@ Varaali and Ddiala please don't misunderstand me!My aim is not to prove Draupadi was not a dedicated wife...

My question is if a 'person'(either Draupadi/Karna/Arjun/someone else) is Loyal to his/her partner then how does the question of another arise!?

Isn't all this contradicting to the real principles of marriage...How can we relate multiple marriages to loyalty!?

Such instances are really confusing!

I still stand by what I said in the other thread and what you have quoted.

And I still maintain - form the examples given in MB- that Draupadi was equally devoted to all her five husbands.

How Draupadi remained equally devoted to all of them is something only Draupadi can reveal.

Just because we cannot understand how she remained loyal, doesn't mean she was incapable of being so.

@Krrrishnaaa:
Am I being untruthful if I say I love both my mom and dad? Or should I not say I love three of my friends to the same extent? Should I necessarily keep one above the other? Same applies to polyandry and polygamy those days.. Hope I got your question right..

So be it.

Did she protest when Yuddhishtir was talking about sharing her and quoting examples from history!?

You got it right!

But the examples you gave don't apply in the case of marriage.I have no probs with them being polyandrous or polygamous! Why should I if they were the ultimate sufferers! What happiness did Draupadi derive being the lady of Pandu sons??

Now that's new low for the serial to sink into.

Why do you want to turn a devoted, chaste and loyal wife into Karna's paramour?

There are several instances where Draupadi's love and loyalty towards her husbands come through- especially for Yudhishthira. Even after everything that she went through, the respect and commitment she had for her husbands was unwavering.

Just a thought. Draupadi's marriage was not a love marriage. She was given to the winner of the contest and then distributed among five men without anyone asking her opinion and later on even Krishna offered her as a bait to woo Karna without her knowledge or consent. I think its perfectly understandable if she harbours ambiguous feelings for someone else. Anyway, leave it..Nothing serious. Certain authors and playwrights have explored that area, though, which made me wonder.

Now lets not get into those sexist and hypocritical notions of 'chastity' and devotion of 'ideal woman'. I have had enough of that shit since last year.

What are they showing??? Drupad tortures learned men, gets his way and performs yagna to get a son for vengeance purposes, wishes only bad things for a daughter and gods bless him with both son and a daughter???? So in other words they are saying be mean, vile and it's ok gods will bless u with what u want anyway? Could they not have handled this more sensitively?especially wishing bad for a daughter is disgusting. Do they always have to be so stereotypical in showing their heroines???
From what I read, Drupad accepted Draupadi , though he loved his son more. With present day situation they could have shown it more respectfully.very disappointed!

The way their imagination factory transformed Drupada into a villain was more than ridiculous. He never hated females and Draupadi was adored by him
