Dear Arshi,

Spot on, as usual. 👏 And touching every base imaginable, from the beginning to the end, not forgetting the lament about the sad misuse of Saras-Kumud's lovely haveli. 😭

And what did I tell you the day before - that Naanu and to a lesser extent Balivesh, belonged to the aristocracy of evil? I had there cited the way in which Naanu neatly checkmated a rebellious Maya without even raising his voice, and now, as you have noted, he dominates Greyerson as unambiguously as the Cardinal does. His casual dismissal of both Greyerson and Balivesh was masterly. Pure, unapologetic, unimaginable evil is as fascinating as a snake rearing its head ready to strike.

Compared to him, and even to Balivesh, Animesh is only a crude thug, and I am sure Rudra will deal with him in a purely physical fashion, meting out the kind of sledgehammer punishment he deserves, when it comes to the end game.

I could understand Rudra's untrammelled fury as Animesh boasts about his abominable crime, but I would have liked his reaction to have been cold and sneering, not with his face twisted in anger, and for the slap to have come sooner, much sooner. With Balivesh, he was exactly as I would have wanted him to be, cold and controlled and yet very aggressive as he corners Balivesh again and again.

For Naanu, and even for Balivesh, the retribution that Rudra wreaks on them would have to much more cerebral.

The only thing that puzzles me about Naanu is why he had sequestered himself in that underground room for 24 years, pretending to be doing prayaschit.

Yes, and if Naanu is so impressive, I wonder what his Guru Maharaj would be like. The battalions of Satan are gathering.

Well, I seem to have fallen flat on my face with my "no garuda chinna on Shivanand" argument😉 - thought it is a valid one which has not been negated even now- relying on Greyerson's strip search of Shivanand.

But I (and Greyerson! ) forgot that Utkarsh can turn things around any time he wants to, and so now Shivanand does have the chinna, but on his scalp! Well, with that mane of hair, which would have delighted the Tirupati barbers😉, no wonder, for Shivanand could have hidden a whole potli there without anyone being any the wiser!

QUESTION: How come Daadi does not seem to know about the garuda chinna on Shivanand's scalp? She mentions her husband's and Rudra's but not Shivanand's. Very misleading, and I had taken that on board as well when I nixed the Shivanand-as-Rakshak theory. 😭

Even if he was not tonsured, which itself would be odd given his family background, surely she would have rubbed oil into his hair umpteen times when he was a boy, so how could she have missed it???

I too thought so before the 1989 explosion scene, when he was carrying Rudra on his shoulders, but apparently that was a Shiva tattoo. If it had been the garuda chinna, Greyerson would have been on to it like a hawk, but he told the Cardinal that he had drawn a blank after strip searching Shivanand.

My question, if he had the sign all along at the base of his scalp, then how come his mother does not seem to know anything about it?

Aunty, I think Dadi knows about the tattoo(on Sivanand as well as on Rudra) but unaware of its relevance.

Sorry for my ignorance. Where was it shown that Shivanand has a Garuda sign in his scalp? And if dadaji had it and he is dead, then one of the rakshaks is gone?

Just caught with all the discussions.
Happy, what can we say about Maya?

She called Rudra bhole bhandari! That's another name for shiva

He has been called Neelkanth by dadi, who probably sees his destiny

But, Maya with her limited world view, still thinks of him as bhola

Well, in a way that's right, because Shiva has many roops and he is different forms to difefrent people!

Santhi, Appu, when did she fall for him - why how can you define that moment, it was in a series of small moments and she has always worn her heart on her sleeve and made it obvious for the world to see.

Thapadiya ma saw it, Katherine saw it, her nanu and mamas saw it, and Rudra knows it, maimui knew it!

Arshi, been wanting to ask you, my expert on the nuances of Hindi, about the style used by Rudr & Maya. Both use 'hum' when referring to themselves... Is that an upper- class/educated lingo compared to Maimui 's more earthy speech?
And how come Rudr hasn't lost that style of speech after 24 years away from his family? When he,s with Dadi, I felt he sometimes lapsed into Maimui's style, and when he was in Benares he seemed to switch between the two? Is that correct?

Btw did Maimui call him Neelkanth , not Dadi?

Saw the new promo last night. so Shivananda is a Rakshak too, and has been hiding his Garuda imprint under his beehive.
Well, I am glad that horrendous mop of hair had a real deep and divine purpose to it!

Shyamala, I guess dadi knew of her son's imprint, but as pointed out, she doesn't really know the significance of this mark, and considers it a heresy to delve deep into it, and feels that it must not neither be questioned nor flaunted.

Shiva though seems to have been aware of its significance, hence he hid his own and cautioned Rudra about hiding his!

I guess the mark on his hand was just a man made tattoo...

Santhi, you have raised a very interesting question - do rakshaks die? Are there only 7 born through eternity?

This is exactly what I was thinking a few moments ago, and I saw you raising this very question.

Here's my thoughts on this, I guess many will be there, with the potential, and in many degrees too maybe.

Also since the Amrit emerges every 144 years, I guess we also have sleeper rakshaks like dadaji, whose time has not yet come, we may also have reluctant rakshaks and those who may deny their powers...

I also feel that it is around the Mahakumbh that the rakshaks gather their strength and the active ones are drawn towards Mahakumbh. Maybe of all the possible rakshaks, their would be 7 chosen ones who are the strongest and the best!

The rakshaks obviously are not immortal!
