- "Aaj pad-chaap nahi sunaai diye Maharaj!"

Translation - Didn't you hear my footsteps today, o king!

- "Singhasan par baith kar pranipaat nahi kiya jata. Kadachit is baat ka bhi gyaan nahi raha aaj aap ko!"

Translation - A being shouldn't bow down while sitting on his throne. Perhaps you lack even this particular knowledge today.

- "Itne ekagra ho kar kya sunn rahe the Maharaj ki aaj aap ko mere pad-chaap nahi sunaai diye?"

Translation - What were you listening with such a fixed attention o king, that didn't let you hear my footsteps today?
