Also another difference between CE and KMG is that while krishna ji claims karna was part of Bhima's poisoning during the final hours of karna's death no such claim's are made in CE

this is what krishna ji says in CE

Sanjaya said, "Vasudeva was stationed on his chariot. He said, O Radheya! It is fortunate that you remember dharma. Quite often, when they are immersed in hardships, inferior ones censure destiny, but not their evil deeds. O Karna! When you, Suyodhana, Duhshasana and Shakuni Soubala brought Droupadi to the assembly hall in a single garment, did dharma not show itself to you? When, in the assembly hall, Yudhishthira, who was not skilled at dice, was defeated by Shakuni, who was skilled at dice, where did dharma go then? O Karna! During her season, Krishna798 was under Duhshasana's subjugation in the assembly hall and you laughed at her. Where did dharma go then? O Karna! Resorting to the king of Gandhara and coveting the kingdom, you challenged the Pandavas.799 Where did dharma go then?' When Vasudeva addressed Radheya in this way, Pandava Dhananjaya remembered all this and was overcome by great rage. Energetic flames of anger seemed to issue out from all the pores on his body and it was extraordinary.

What happened to all the kingdoms of the warriors, who joined the war on both sides. Since almost all perished - Did they get joined to Hastinapur, since there were no adult male survivors?

Quite a number of kingdoms had new rulers, none became part of Hastinapur. In the Panchala family, I think everyone was wiped out, and same may have happened in the Matsya family.

However, if one reads Ashwamedhika Parva, Arjun's campaign is described, and he encounters a number of rulers, both whose kingdoms were on the Kaurava side, as well as even the Pandava side. First the Pandava side - the grandson of Jarasandha and the brother of Dhrishtaketu were rulers of Magadha & Chedi. Jarasandha's grandson Meghasandhi fought Arjun and was defeated and acknowledged his suzerainty. Dhrishtaketu's brother - I forget the name - welcomed Arjun @ the gates. And Babruvahana's story is well known.

But Arjun did fight wars w/ the successors of Shakuni, Jayadrath, Susharma and Bhagadatta, and defeated them. It was during this that he encountered Dushala after a hard fought battle w/ the Saindava army.

Thank you. 😊 So I'm assuming not everyone from a particular kingdom, joined the war. Does that mean that Yudi ruled over Panchala and Matsya, since anyway their daughters were married into the Pandava family?

What does the Critical edition say about Karna's VIjaya bow?.

As always, KMG contradicts this as well, one para says that Vijaya bow was of Rukmi and Karna says that his Guru Parshurama gifted him, I lean towards the latter because Karna admitted that he had the Vijaya bow with him when he got Brahmin's curse, he was practicing with his Vijaya bow and Brahmin's cow got killed.

So which incident do we believe?, I hope CE has some clarity.

Matsya would be a geographical stretch for Yudhi to rule, since it was ways out. I do think Virata may have had minor survivors who kept the dynasty going.

Panchala may well have been annexed

Didn't Drishtdumna or Shikhandi have some small children who could have survived ???

I believe even Madra was also without any ruler. There is no mention of the Pandava sons from other wives (especially YBNS).

Probably it might have been distributed among them and they could have flourished as minor kingdoms owing allegiance to whoever sits in Hastinapur. Ofcourse no documentation means we can only speculate.

Not sure if Jaimini's version of MB had more details. His Ashwamedha parva was seriously detailed.

Shakuni's son ruled Gandhar, while Jayadratha's son ruled Sindhu. During Ashwamedha parva when he hears of Arjun coming to attack Sindhu, he has a heart attack and dies. Dusshala then meets Arjun with her baby grandson and submits to Arjun who then makes peace. After that probably Dusshala would have ruled as regent till that baby was big enough to take over.
