind of shows.... Mahi Way is a refreshing change and although I have to wait a WEEK for it,I don't mind as I know that I 'll enjoy the show and it will definitely lighten my mood....😊

Anu...definitely quality over quantity. History itself tells the unfortunate aftermath that takes place when a soap becomes daily or becomes Mon-Fri from Mon-Thurs or starts airing every day :P

I, for one, would not only prefer weekly but also a soap divided into seasons, like how English series are aired. True, that waiting to watch the next episode of your favourite soap takes a lot of patience, which most of us cannot give.........but if we don't compromise, the standard of TV shows are never going to improve.

I really want the reign of saas-bahu shows to end and the cringe-worthy scenes of youth-based shows to be shown the door out. Melodrama is not the part of our life, and neither is superficial activities. We are people with emotions as well as wit, we prefer to watch things which caters out tastes from both emotional and logical persepctive. Television should entertain us and capture us regarding the future storyline, not irritate us with the random and puzzling half-baked stories. This YRF shows gives a ray of hope and I want these shows to set a trend. This can only happen if quality remains good, which in turn is solely possible if they remain weekly (or maybe made season wise.....just an opinion....not a must factor...lol)

Very well said, Mels 👏 ....I wouldn't mind the season format either....yes it requires more patience but atleast the end result will be a quality one! With so much pressure on the writers as well as the entire team of a daily show, it is no wonder that the quality deteriorates so quickly...if creativity was truly given room to breathe, wouldn't it work wonders??? For now, I think this weekly format is good for these shows and allows for a proper storyline build-up and everything.....I hope the YRF team doesn't compromise on the standard of quality they have set with these opening epis.

@bold: I SO want that to happen as well! 👏

Thanks, Wafa! :-)

@bold: Exactly....this show is such a refreshing change and I'm more than willing to wait a week to get to watch the next epi cuz I know it will be well-made :-)

Obviously quality over quantity. Yes, it would be nice to see endearing characters (like Mahi) more often, but no character can prevent a show from sinking without a good script.

Plus, sometimes I get lazy, and daily shows are much more harder to catch up on 😛

Definately a quality show that only airs once a week. Because by this, we'll be able to see a story line that'll be more clear instead of epi's being thrown together just to create some story line for the week. It'd be better to see fav. characters once a week because they'd be giving thier best in a qualitative epi.
