Arjun smiled at Babhruvahan who stood before him on his chariot waiting to fulfill his desire. He raised his hand in blessing. He then turned his head sideways and saw his horse Pawan seized by Manipur soldiers.He then took his Gandiv and stood on the ground and signalled his soldiers to move backwards.
The celestials,Siddhas and Rishis got excited to watch the fight between the father and son. Indra stood in space with a tensed up face as he knew his son has to endure the curse of Vasus. He then looked at Ulupi who stood away from the battlefield unseen by her husband.Indra felt relieved Ulupi is there to revive his son. Nothing to worry.
The battle started with Babhruvahan showering arrows continuously with great precision. Arjun got elated and received those arrows without resisting . Babhru again showered whetted shafts that struck Arjun on his shoulders and one keen shaft pierced Arjun on his left shoulder came out and struck in the earth.It caused severe pain to Arjun.
Arjun praised Babhru " Well done my son. Now you proved your worth." He then shot Babhru with great speed. Next moment Babhru's chariot broke and his horses got killed. Babiru stood on the ground chariot less.
Ulupi is waiting with bated breath.Let the moment arrive and pass by. She prayed to Mahadev Sankar.
After a fierce encounter,Babhru shot a deadly arrow on Arjun's chest and next moment Arjun lost. Consciousness and fell on the ground. Babhru also got struck by Arjun's arrow and fell down unconscious.
There was huge uproar among the people around. The Rishis raised their voices and chanted Santi mantras.Mahadev and Uma Parvati stood together looking down and raised their hands in blessing.
Suddenly a royal chariot halted there and Chitrangada descended from that.She ran towards Arjun and stood stupified. Next moment she glanced at Upupi who placed an assuring hand on her shoulder.
Chitra removed her hand and touched Arjun's feet. Tears started rolling down her eyes blurting her vision. She then sat down and placed Arjun's feet on her lap.She sobbed continuously and addressed Arjun." Get up Arya, Why are you lying down here? Take your horse Pawan and go to your Eldest. He must be waiting for you.
Chitra touched his curly hair and lamented." Is this the way I want to meet you after many years? Are you angry with me for making my son disregard you and hurt you? If you want I will punish him. But please get up and look at your Chitra."
Chitra wept bitterly and then suddenly addressed Ulupi" Naga Princess! I always treated you with respect. I considered you my sister. I heard from my people that you instigated Babhru to fight with his father.Why did you do that?
Are you angry with him because he neglected you and cared more for me? Or You are miffed with his flirty nature? Isn't polygamy acceptable for Kshatriyas?
Ulupi Because of you this grave incident happened. Now you only have to revive him. If you don't do so I will sit here and die with Prayopavesh." Chitra looked at Ulupi with annoyance and became silent.
Babhru recovered from his stupor and saw his mother with his father's feet on her lap. Chitra did not even look at him. Babhru had tears in his eyes. How could he do such sinful act. He can not forgive himself.He then saw Ulupi who approached him to tell something. Babhru did not let her speak. He accused her with harsh words.
" Jyesht Mata Be happy now. You made me do the most wretched thing on this earth. There is no redemption for me.I have to forego my life breaths and follow my father. I am the worst son of my valourous father. Here I sit along with my mother. We both will end our lives."
Babhru sat on the ground beside his mother. Ulupi desparately tried to console him." Babhru. Why are you acting like a fool? Who will be there that are capable to defeat your father? Even if all the gods with Indra come together it won't happen. This is an illusion created by me."
Babhru stared at her confused and shocked.
Princess get up please. What happened to you? Malini shook Draupadi who is unconscious . Arya is in meditation. They just finished the worship of Katyayani with thousand flowers. Arya is in deep meditation. Her face shone with splendour and her posture indicated she would not come back from her Dhyan that soon.
Subhadra is staring at the Goddess with a strange expression on her face. She is silent. She did not respond to Kunti who is agitated as Subhadra is never seen like that before. She looked as if she is communicating with Katyayani.
And Draupadi fell unconscious as soon as the puja got finished. Before falling back she murmured" Govind... Arjun."
Kunti shouted and called Krishna there." Kanha Kanha save us." Kunti felt a strange pain in her heart. Is her Phalgun safe? She looked at Krishna questioningly.
Krishna nodded his head. He walked towards Subhadra and Subhadra looked up." Yog Maya understood Narayan's message and again turned towards Katyayani.
Krishna looked at Panchali who is unconscious. He then sat down in Padmasan and closed his eyes.
Narayan contacted Nara's soul.
