I have a better idea. Have Drupada invade North Panchala and get killed by Ashwatthama. Dhrishtadyumna becomes king and then Shikhandini gets back her job as senapati. 😈

Drupada's character has been developed as per the brainchild of these CVs for reasons only they are aware of. One can get a few glimpses of Dhritarashtra's early days gazing at Drupada. But Drupada's character has become far more annoying in comparison to that of the former Dhritarashtra. We're again left pondering with the same query...why?

So perhaps killing his character would be the best solution.

My biggest doubt is why is Sikhandini who is brought up as a woman according to this serial is still unmarried? Dury has atleast started talking about Dushala's marriage (late marriage actually) who is atleast 2-4 years younger than Sikhandini..

Did she also vow to adapt celibacy because she was born to kill Bhishma? Will she ever go for a sex change in this serial or she herself will participate in the war as she says she has cut many heads in war already?

In real no one knew she was a woman and and am ok if he was unmarried by this time though am not sure when he really got married..

After seeing Draupadi's introduction, I am getting a nasty feeling that MB will become all about Arjun and Draupadi's love story and the Mahabaharat may end up becoming Maha baraat of Arjun :P

If you're asking about Starjuna, beats me!

But in the original story, since Mahadev had told Drupada that she'd grow up to be a man, Drupada raised her as one. So when it became marriage time, she was married to the daughter of king Hiranyavarma. That was the event that almost led to war b/w him & Drupada when Mrs Shikhandini discovered that she was in a same sex marriage, and Shikhandini went to end her life, but met a yaksha who switched genders w/ her, saving her.

All this may have happened after Draupadi's marriage. That would have given Shikhandi 13-50 years to prepare for war (assuming Yudisthir ruled Indraprastha for 36 years and then the Pandava exile of 13 years)

So Shikhandini can only be shown marrying a princess - they can't marry her to a prince, unless he already happens to be an enemy of Bheeshma himself.

real one I knew.. however am not clear about the timing of Sikhandin's sex change.. I know this does not belong to this thread.. if anyone knows pls move this to D&D and enlighten me 😃

I think we should create a FF of how we can kill Drupad. I like Vrish's idea of him invading North Panchal and being killed by Aashwatthama.

But I have another good idea:

Drupad battles Drona. Drona hits Drupad on the head. Drupad gets amnesia and forgets how to form a Chakravyuh. Drona then traps Drupad in a Chakravuh and kills him. Dhiristadyumna shouts PRATISHOD!

Then Dhiristadyumna realises he can't beat Drona just yet. He wants his sister to become like a daughter to Drona so arranges her marriage with Arjun.

Why are the makers of this show hellbent of landing themselves in a mess of a plot? If killing an unarmed Drona is 'adharma' according to Krishna, how in the world are they going to justify his own plan of killing Drona using the Ashwatthama trick during the Kurukshetra war?

And just when it was inconceivable that the show could go any lower, they show Draupadi turning into the soap operaish sacrificing daughter, ready to take on the fatal blow to save her father.

Exploring possible reasons behind motivations of the characters and extrapolating is fine as long as they stay true to the spirit of the epic, but this is just pure mutilation of the story.

P.S: I know they will probably justify Krishna's actions saying Drona is on the side of 'adharma' during the war. After all who can argue with God?
