Why is everyone shown to be so black and white and not grey?

In the original epic, characters like Duryodhan, Aswathama, Dushashan, Satyawati, etc. were shown to be grey (more black than white), but in this interpretation of Mahabharat, CVs are clearly differentiating them by making them seem like pure evil. I am in no way saying here that these characters were good, and did no wrong. But in those times, they didn't use such explicitly negative language like Duryodhan in this series. Duryodhan's face is always shown with negative evil expressions.
Instead if they showed him in greyish black light, it would seem more real. He was obsessed about being King because of his father's and Shakuni's influence. But, he wasn't on the extreme category of evil like Ghori. I don't respect him nor his actions, but seeing the story as it really was, would feel better.

Does anyone here agree with me?

Completely agree. They are showing twists and characters in a different way as were shown or heard originally.

Well said... this version of Mahabharat is concentrating on polarising people so much and it so annoys me that they are not telling the story in an objective way. There is too much black vs white. Also, the liberties they are taking with the storyline (eg Satyawati's character) is taking the joy out of watching the serial.

Well firstly we need to understand the difference between balck and grey shaded characters.Black charcters are those who throught the story do only wrong and no right.Grey shaded characters are those who do both right and wrong things like karan
As per the epic MB duryodhan is a black character not grey shaded.Leave this MB as per the MB book tell me one good deed that duryodhan did just one or dusashan did any selfless act?And i will agree?

Absolutely agree with you.thanks for mentioning it. i am really hating the way 'negative'characters are being treated here. Mahabharata is the most humane story of all epics. And Humanity Never Been Completely White.there is always some good in bad and vice versa .every character in mahabharata has shades of grey .some less and some much more. Even in Lord Krishna with his' End Justifying The Means' policy. its all about the goal they chose to follow.some chose wrong [you can call it adharma] like kauravas by commiting such crimes that eclipsed everything good about them.and pay the price . And some choosing the righteousness came out as Victors. and that is what make this epic so Real and Wonderful. SO i am pretty much disappointed by its portrayal of the 'villains' .

The only character whom I wish to be shown as grey is Dhritrashtra...rest were either black or white... Duryodhan was black due to Shakuni's manipulations and father's softness...

well said .. they are making Duriyadhan typical villain of Hindi films .. they portrayed Dhritarashtra so well that I was expecting better interpretation of Duriyadhan .. but they disappointed me badly .. Duriyadhan was misguided, stupid and his biggest weakness was his ego .. he was nowhere tricky as they are showing and he really loved his friends .. another thing Duriyadhan cud never torture his subjects as it is clear indication that he was a good king .. it is sad that even in contemporary world we mark epic characters as good and evil where they were not .. Pandavas also had so many faults and Kauravas had a many positive qualities too

How as duryodhan generous can you tell me one incident in which he was generous as per the MB book becuase i certainly dont remember?
What were the good qualities that Duryodhan had as per the MB book where he did good for some one else can some one enlighten me?Even when he made Karn the king it was only beucase he wanted him as a competition for Arjun later on he did love him as a friend but not in the begining?Tell me one good or self less act of Duryodhan?
My POV is as per MB book Duryodhan is not a grey shaded character he is a villian and a black character.Grey shaded character are Dhridhrashtra and Karna not Duryodhan.
