So Krishna as a cowherd & Arjun as Brihannala set off for Kundinpur in order to get Rukmini rescued.
K: This is a very dangerous mission. In fact, it's impossible

K: You can't defeat this army, just like you couldn't defeat Kalyavan. Jarasandha & his allies will cream you. So I need you to make a different sort of sacrifice.

K: I need you to dress like a woman and resemble Rukmini
A: That's impossible
K: You just said nothing is impossible, your name is Arjun. Anyway, for Sishupala, I need your name to be Rukmini
A: What? 😲
K: You are to disguise yourself as Rukmini and do a switching act, and have her change into your clothes. Keep yourself veiled going in, so that she's veiled coming out. Then I'll get her & take her back to me to Dwarka, while you keep Sishupala engaged, and make sure Rukmi doesn't suspect anything
A: How long do you think I can do this b4 they discover me? I'm not afraid of dying, but keeping up such a disguise is impossible
K: Improvise, like you did in the Drupada battle
So Krishna & Arjun assume their guises, and go to Kundinpur. Arjun disguises himself as a woman - Brihannala - and goes in to Rukmini's chamber. There, he tells Rukmini the plan, and has her switch to his clothes. In the meantime, the next few hours are spent by Rukmini's maids decking him up for marriage 😆
Krishna takes Rukmini on his bullock cart, the latter dressed as Brihannala. On the way, he decks Rukmini up as Arjun, gives her the Gandhiva, switches to a chariot, and moves on to Dwarka.
In the meantime, Sishupala's mother, Shrutashrava, sends a message to Kunti, telling her about Sishupala's engagement, and asking her to loan Priyamvada, so that she can go and send her in advance to Rukmini for the shringhar. Kunti, on getting this message, decides to send Priyamvada to Vidarbha. She realizes that Priyamvada needs a charioteer who can also defend her, and so asks yuvraj Yudisthir to get Karna for this job
Yudisthir meets his new supporter Duryodhan, and asks him whether his friend Angaraj Karna can do his mother Kunti a favor?
D: No, he's a king now, not a suta
K: Mitra, please don't say that. If you're loyal to Yudisthir, how can I, who regards you as a master, be less than loyal to his mother? Tell me, Yudi, what can I do for your mom?
Y: Mata wants you to take her friend Priyamvada to Vidarbha, where she will deck up her sister's would be bahu Rukmini w/ her choice of ornaments. First go to Chedi & meet Shrutashrava mausi, get the heirlooms from her, then go to Vidarbha. Then help Rukmini get decked up
D: Why does she need Karna? Jarasandha is going there - he can take Priyamvada as well
K: Jarasandha is the var paksh all right, but since this is for a pre-marital visit to Vidarbha, we need to send someone from family. Jarasandha is not family.
D: Ok
So Karna takes Priyamvada and goes off to Chedi. He meets mausi Shrutashrava, who gives him & Priyamvada the family heirlooms to deck Rukmini in. Karna then takes Priyamvada record speed and enters Rukmini's chambers. They see Arjun - decked as Rukmini - looking @ them in shock
Priyamvada faints, while Karna smirks
A: I am here on Krishna's instructions, since Rukmini wants to marry him. So I'm Rukmini here, while she makes her escape.
K: I made a comment about you dancing, for which you were ready to stab me. Anyway, I forgave you, but this is even funnier - seeing you decked as Rukmini.
A (about to shout): Angaraj! Don't invoke my anger!!!
K (stifling him): Hey, if you shout, everyone will know that Rukmini is missing, so just keep up your act. Now, mausi Shrutashrava has sent this for Rukmini, so can you tell me where she is, or do I attach them on you? 😆
Arjun was speechless, while Karna pulled out the payals, and attached them on Arjun's feet.
K: I liked the feet rub you gave me, so the least I can do for you is deck your own lotus feet w/ these.
Karna dresses Arjun completely in Shrutashrava's gifts - necklace, bangles, payals, whatever... By then, it's sunset, so Karna takes Arjun's leave to do his surya puja, and then returns to continue his work on, er, with Arjun
By this time, Priyamvada had recovered, and decided she couldn't let Arjun's humiliation go uninterrupted
P: Look, both of you. This is a serious situation, and regardless of how you regard each other, neither of you can pass off as a woman. If someone has to substitute Rukmini, why not let it be me, even if I don't look anything like her? I'll make this sacrifice for Kunti & Shrutashrava. I'll be @ the alter w/ Sishupala, and he can even marry me if he likes, and by then, Rukmini should be safe. Arjun, change back into your Brihannala outfit. Karna, help me change into Rukmini's, er Arjun's, er Rukmini's clothes.
K: Priyamvada, wouldn't you prefer your sakhi's son Arjun to do that, rather than a sutaputra like me?
P: No, he needs to get back to Krishna. Btw, maharani Kunti really appreciates what you've done for me, so the least that I can do to thank you is to give you the privilege of dressing me as Rukmini. Please do that?
Since it was after his surya puja, Karna had no choice but to accept. Arjun changed back into Brihannala, while Karna helped Priyamvada change into Rukmini's attire. He also adorned her w/ his mausi's jewelry, enjoying the sight. He then covered her in the ghunghat, and then left w/ Brihannala. He put Brihannala on a chariot, & saw him off. He then went to meet Bheeshmaka & Rukmi
K: Maharaj, Maharani, the princess is ready. I had her decked w/ some jewelry that my queen's sister sent for her. It's an advance gift from the varpaksh, and they wish Rukmini to wear that in the wedding.
B: Glad that it's all ready. Rukmi, escort Rukmini to the mandap
Rukmi goes in and asks his sister to come out. Priyamvada does a great Rukmini imitation, and asks Rukmi to allow her to be in a ghunghat which would only be removed after the sindurdaan. Rukmi agrees, and takes Priyamvada to the mandap
In the meantime, Brihannala arrives in Dwarka, and changes back to Arjun. Along w/ Subhadra, both of them attend Krishna's wedding, along w/ Vasudeva, Balarama & others in the family.
At Vidarbha, Sishupala is happy to receive his bride, and they do the pheras & the garlanding. Finally, the sindur daan happens, and Sishupala gets his fingers under Priyamvada's ghunghat, and fills up her maang.
He then removes her ghunghat and is shocked to see Priyamvada. 😲😆
Jarasandha, Rukmi & others are furious that they've been had, and go after Karna, while Rukmi moves towards Dwarka to attack Krishna.
Does Jarasandha succeed in punishing Karna?
