Dhritarashtra's grand entry tonight in Mahabharat!!

Fighting elephants Thakur Anoop Singh will make a grand entry as Dhritarashtra inMahabharat tonight!

Dhritarasthra the most powerful man in Star Plus'Mahabharat is being essayed by Thakur Anoop Singh who is also a pilot by profession. In tonight's episode viewers will witness his grand and never seen entry.

TellyBuzz got in touch with Thakur Anoop Singh to know more about his role in the epic show Mahabharat.

When asked Anoop about his journey in the industry he said, "Well to start with, I am a pilot by profession and have a license for the same. However, I never really pursued it as a career because at the same time recession hit the entire globe. I didn't want to waste my time and since I love acting I decided to pursue my career in acting. I had to look after my family so I thought I might as well pursue my career in acting."

"At that point I started with modelling and thankfully Siddharth Tewary noticed me and he offered me the role of Dhritarasthra. It was a pleasure to play the role of Dhritarasthra who is known to be more powerful than Bhishma pithama. So for me it was a very challenging act. I had actually worked hard on my physique and my skills to essay the role of Dhritarasthra," he added.

We asked him about his grooming sessions for Mahabharata, and Anoop says, "I had actually grown my hair, groomed myself but at that time the set wasn't ready and I didn't wanted to shed my weight as the role of Dhritarasthra demanded me to be a little plum. So in the meanwhile to get into the skin of the character I decided to take up mythological shows that came my way. I did couple of shows like I shot for the promo of Hanuman in Ramayan but couldn't do the role. This way I got a hang of mythological shows and could improvise on my diction."

Anoop has been practicing a lot to get well versed with his character in the show and he said, "I did loads of practice as I used to blind fold myself for the role and roam around so that I could walk and get the act right. I also met Giriraj Shankar who played Dhritarasthra in the earlier Mahabharat and he gave me an amazing insight on the character of Dhritarasthra."

We asked him as how different is the new Mahabharat from the old one, for which Anoop opined, "The new age modern Mahabharat is different from the early ones as in this Dhritarasthra is shown as a warrior. Tonight is the grand entry of Dhritarasthra wherein he will fight with the elephants. All my stunts are performed by myself and I am thankful to each and every one associated with Mahabharat."

Talking about his future plans Anoop says, "I would like to pursue my acting career and if fate takes me back to aviation industry I might take up a job in the aviation profession but nothing has been planned right now."

Definitely Bhisma and Amba had been by far the best - acting wise. 😛

I was a kid when I saw Mukesh Khanna's Bheesma and clearly remember how Ronit played in Ekta's version. Though both were very good, but this new Bheeshma seems to be directly taken out of the epic.😳

Both Mukesh and Ronit portrayed a strong personality of the Pitamaha while AC is portraying Bheesma as strong man but there is a certain aloofness in his whole demeanor and he is gradually growing on the viewers.

Ratan's feisty portrayal of Amba and Bheesma's apparent aloofness was such a treat to watch 😳 - in fact their chemistry made me wish to see them as couple😆 - not the lovey dovey couple of course, but the odd couple who gets entangled by their own mistakes and fate.

On a serious note, Bheesma could have married Amba just for sake of keeping her honor before the world and could have led a celibate life. Technically, his vow was not to have his own child and to serve Hastinapur. In this way, he could have redeemed his mistakes before Amba and also would not have broken his promise. Whether Amba would have accepted this proposal or not is debatable but at least he could have made this offer. 😉

Sayantani is good but she could have been better. Thankfully, she is not playing the typical vamp role where she would laugh like hyena or roll her eyes in every two minutes.

Hahah i agree i liked bheeshm and amba's chemistry as well the small shipper in me did.If this was an ekta's serial then she would have definately gotten them married you know the she likes to get people who hate each other married and then fall in love.May be some one can write a fanficition on Bheeshm and amba(just joking i dont mean any insult to these epic characters)

Is it just me or Gandhari is extremely beautiful?

😆😆 You bet!

In fact, Maiya has shown few scenes where Bheeshma has been shown to be, ummm, compassionate towards Amba 😉 since its' a known story of this epic, even EK could not dare to change it. Gandhari is beautiful 😃
