----part 3----

it was dark..it was cold ..it was white .. white ..white..everywhere..both of them were curled with blankets as close as they could possibly get to the fire without burning themselves..arjun was tired..falling out of a cliff generally drained you..and karn was extremely caring about the whole situation making a fire getting blankets and all..making arjun wonder if the king of anga was maybe not the arrogant archer faithful sidekick of duryodhan after all..he felt an unresolved need to find out more about him but he couldnt just walk up to him and ask him "hey.. u saved my life today..so ive gotta feeling that maybe you are not dhuryodhans lapdog afte all so can you please tell me more about yourself" arjun mentally snickered the look on angaraajs face if he did say that would be priceless..he sighed .. sitting and staring at the fire dint give him any solution .. he wished madhav was here.. life would be so much easier..he also couldn't believe he had actually fallen from the cliff .. if his brothers had been there..how embarrassing..he finally stiffened himself..asking a few questions wouldn't hurt..now where is that famous kuru courage ?? angaraaj.. he started . iw ont tell karn replied..arjun looked at him blankly .. i wont tell anyone what happenned today..u can pretend that nothing ever happened he said stiffly..arjun was shocked...no wait.. he said..im tired .. ive put up the tents for both of us .. im going to bed..he said .. the fire flickered and died..he left..leaving arjun alone..in the dark

karn was fuming .. he couldn't believe arjun.. he had hoped maybe arjun would like to talk to him .. get to know him after all they were alone in the Himalayas he could use some company.. he had wanted a fresh start with him,..he was willing to put their differences aside..was willing to forget their legendary enmity and actually know arjuns character..there must be something he had thought .. that attracted everyone to arjun like moths to a flame.. he had seen that arjun was tired and done everything in his power to help him feel relaxed and comfortable with him,, but no..it would never be enough for him..why had he even thought arjun was worth his time ?? he cursed the king of hastinapur the thousanth time for sending him off to this trip..but even now much to karns furious annoyance he still cared .. he wanted to make sure he was okay.. he convinced himself that it was only because arjun was injured..but a small voice which was becoming increasing hard to ignore these days in the back of his head asked him.. is that all ?? he dint have an answer.. he sighed .. he walked out of his tent just to make sure arjun was okay.. he had left to his tent... of course a thankyou wouldve been nice he whispered to the darkness.. there was no reply..

------------PART 4--------------

The next day there was silence when arjun woke up...Angaraaj was still in bed...it was making arjun nervous and he dint like it ... whenever he and karn where together..They always made eye contact...Even though it was only because of the fighting ...still there was no silence between them...The bickering between the two of them was so normal...That everyone felt the hastinapur rajya sabha would be incomplete without their fighting...They fought so much that it wasn't even like they were fighting anymore..it was like one was always trying to outsmart the other..Arjun generally won in their verbal spats...he called it the madhav effect...Keep talking with madhav...u eventually end up being good at arguing...But if there was some situation when he felt that the angaraaj was right and he was wrong even though he wouldn't admit it..He'd say something random that no one would understand... hed leave it to them to figure out and leave because hed have some urgent work to attend that needed his attention immediately..Madhav would have been proud with the things arjun could come up with..He was bored...He wanted company...Here there was no Bheem and Nakul to annoy...No Yudhi to argue with...no calm Sahdev talking about the future..No Panchali or Satya to irritate and rile up...no Subhadra to tease... or no MADHAV to be crazy with...he was stuck here with the one person in the whole of aryavart who his charm couldn't 😉 attract...AND.HE.WASN'T.HAPPY.ABOUT.IT...well he went and sat on the slope..Under the only fir tree that was available...And started humming a nice tune...

Karn woke up to someone singing beautifully somewhere..Who was singing here in the middle of nowhere?? He wondered ... he walked out of his tent .. There was no one..Trust arjun to still be asleep...he muttered to himself...Stupid prince...he was still sour over last night...He followed the divine voice..And froze...of all the people he moaned ... no mystery why everyone likes him ... he thought to himself... he walked over to arjun..Rivalry aside arjun really could sing beautifully..He walked over and sat beside arjun who opened his eyes as though he was waking up from some kind of trance... he turned and smiled at him... It completely threw him...did "prince.im too awesome" just smile at me he asked himself mentally... he even pinched himself to check if he was awake or not...after making sure he was awake and his mind wasn't playing tricks on him..He asked... why don't you sing more often?? he mentally slapped himself...Of all the things he could've asked his arch rival he asked him why he dint sing ???Arjun sighed wistfully before replying...oh angaraaj you really don't want to know ...why??He asked his curiosity peaked...once in hastina... We all sleep together you know that right the five of us?? Karn nodded... well I got up early one morning and all my brothers were asleep...I started singing.. Bheem loved it soo much he got up and try to make his way to me even before opening his eyes he tripped over his dresser which broke and fell on top of the sleeping nakul...Who as usual had to be the drama queen and screamed waking everyone in the vincity immediately...arjun sighed sadly..I haven't sang since then..Karn had never laughed so much in his life... god the mental image of Nakul screaming...Bheem falling...And Arjun's shocked expression...he continued to laugh..Karn had a very infectious laugh..If he started laughing people couldn't help but join him..Soon both of them were collapsed in a fit of giggles...

Much later almost 15 years later... when they knew of their true relation...for arjun not meeting panchali or subhadra or his amazing moments of happiness with his brothers or for karn the time he had met duryodhan or vrushali.. Those soft moments of happiness between him and dury no...until their last breath .. It was these memories that the soul of one mother...Divided by destiny...These two young men...treasured more than anything else
