A Request to Mods .. comment only after reading the whole post. Thanks
From a certain time period an issue is arising in this forum. Whenever any member is trying to go beyond conventional and religious point of views and trying to put some different explanation [either by her or explanations given by historians or scholars] criticizing characters and incidents with different perspective, the post is getting closed or respective member getting some caution. Whenever someone praising Karna or anyone epic say was in wrong side or criticizing a character whom epic says was right, it is getting closed with the same religious reason. In most of the cases the reason given to us is, such criticism hurting religious believes. If this is so, then what about our "Right to Speech." Isn't this also come under our fundamental rights?
See, as per record Mahabharata and Odyssey, these two epics has been considered as all time best sellers. So, approximately at least one third of literate population in this world has read this epic. To be very honest most of them doesn't belong to the belief where Mahabharata is considered as religious book and Sri Krishna the God. The logical conclusion is most of the people read the epic with own perspective. Does it mean they don't have any right to make and speak their mind on the greatest epic world has? Then why refraining us from speaking?
I understand religious belief matters a lot and we don't have any intention to hurt them. I, myself is a HINDU and stern devotee of Mahishasurmardi Maa Durga Aadi Shakti MahaKali. But as I am raised to believe in Veda and Upanishada over everything I am open to every explanation and aspect of religious thoughts. I am not telling everyone to have the same mind set and that doesn't mean I have no respect for others. I am just asking for giving same respect to both ..
one who believes in the religious aspect of Mahabharata
one who see it as mytho-historical saga, depicting a certain society and time.
This forum is clearly divided into two above mentioned groups. So I have a suggestion which can keep this forum out of controversial troubles and prevent the forum from turning into a pandemonium .. rather say Kurukshetra.
Whenever anyone making a post in this forum please make a note above the post telling this is a religious post so refrain your comments from bringing logic here, or this is a post with critical explanation or practical perspective do not comment with devotional or religious concept.
There can be two total different posts on same subject and both groups can explain their views with no feeling of getting restricted or hurt.
I just want to remind in last era world has seen a beautiful series of literature where witchcraft has been celebrated openly. As per Bible, witchcraft is strongly prohibited still except some minor incidents we have seen how whole world (including western world) appreciated the literature just because it is a good literature. I strongly believe we also have the same tolerance and can respect all believes and non-believes maintaining a certain space.
Thanks.
