@bold: they dont apply to marriage of today's world.. but they did in Dwapar.. we are so used to questions like who is your favorite whatever..

I was thinking the same!

Interestingly there were certain principles for marriage(loyalty highly placed in the definition of marriage itself) since Satya Yug.Wondering why they weren't followed precisely by everyone.🤔

As Vrish Bhai said it was a common practice to show their power and self image.

My father wants to thank CVs of 'Starbharat' for atleast showing the relations as they were...Bheeshma as Shantanu's son,Drit and Pandu as Brothers, all Pandavas and Kauravas as as they were, not to forget Krishna as Husband of Rukmini though her 'Haran' was done by Arjun!!😆

Just a thought. Draupadi's marriage was not a love marriage. She was given to the winner of the contest and then distributed among five men without anyone asking her opinion and later on even Krishna offered her as a bait to woo Karna without her knowledge or consent.

wow.. surprising.. just wrote this in the Karna thread.. but seriously I dont want this SP Mahasardard to cover that part.. it is very sensitive and minute for them to think of attempting..

No where in books does it write that he tortured sages and hated females. They've made Drupad seem like some sexist Ravan. Drupad in fact loved Draupadi. He performed the yagna for a son, but not because he hated females. He just wanted a son who'd be able to kill Drona. When Draupadi also came, he loved her too, and he secretly cherished a wish that he could marry her off to Arjuna.

Thanks, thats what i was thinking too. 😊

Draupadi with loose hair.. Wasn't that considered very inauspicious those days? that she had to vow to let it loose so that it hurts the Pandavas and serves as a reminder of her insult?

I know I should not expect this from the CVs but am surprised this dint bother anyone here as well..

Since she emerged from the fire I'm guessing they are showing her very simple, kind of like a newborn with only the minimal clothing to cover her body. She also had no jewelry, which was also considered inauspicious in those days, but I guess once she goes into the palace, she'll get lots of beautiful clothes, jewels and maids to comb her hair. 😆

It can perhaps be explained due to the fact that she was just born (though not in the usual way) and that was her hair in natural form with no adornments.

They also show all brahmins with long flowing hair, untied. Weren't they supposed to tie their hair? Drona in particular.

Draupadi was just born na..so perhaps this was the reason.
She vowed to keep her hair open till she washes it with Dusshasan's blood...so let's hope she ties her hair after getting in the palace.
