And how come Rudr hasn't lost that style of speech after 24 years away from his family? When he,s with Dadi, I felt he sometimes lapsed into Maimui's style, and when he was in Benares he seemed to switch between the two? Is that correct?

Btw did Maimui call him Neelkanth , not Dadi?

Oops, ta it was maimui!

Using hum to refer to themselves is typical UP hindi style, and not just in upper classes.

In fact in UP, we hardly ever hear main or tu, it's hum and tum ! As for the nuances of his speech, ya he does mix up street style with an aristocratic style...

I am with you on all the rest, Arshi, but re: daadi, the point is not that she does not understand the significance of the garuda chinna.

The point is that she clearly mentions that her husband had it, and adds that Rudra has it. Why then does she not mention that Shivanand too has it? That too when she is condemning his obsession with investigating its significance and its links with the Saraswati Kund and the amrit?

It is clearly very odd.

As for the rakshaks, yes, they can hardly be immortal. I am sure they are reborn and thus make sure that for the 144 years Mahakumbh, there are 7 all ready and accounted for. I thought that Rudra might be a reincarnation of his grandfather, but that won't wash, as his dadi is a suhagan when he is 4 years old; she is wearing that red bindi when she hugs him.

You are a wicked girl, what with your beehive, which reminded me of Sharmila Tagore in her early films😉, and your I am glad that horrendous mop of hair had a real deep and divine purpose to it!😉😉

Saw the new promo last night. so Shivananda is a Rakshak too, and has been hiding his Garuda imprint under his beehive.

Well, I am glad that horrendous mop of hair had a real deep and divine purpose to it!

Shyamala, I guess dadi knew of her son's imprint, but as pointed out, she doesn't really know the significance of this mark, and considers it a heresy to delve deep into it, and feels that it must not neither be questioned nor flaunted.

Shiva though seems to have been aware of its significance, hence he hid his own and cautioned Rudra about hiding his!

I guess the mark on his hand was just a man made tattoo...

Santhi, you have raised a very interesting question - do rakshaks die? Are there only 7 born through eternity?

This is exactly what I was thinking a few moments ago, and I saw you raising this very question.

Here's my thoughts on this, I guess many will be there, with the potential, and in many degrees too maybe.

Also since the Amrit emerges every 144 years, I guess we also have sleeper rakshaks like dadaji, whose time has not yet come, we may also have reluctant rakshaks and those who may deny their powers...

I also feel that it is around the Mahakumbh that the rakshaks gather their strength and the active ones are drawn towards Mahakumbh. Maybe of all the possible rakshaks, their would be 7 chosen ones who are the strongest and the best!

The rakshaks obviously are not immortal!

yes, he clearly is not a reincarnate, though as you pointed out, rakshaks maybe recycled by the Gods above

Thanks Arshi, for clearing up the nuances of UP-wala Hindi for me... 🤗

I dont want to twist my head around the immortality or lack thereof of the rakshaks!!!
A puzzling question for those of you who saw the fancy new trailer... why were there two versions of Rudr in it? Was the long-haired one supposed to represent a Rudr Past or some such???

This Team MK likes to keep us on tippy-toes, I tell you!!!😉

Yes that's what Shiva says .. Har yug mein tumhi ne un bure shaktiyon se lad kar Amrit ki Raksha ki hai. Is mahakumbh mein bhi tum he hi...

I am from South but would like to add that Rudra's hindi is just small-town/village like. has a dehaati tinge to it. And is not urbanized. There would be a mix of both slang and shuddh paribhasha in such cases. I see that in other Indian languages too.

Again, Can someone tell me how does Balivesh know that Rudra is aware of his panth?Today too, he refers to Rudra being the last heir of Brahma Nisht panth.
I might have missed some parts(i tend to skip some) but I am sure some of you watch end-to-end.

I don't recall anyone telling him about this or showing us this. But Nanu when he first meets Rudra tells him that he and Rudra's grandpa were friends, and that there was Saraswati Kund in their ashram. Do we assume that he found out by asking or remembers all this. Anyone else please throw light on this..

Santhi,
Rudra does talk the hindi of a rustic UP bhaiyya. Yesterday he said - sodh and pratisodh, instead of 'shodh and pratishodh' ( research and revenge ) as said by Balivesh.

So he uses pure hindi words as done in UP, but says 's' instead of 'sh'

Aparna and Santhi,

How do they know that Rudra knows of his lineage?

Well, that's been left unanswered, but again, they have made it obvious that they have brought Rudra into their fold knowing who he is, and Maya bringing him here was part of a plan.

A show where characters piece together a lot of information, and things are not spelled out, a lot is left for us to figure out, achcha, so they know this... Very real life don't you think?
