@nureat01 : Superb analysis (wondering why you calling it Random.it is anything but random)
How REFRESHING was this? I absolutely loved the direction, the dialogues and the casting. It is soooooo real. Any one can relate to it. We find Mahi around us rather among us.
The most hilarious part for me was a set of nannies EYEING the smarty on the steps when the seemingly shortsighted Mahi fails to acknowledge him.(some dialogues for bifoculs were soo reallll)
I sincerely feel that this serial remains this way; i mean MAHI WAY (read it refreshing).

OMG
you listed out basically everything that I was thinking!!!! it was really well written, and great descriptions that the scenes came alive in my imagination all over again.
OMG I LOVED the episode!!!!!!!! like every single scene was special and funny and totally new. i love love loved the new situations they had, and the new zing into normal situations.
and i agree with you, "kuti and kamini" were OTT...hopefully they get better, or they don't get much focus, because if they stay the same and there is focus on them....i'm gonna get annoyed. lol
Golgappa Chor....*sighs dreamily*

Anu, it is always fun reading your analysis. I couldn't watch the episode completely thanks to my cable but whatever I could, I enjoyed it. Like you said at one point or the other many of us would have felt like we just don't fit in somehow. Mahi interaction with her best friend and Mr.Golgappa Chor were my favorites.

When Mahi's boss tells her what is name of your column and she tells to herself can't even remember that why don't you have chapamprash😆😆 Later when her boss says which fool gave the column such a name and Mahi says to herself you😆😆 It was hilarious.

I would choose Mr.Golgappa over Ishaan. I would like to see their more interactions in the show. I hope the show remains like this and doesn't turn into another melodrama.

wonderful take anu... i was waiting for this show 2 start...i'm happy how it started off covering everything which is needed for the 1st epi

her family was hilarious...there are hardly any normal creatures in that family except her dad
Kudos 2 mahi n her dad for tolerating them

i liked her dreamy nature with Mr.Ahuvalia (dont know the crct name... the french beard guy) n her interest 2 reach the lift at the same time when he's in it

weren't those kutti n kamine irritating???
boss was a bit k... have 2 see how she'll b in future

i liked how she described abt her brainless, beautiful frnd.. not the gal though

there are 2 more ppl whom i liked ... her gal frnd (i dont remember the name too.. 😳) n the gol guppa chor
they both were amazing n so were their scenes with mahi... may it b her drive back 2 home with her gal frnd or gol guppa chory scene n hiding behind the gol guppa chor... all of them were equally adorable... weren't they??

above all these which cracked me up was the title credits esp for gil guppa chor
"manhoos...pata nahi kaun hai"

loved the show, the concept of being a misfit in some sort of way is great and i think people can relate with that. Having a family that have problems all of their own is probably a normal sort of thing when extended families live together, im not saying extended family is a bad thing but it is something that adds spice to life. She feels that her family is dysfunctional but they do have great love for her as well. And i love mahi's niece, very cute scene between those two.

Agree with all the adjectives used to describe this show : fresh, contemporary, relatable. Especially like that they didn't try to over-compensate for Mahi's perceived physical imperfections, by making her a perfect character. So, she isn't smarter, wiser, more kind or moral than the rest of us. Yes, she is lovable but still with her fair share of flaws. Love the normalcy
As for the rest of the characters, didn't think the sister was too realistic. Yes, that teasing would be expected if they were teenagers but by the time they're in their twenties, you would expect sisters to be a lot more supportive of each other. Basically her sister should be a lot like Roshni by now. Mona and Sona seemed a bit OTT but provided good humour nonetheless. Could totally relate to her boss mixing up her name. Sid seems like such a sweetheart but I wonder if he will have more of a storyline beyond just being a support system for Mahi. Awwww, Mr Perfect Ishan Singh Ahuluwalia, we all know it's a very shiny surface, wonder if he'll surprise us by showing us some substance beneath it. Someone already showing substance is Regular Joe - Mr Every Guy but still a canvas-sneaker wearing Prince Charming. He is polite, kind and easy going. What more can you ask for in the real world?
Can't wait for the next episode.😊

@pri: Thanks yaar! :-) Loved your post too! LOL and adorable and dorky is the kind I prefer too :P haha.....hope Sony allows this quality show to blossom and get it's due recognition :-)

@Pallo: Totally yaar....these are indeed the REAL youth shows....star one crap toh is not even worth mentioning....too pathetic for words....redefining chindi-ness on a daily basis ;-) lol

Sure I'll make the avis yaar...no problem :-)

@Manisha: Very well said....that is indeed what makes Mahi so relateable....she is naive yet contemporary....overall just adorable! lol...and yes her chemistry with Mr. Nobody is very cute indeed!

Sharon Prabhakar looks so different after all these years, haina?? lol...good to see her though.

I really liked the first episode, it was impressive on the whole. Many parts were very realistic and that's what I loved. They didn't go over the top nor did they try to act too "cool" about everything, it had a nice balance.

I loved the whole episode, from all themajor scenes like the elevator one (which I found hilarious) to the small touches. I like her little lines like, "Meri Diwali ke mithai" and what she was saying in her head to the golguppe wala. The way that she comes up with comebacks after the conversation is over is great! So realistic. The ending credits were great as well with all of the personal touches, the Pata Nahin Kaun Hai Manhoos was the best of the lot.

Overall I loved the realistic touches of this show, its so much more relatable than those shows that supposedly show your average female(more like overly perfect female, even thecharacters who are supposed ot be "not cool" and "notpretty"are asbeautiful as supermodels). The character of Mahi really was the type of person that everyone either knows or actually is.

The only parts that I had an issue with were Sona, Mona, and Ramona (or something like that). Those two coworkers were annoying and over the top and were acting exactly like those two coworkers from Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. The boss seemed to have watched The Devil Wears Prada far too many times as she was trying her hardest to act like Meryl Streep. I would have much preferred for those characters to be more original.

Other than that this show had a very promising start!

Thanks so much :-)

I loved your post as well....great points...I totally agree....Mahi is the kind of person we all either know or are somewhat like her....she isn't an 'ugly betty' type or a 'seedhi saadi gharelu' type or supermodel skinny....she's just your average girl next door with the same dreams and desires that an average girl next door WOULD have....not to be on some 'mahaanta' trip....lol...

Yes, Sona-Mona were OTT....the only kinda average characters in the mix....if they are supposed to be catty towards Mahi, I think they could still use some subtlety atleast...lol....or maybe they ARE just supposed to be that stupid :S ROFL....anyways yeah, I'd like to see those characters sketched in a better manner too :-)
