So true.. they have distorted Bhishma's character the most😭😭 No respect for him frm either Dhrit, Dury, Dushy..Shakuni keeps on insulting him whenever he gets chance..Even the relation between him and Arjuna was not shown properly in this show..Hope they show how much Arjun adored him atleast during his death scene..

Pretty much agree. The 3rd was also kind of a stalemate. The forenoon belonged to the Pandavas who were carrying on from where they left off on the 2nd day. Dury then spoke very harshly to Bheeshma who in anger started destroying the Pandava army. So much so that it forced Lord Krishna to drop the reins of the chariot and pick up the wheel to attack Bheeshma.

Actually, Krishna broke his vow to make Arjuna realize that he is still holding himself back against his Pitamaha. This was the sole reason Krishna broke his vow.

I really wonder on how people got the impression that Krishna broke his vow because Bhishma was too much for Arjuna. ( Please provide citation which states this as a sole reason ) .No, this isn't the reason, Arjuna was still holding himself back and was not using his full power, hence Krishna gave him a practical version of Geeta. No vow is bigger than Dharma - was the teaching of Krishna to Bhishma. ( this is my personal interpreation of Krishna giving a seekh to Bhishma about his vow)

Who posted that Bhishma was too much for Arjuna nd that's the sole reason Krishna broke his vow? 😕
We have been discussing the devotional angle between lord nd his devotee, not anyone's superiority over another. He broke his vow to fulfil Bhishma's, that's 100% clear, another reason may be Arjuna's unwillingness to injure Bhishma.

When did I take anyone's name?, You used 'We' in your post but I did not direct my post towards you or anyone from the discussion that happened a few pages back. I did not question his devotional angle, I did not say that he was a fool and I certainly did not use unnecessary sarcasm which your post certainly does. If using unnecessary sarcasm towards a member is the definition of a debate, please count me out.

It would be great if anyone can provide a citation - which states that Krishna broke his vow to keep Bhishma's words.

Thanks for the citation but it does not state any reason for Krishna's act. It sure does show the devotion of Bhishma - which I did not question.

I was expecting a citation from KMG since this incident is from Mahabharata. I am not ridiculing Bhagvat Purana, but KMG would be more appropriate for this scene.

SB 1.9.37 Fulfilling my desire and sacrificing his own promise, He got down from the chariot, took up its wheel, and ran towards me hurriedly, just as a lion goes to kill an elephant. He even dropped His outer garment on the way.

This is a part of Bhishma stuti. I don't know whether it's a part of KMG or not, Geeta press contains his set of prayers perhaps.

Krishna personally attended Bhishma's classes to Yudi nd even stood before him during his last moments. There r a lot more dealings, so breaking vow for Bhishma isnt that big deal.
