If Krishna had started talking about Sankhya, Karma , Dhyana, Bhakti and Moksha with Yudhishthira, then instead of the War, the Bhagavat Gita discussion itself would have gone on for 18 days. 😆

I think Krishna has his ways.He gave Gita gyan to Arjun and he sent Yuddhishtir to get instructions from Bheeshma when the later is laid on an arrow bed.😊

i wonder if this will make any sense to you but all the other famous warriors that we could name were too tied up in the principles and morals of the human world ... No one was ready to rise above it, all of them were great people and warriors but there was always something stopping them from seeing the bigger picture, the biggest picture ... it was their Masculine ego, the ego of a man that stops him from completely submitting himself to the supreme lord and that would be Krishna here, we take it as we are talking about him giving his knowledge to Arjuna.

I have always wondered that there were people like Bheeshma , Yudhishtira, Karna, Vidura who have been fit enough in the technical sense to have Krishna depart his knowledge to them.

Arjuna had many things that were missing in his personality if you compare him to these people. He was highly impulsive and has done some idiotic things and took some even more stupid vows that could have killed him.

Compared to these people, there were so many aspects of a great person that was missing from him. I think it was also about his humanity. He was in more touch with his human side, was closer to it than these people. While Vidura was the reincarnation of Dharma, and Yudhistira was the Dharmaraja himself.

Bheeshma and Karna were more in touch with their higher self. Karna is known for his generosity, his kindness and Charity while Bheeshma didnt made that many vows, but the once he made, he followed like the true breath of his life, the reason for his living.

Arjuna represents you and me. People like yudhishtira dont. putting their powers and skills aside, today you will not find a person whose personality is like that of Yudhishtira ... no one today has total control on his mind and heart.

Arjuna, being more human than any of these people, is greater than all of us humans of this kali age because unlike the other men of that time, his brothers, friends, relatives, enemies ... he really had given up the masculine ego and completely submitted himself to Krishna.Isnt this what we and even the people of that age were supposed to do but couldnt ... hence, neither them nor we cant attain the enlightenment that Arjuna did while we are still in our physical body.

No Dharma, No Duty, No relation, nothing was put higher than Krishna and His words, in Arjunas case.

It was about Arjuna faithfully following Krishna and always accepting every advice without even a pinch of doubt in his mind.

Do you remember the Epi where Karna told Yudhishtira that from then his "Dharma" will be to do whatever Duryodhan says.

Arjuna did the same thing but his loyalty lied at the feet of Krishna. Krishnas words were Dharma to him. No dharma, rule or duty assigned to different cast and different levels of the society was bigger than the Dharma to do whatever Krishna says.

And all the others, anyone you can name could not see past all.

i completely agree with you. by the way i have read many of your posts.they are relly good

God always uses those close to hi to serve a purpose and teach dharam. Krishna's main Purpose was to bring geeta the gyaan to the world. Arjun was just a means to do so. Also he was a very strong devotee and friend of krishna which earned him the honor. They were nar narayan in their previous life too so arjun is a part of him too.

Yes indeed.

With Arjuna, Krishna could just say "Shut Up and listen to me. Don't ask any questions and don;t answer back".

Arjuna obeyed simply because he had not done his Phd in Philosophy and did not know enough to ask intelligent questions to Krishna.

In fact- look at the Gita- Arjuna asks very basic questions. For e.g - " How does the sthithapagya manushya sit, stand, walk conduct himself ?" Heck, what was he doing when Yudhishthra was sitting, standing, walking and conducting himself ?

And during their days in exile, whenever any of the rishis visiting the Pandavas would start discussing about philosophy, Bhima, Arjuna and Draupadi would sneak away somewhere.

Only Nakula, Sahadeva and Yudhishthira would be left behind. Sahadeva and Yudi to listen to the rishis and Nakula to serve water and snacks.😆

So the point is- on the eve of the battle, Arjuna had zilch knowledge on Philosophy and Krishna thought it would be beneficial to give him a crash course.

With Yudhishthira, the case was different. Yudhishthira lived and breathed philosphy. If Krishna had started his BG lecture with Yudi, Yudi would have gotten so exicited, he would have raised counter arguments, asked the most obscure doubts and carried the discussion till Krishna himself got fed up. Yudi, being elder to him, Krishna couldn't very well say "Shut up and listen"

That's why I said earlier, had Krishna given the BG discourse to Yudi, the lecture itself would have gone on for 18 days.

Yudi was already well versed with what is dharma and what is adharma. He did not need Geeta gyaan. He,also addressed as royal sage, did not waver at the battle ground because he knew what he was doing was on the lines of dharma. He was a total "jeetendriya" ,the most dispassionate fellow, a "sthitpragna".It was because of these qualities that he was the only mortal who entered swarga in his physical body.Even Krishna had to face death. Arjun symbolises "Nara" or the ordinary mortal who needs God's guidance every now and then. He was not a dispassionate guy; hence he grew emotionally weak seeing his relatives at the battle field.
And Krishna had to impart that knowledge so who could be better than his beloved Arjun.

I am sometimes amazed at the psyche of Yudi. He was least bothered by insults, plotting, the hardships he faced , the hatred his cousins had for him. All he had was love for them.He was a true saankhya yogi.
