Exploring possible reasons behind motivations of the characters and extrapolating is fine as long as they stay true to the spirit of the epic, but this is just pure mutilation of the story.

P.S: I know they will probably justify Krishna's actions saying Drona is on the side of 'adharma' during the war. After all who can argue with God?

your PS answer is much better than my answer ... which is (brace yourself) ... Arjuna suggesting the Ashwatthama trick🤣.. of course that doesn't make sense since Arjuna loves Drona immensely, but nothing in the show makes sense

Your solution does fit into this show's logic. they might probably end up showing Krishna and Arjuna narrating the bhagvad gita to the entire pandav army. And at the end of the narrative, Arjun would say to Nakul "ye sabh hamein gurudev ne samjhaya tha, bhool gaye?" 😉🤪

Why even that? Have Arjun narrate the Gita to both Krishna as well as the Pandava army. Have Drupada ask the most questions, almost defiantly. 😈
