The difference in Sakhyas with Ram is that, they (friends of Him) were the ones who lended support to Ram without expecting returns to begin with, be it Guha or Sugriv or Vibhishan. The latter two got returns but they were definitely Bhagavathottams.

It's the other way round with Krishna. Right from his birth he shows he is super human/Divine. He was the one who gave everything (Himself) to Parth or Uddhav or Sudhama.

Hanuman is NOT in friendship list. He is epitome of Daasyam. His Bhakti is beyond words just like Prahlad's

Oh, thank you for explaining this -- now that you pointed it out, yes i can see that. 😊Here friendship is a form of devotion and submission, no? So how does that relate to what you are saying about Krishna Sakhya?

Other examples of Sakhya Bhakti -
1. Krishna-Sudama
2. Krishna-Uddhav
3. Rama-Vibhishana
4. Rama-Sugriva
5. All the gopas & gopis of Vraja 😳
6. Krishna-Draupadi (how can we forget sakha-sakhi?)

Does Rama-Jambavant come under sakhya bhakti?
After Treta Yuga, Jambavant got a glimpse of his Lord once more in the Dwapar Yuga...and then Krishna became Jambavant's jamai 😳

Thank you, dear. 😳

Yes gopas and gopis and Krishna-Krishnaa --- who can forget them! Krishna-Panchaali friendship is a thing of beauty in itself.πŸ˜†

Lord Ram was seeking friends support while Friends of Kanhaiyya were seeking Krishna's support. Friend in need is a friend indeed 😊

Lord Krishna says that whoever remembers Him in what ever form, He will appear to him in that form. For Mother Yasoda, He became the infant Kanhaiyya and for Arjuna, He gave friend's love as Paarth considered the Lord as his friend. Same case with Sudhama or Uddhava. I am not sure if you have read pottanna Bhagavat. You can see how Lord Krishna asks Rukmini to turn her eyes towards Sudhama's house (in that direction) and the wealth he got is history.

For Arjuna and the Pandavas, the Lord became their Sarathy, driver, and even became their servant at times, sharpening their Swords for the War and cleaning their shoes etc. at times. Arjuna was always treated equal to the Lord , there is none above or below. They took meals on the same plate and even played on the same fields.

The eighth Bhakthi Marg says that Sakhyam or friendship is another way of Bhakthi
.

Arjuna never disobeyed Krishna, he was always following Him and His advises, when Ashwathama was brought to justice, Arjuna had done exactly what Krishna told him to do, it was a splendid example of friendship. Lord Krishna gave the Divine eyes to Arjuna to see His Virat Roop .
Here is where he does Saranagathi or Submission
Sarva dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja

and it's history that the Bhagavat Geetha was told to Arjuna directly from Krishna's mouth at the battle fields.

Lord Ram is Raja Ramchandra 😊, He is King of Kings (King of Samrats), all his friends were more sevak to Him.
Whereas Lord Krishna will give Himself to his Sakha. You will see Soulabhyam with Krishna
That's why people easily get connected to Krishna 😊. But Never undermine Lord Ram and His friends πŸ˜‰

Medha,
Just asking you this question because you are so in love with Krishna

Have you ever been to Guruvayur ? If you get a chance please do, I am NOT too sure of many other places
where You can see the below Srimad Bhagavat verses in front of your eyes.

tam-adbhutam bAlakam-ambujekShaNaM, caturbhujam shanka-gadAdyudhAyudhaM, shrIvatsa-lakShmaM gala-shobhi-kaustubhaM , pItAmbaraM sAndra-payoda-saubhagaM, mahArha-vaiDUrya-kirITa-kuNDala-tviShA pariShvakta-sahasra-kuntalaM , uddAma-kAnchyangada-kankaNAdibhiH virAjamAnaM vasudeva aikShata

Jambavan was a Bhagavathottama but he was not a sakha whereas GUHA, SUGRIV and VIBHISHAN were.

Just reminds me of the friendship Lord Rama shared with Guha. This is from Thirumangai Azhwar ( he is a staunch Ram Bhakta )

Loose Translation
Lord Ram made friendship with Guha, the hunter chief without considering his caste, occupation and intellectual cadre. He blessed him by saying "here is my wife seeta. Consider her as Your friend. Here is my brother LakShmaNa, Consider him as Your brother. Ram felt happy about his Sakhya with Guha. He told guha to come and stand by Him.

AzhwAr says""Oh! rAma! Your words to him have entered my mind and remain there. I was drawn by Your guNa and believe firmly that You take me as You did guha without considering my short comings.

O.M.G yes, i have been there -- was quite young but i have not forgotten that unexplainable feeling -- they call it bhulok vaikunth for a reason. The idol was of Vishnu, and still it is called a Krishna temple. It is believed that the idol was worshipped by Devaki and Vasudeva and by extension, Kanha. It had given me such a thrill.

Nope same age or just a little older -- since both were younger than bheem and Arjun was only a year younger than bheem.
