Sameer - I liked him in MTPH, but somehow, for all the hype, he seemed pretty dull here. Plus he's gonna last just 3 episodes. Given what they've shown, I wonder whether they'll show him when Bheeshma goes out to capture Amba & her 2 sisters.

Vivana - they totally skipped much of the Ganga story, which is understandable, given that if they are trying to reach out to the newer generation, scenes like 7 babies getting drowned is not gonna strike a chord. But in the end, Ganga was even less than a cameo.

Sayantani! Somehow, since I followed her in Rakt Sambandh (but not in Meri Maa or Naagin), I just find it hard to digest her acting a vamp. Of course, Satyavati was not a vamp, but if that's how they wanted to show her, Sayantani was a bad choice for this. Given how they wanted to project Satyavati, Ratan would have been a better choice. Of course, Amba too is being portrayed as a vamp, so not much to choose here.

Arav did a terrific job as Bheeshma, although he looked rather old when Ganga handed him back to Shantanu. But in today's episode, they showed him well - w/ a mustache, and I think he may be bearded after Vichitravirya's death. He stands to be the most evolving character.

Let's see how they show Ambika tomorrow.

Commenting here on some of the newer entries in this serial:

Vichitravirya - I just couldn't make out whether it was the same actor that King Prishata was whipping, vs. the sickly youth who could barely carry his sword while ascending the throne. Did they actually use 2 different actors within 2 days? Any idea on the actor's name?

Puneet - Horrible!!! They really dressed him up as an Yeti 😆 and put him in that weird cave w/ flying rocks 😆 Parashurama's dwelling was hardly anything like it, but here, he looks like a cult leader

Manasi - did a good job so far. Given how they've depicted Satyavati, I'm glad they gave her some voice to speak up against her, when she ordered the niyoga.

Hope to see Dhritarashtra, Shakuni, Gandhari & Subala next week

Hello guys, I am here to give my views on how the serial is going. I would like to divide it into two parts The positives, and The negatives. You are most welcome to disagree with me and also I would like you to respect others decision as well. I will do the same.

I would like to go first with the characters and actors.

Santanu: Superb acting. I specially liked when he had that calmness in him. His eyes were expressive. The best part about the actor was he depicted a father fantastically despite standing against such a matured son. I liked this chemistry with satyavati.

Ganga: Well I honestly didnot like the choice of the actress. I would have loved someone really dreamy looking full of aura. But somehow ganga didnot impress me much. She is new and we can very well make out from her dialogue throwing skill. She had zero chemistry with Santanu.

Satyavati: I am confussed with her character. I never thought she was an antagonist. If the makers wanted to portray a vamp out of her then i would say Sayantani has done a great job portraying her acting skills. Every expression she gave was apt.

Devdutt/Bhishma: I would like to confess that i started comparing him with the person who played bhishma in mahabharata initially and i thought her was trying to act like him. But in later episode i really enjoyed watching him. Specially his conversation with Surya dev. I literally felt the emotions seeing him cry. A very very well choosen actor i must say and i have a feeling i am going to enjoy his acting.

Amba: Superb and i think one of the best star cast so far. Ratan has done a great job. Expect i have one complain, she was trying to sound like male chauvinist, i mean the voice. She could have managed in her female voice unless it is her original voice. I liked everything about her to be honest. Amba-Bhishma scene was too good to watch.

Ambika, Ambalika: Erm! i would have prefered pretty ladies... I dont like their dialogue throwing skills to he honest. It was not at all convincing.

Coming to the serial now.

I would have preferred it a little bit slower.

Scenes like how bhishma was born, what was the reason behind Ganga drowning her 6 babies? and why bhishma survived. Some scenes between ganga and santanu should have been shown to bring that impact. However i liked the father son bonding. But as far as i rember bhishma was more close to his mother. and that attachment was missing when they showed ganga and bhishma.

Satyavati's character is mystery to me. I thought it was her dad who asked bhishma about his daughter's well being and hak. Her character is shown pretty negative and manipulating. I have not read anything like that anywhere.

A very important part they skipped, i hope they show in the future somewhere. It is the reason behind Dhritarashta's and Pandu's illness and in-capabilities and how and why the dasi was sent.
