Now, I generally disdain the original Dhritarashtra & Gandhari, but watching this week's D-G suhaag raat, I found myself in sadistic enjoyment of what D was doing. First he ordered Gandhari to come to him, and when she was groping about, knocking a vase and almost touching a flame, he mocks her for not being able to sense where he was, despite him being so brilliant & all-knowing 😆 Then he berates her for insisting on the blindfold, and accuses her of using it to rebel against him.

Particularly funny was Gandhari being extra mahaan and asking for her jewellery to be removed, and Dhritarashtra getting furious @ her for just that. How about Gandhari actually asking Dhritarashtra what he likes & doesn't and then acting accordingly, instead of making unilateral decisions on her own?

I also liked the convo b/w Ambika & Ambalika, where Ambika wonders whether Gandhari actually sacrificed, or was actually rebelling against her marriage. This actually is a very good discussion point on the motivations behind what Gandhari did.

On a separate note, I loved Dhritarashtra mocking Pandu equating his loyalty to Dhritarashtra w/ Bharat's loyalty to Rama: the oblique equating of Dhritarashtra w/ Rama was pretty odious, so someone might as well mock it, even if it be Dhritarashtra himself 😆

I have watched one episode of this MB dubbed in bengali and is aired in bengali star jalsa channel. The voiceover of Bheesma in the bengali version is quiet similar to the one in Hindi 😆 so am more confused. 😕😕
