YOu dont sound like a seventeen year old shruthi😊

very true! Especially this girl's pure devotion nd thirst of knowledge for Bhishma amazes me. Generally girls of this age only go gaga over the actors nd possess a typical amateur fangiri without knowledge or respect for the char. She's exceptional ⭐️

Thanks Shruti. Yes, that's what I love about this track. A great lesson for us all mortals

Thanks Shani😊
My observations, completely related to the epic -
1. Is it possible to understand the purpose of "peace talks" from Draupadi's POV alone? I'm talking about the epic Draupadi who NEVER spoke of being anti-war or peace.

Draupadi wanted justice and I'm sure if peace negotiations had succeeded, Krishna would have made sure her offenders were punished in one way or another. It's a matter of speculation, what that punishment would have been...

2. Offer of five villages - was it "deliberate", considering that Dury was NEVER going to relent?

I think it was kind of like a bribe. Here I agree with Shakuni on SP version- the Pandavs could still have overpowered HP once they were owners of the five villages. We know how they established IP in a forest so a village was a better option.

3. Completely agree with your point of God being a karmayogi. I mean, the war was necessary to fulfill one of the many purposes of Krishnavatara. Yet Krishna did His "kartavya" of being a peace emissary.
But if ⭐️Krishna was being so pro-war, then why give those sad, longing looks? Never understood the reason for it...and what was the purpose of revealing it all to Draupadi? It's NOT like she initiated the peace talks or something...

Yes, I agree. SP goofed up there. There was no need to reveal the future to Draupadi and Krishna's sad looks gave away a lot too. Very against the concept of nishkaam karma IMO. I think in trying make Draupadi's philosophy more acceptable to certain sections of people, they changed both her and Krishna's character😕

4. Those individuals who are on the side of "dark" will always choose "dark", even if the path of "light" is offered to them...yes, as Krishna said unless your way of thinking changes, your actions will never change

unless they change their way of thinking as Krishna said yesterday😃 God will always give an opportunity to see the 'light'- like he did to Dhrit but he preferred to stay in the dark

there are two ways to look at the peace negotiations in the epic. One is draupadi's POV who is anti peace and one is pandavas POV who are pro peace

and both POV's are right even though they are opposite.Draupadi was only a woman at that time.A woman who represents all the insulted woman of the world .Hence her wanting war to get justice for herself was right.Any self respecting woman will never let her perpetrators go easily

whereas pandavs were not only husbands they were kings and princes as well hence had to think beyond duties of a husband .They understood the kind of destruction this war would cause and were ready to forget everything for the sake of peace.

Both pandavs and draupadi were doing what was right as per them which is the beauty of the peace negotiations at least for me .Two opposing POV yet none of them were wrong

Yes, I agree and that's how it is in the real world too. We saw that before American troops were sent to Afghanistan after 9/11. One could understand both sides

also this effort for peace absolves pandavas to a large extent from the guilt of the destruction this war caused because they tried their best to stop it.Even krishna ji i believe was not too pro war when he did go for the peace negotiation he wholeheartedly wanted peace and didnt want to create destruction.Because he does make another attempt after the failed peace negotiations to stop the war.

Agreed- Krishna was willing to bend over backwards to give peace a chance but Dury like all arrogant dictators in history was too stubborn and ignorant

now talking about the SB version i didnt like how they distorted the reason for pandavs and krishna wanting peace and drauapdi wanting war but i am still glad they showed it

They twisted the track and characterization a bit too much but I'm glad they finally reached their destination as was visualized in the epic

Great article Bheegi...👏

Very thoughtful indeed...😊
Every person in the epic, thought about the war from their own perspective...
As for Draupadi being pro-war, I don't think that she wanted killing at this scale. She only wanted the Kauravas, Shakuni, Karna and Jaydrath to be killed.
We cannot overlook that Draupadi was a woman, and even though she was extremely intelligent and different from women of her time, it shouldn't be overlooked that women in those days were more knowledgeable about feminine stuff, than wars and battles.
She probably didn't realize that her desire for justice would bring about such a large scale destruction.
As for the Pandavas, they fought the war to get back their land...Draupadi's vastraharan was only an excuse that was used...Ofcourse, they tried hard to avoid war, but thanks to Duryodhan's insecurity, greed and ego...war eventually took place.
