Salim Khan, I'm guessing, was most probably merely consulted in an adviser capacity in the beginning, with the final say going to the show's makers. Just like Devdutt Pattnaik, who I heard, was a consultant for the show, but later left due to creative differences, not hard to see why. But Salim Khan would have been consulted as an expert on Sanskritized Hindi and not as a Mahabharata expert, which Pattnaik is. All in all, one cannot hold either responsible for the distortions. From what I've seen so far of Indian TV, the writers do not have complete independence in how the plot proceeds.

Usually there are multiple people who work on the screenplay and the dialogue.

He was a warrior prince of an ancient kingdom who had pride of his weapons as well as his royal blood, did not weep for his enemies, berated Karna's parentage and swore to kill him from day one, did not bow before women, had no qualms about marrying multiple women etc etc.. You can't depict such a character as any normal college boy. That sort of portrayal may do well for any normal sit-com or rom-com but barely makes sense in an ancient war epic.

As for Draupadi, I think her character is more matriarchal rather than strong. She wields too much political and social power, issues order to her elders on their face, threatens to undo her marriage, bosses around her sycophant husbands, combats Kichaka alongside Bhim etc..Draupadi did berate her elders and husbands, but with sarcasm and disgust provoking their guilt and not from position of authority.

My point is, the CVs have been quite casual with the context and the age in which the story is set.

I so agree with this. Since it is Indian TV we are talking about, on which there is no dearth of substandard content, we can perhaps overlook these points, which call for advanced and mature screenwriting that does not pander to modern day sensibilities.

The epic quite strongly paints the picture of an era, so different from our own today, and peeps into the lives of individuals, whose way of life may well be beyond what we can fathom today. Where is the royal grandeur, the pride of royalty bordering on arrogance which the Kuru princes so often display in the epic? Trying to reduce these ancient characters as ordinary people is another distortion and injustice to MB. It is quite apparant from their actions, that although the kshatriya class considered it their duty to serve and help their subjects, they never considered themselves as one of them, at times even above them, which explains the snobbery of the Pandavas and Bhishma towards Karna.

As it is, ⭐️Yudi has already become a willing accomplice in Krishna's chhal. So, Drona might not necessarily trust his words so easily (even if he is a truth teller).

Also, ⭐️Arjun uttering the half-truth to Drona might not be entirely surprising if you look at it, considering that in ⭐️B, Arjun's one constant sentence to Drona has always been,"Kyaa aap ko mujh par vishwaas nahin, Gurudev?"

So, no surprises if this sentence does get uttered by Arjun one final time on Day 15...

In any case, CVs are always looking to invent their own drama where none exists.
So, what better drama and bigger irony than Drona being lied to by his favourite student (of all people) - that too, someone whom Drona himself claims to trust fully?

If Bhishma gets taken down in a 6 v/s 1 manner (Shikhandi shot arrows in today's epi, and as per the precap, all FIVE Pandavas will subsequently shoot arrows on Monday), then can the 7 v/s 1 fight ever be called "unfair" with regards to Abhimanyu?

Especially when the 6 v 1 was against AN UNARMED BHISHMA!!!
😆😆

Looks like Abhi's death will be much more gruesome.

Oh yes! 6 men are attacking an 'Unarmed'. So how come Abhimanyu's killing can be tagged unfair?

I was watching the older epis, and one question suddenly struck me -
Who will kill Drupad in the ⭐️kshetra war?

In the epic, Drona kills Drupad on Day 15.

But, in ⭐️B, one of the wishes that ⭐️Drupad had from the gods was that he wanted a son who would not only kill Drona, but also present Drona's head at his feet ("mujhe kaamna hai aise putra ki jo Drona ka sheesh kaatkar mere charanon mein arpit kar de").

Therefore, in ⭐️B, according to this particular wish of ⭐️Drupad, Drona should die before Drupad since Drona's kataa hua sheesh needs to be "presented" at ⭐️Drupad's feet.

So, if Drona is supposed to die first, who will kill Drupad now?
And when will Drupad die?
