Probably it might have been distributed among them and they could have flourished as minor kingdoms owing allegiance to whoever sits in Hastinapur. Ofcourse no documentation means we can only speculate.

Not sure if Jaimini's version of MB had more details. His Ashwamedha parva was seriously detailed.

Madra may have had a survivor, since one account of Parikshit has it that he married Shalya's granddaughter Madravati.

The other wives did have sons who are listed in Adi Parva but there's no account of when they were born, whether they took part in the war & died, or were kids @ the time of the war. I'm assuming that Parikshit was chosen since he symbolized an alliance b/w the Pandavas, Vrishnis & Matsyas.

Guess vyas ji was in a hurry so forgot to mention other kids. Maybe those kids also died in the midnight massacre
Or as Vrish says Parikshit was chosen on above account . But if that was the case and there were Pandava sons who were survivors I doubt if it would have occurred to Ashwi to go for Women's womb as his objective wouldn't have been met

Btw was Ashwi a bit silly on directing the Astra towards women's wombs???
Men could always remarry and there was always the Niyog facility available

Probably, Ashwi was seething with anger and revenge and couldn't think properly.

Maybe this has been asked and answered before, but I'm too lazy to check...

Blood shampoo - part of KMG or not?

If yes, can someone please provide citations regarding the same?

No Open hair, no Blood shampoo... Draupadi mentions her braided hair in Kamyaka vana to Krishna.. Bhim drinks Dushi's blood and scene over..

Thank you...

I was reading about "dishevelled" hair in Vana Parva, and I'm pretty sure it didn't mean "open hair"...but just wanted a clarification 😊

Did Gandhari really have a boon to save one of her sons? If yes then how was Bheem able to slain Duryodhan despite of that boon? 😕

No it does not happen in the epic, this is a folklore, in the epic Duryodhana was a class apart mace fighter, he was superior to Bhima in skill and hence Bhima had to cheat in order to win.

The folklore - Duryodhana is about to go naked in-front of his mother so that can his mother can make his body of Vajra, Krishna tells Duryodhana that is it not appropriate to go in-front of your mother naked, after all he is all grown up now, Duryodhana accepts this advice and wraps a loin cloth around his thighs, Gandhari opens her eyes and Duryodhan's body transforms into Vajra except the thighs, in the battle Bhima slays Duryodhana by hitting on his thigh. ( Hitting on thigh is not allowed in a mace fight ).

[ This is a very rough version of the folklore, if anyone finds it incorrect - please feel free to correct it ]

Not part of KMG.

Gandhari asks Dury to come before her completely unclothed so that she can bless EVERY part of his body with her vision. Krishna tells Dury that it is inappropriate for a grown-up man to appear in front of his mother completely naked. So, Dury "covers himself" and appears before Gandhari. THAT part of his body did not "get blessed" by Gandhari's vision.

During the mace fight, Bhima hit Dury on the thigh, smashing it. This was illegal in a mace fight. But in the process, Bhima completed his pran of breaking Dury's thigh.

There is another version... In dyutsabha duryodhan asks draupadi to sit on his lap by slapping his thighs... so bheem vows to destroy his thighs...

Actuallly bheem and duryodhan are equally talented...but duryodhananz whole body except thighs became vajra due to gandhariz blessings... so krishna shows bheema to hit his thighs to defeat him during the fight...
