Part 8
RK stood nervously in a little dim lit area near the girls hostel. He had come to pick Madhu for the prom. Most of the other people had already gone. He kept looking at the gate as his eyes almost ached to see Madhu. Not that he had been waiting for long but because he was too excited to see her dressed up and more so because he was feeling really uncomfortable standing near the girls hostel.
After a little while, Madhu came. She was standing at the gate and found RK who was looking the other way. She nervously walked close to him. RK heard the nervous footsteps and turned around quickly and he froze suddenly. Madhu looked so stunning. He could never have imagined his sports girl look this beautiful. Her hair which were usually tied in a pony tail fell loosely on her shoulders. And she looked so elegant in a dress instead of that sweatshirt.
"OK.. I am already embarrassed enough " Madhu said annoyed at him.
"ooh sorry for that.. I just.. Didn't expect you to look... This" he said as the word beautiful got caught up in his throat.
"This cheesy? I know... I so didn't want to dress like this but these girls. They were so much bent on it.. Argh.. These heels are so uncomfortable.. " she stated to rant even before RK could tell her how wrong she was. Beautiful was an under statement. By the time Madhu had started to walk forward and RK followed.
" you look handsome by the way " she says looking at him suspiciously.
RK almost chuckled at the way she said it. " So.. Is it bad? " he asked playfully.
" No.. Good for you.. You are gonna have a lot of eyes checking you out tonight.. " she said teasing him.
" oh.. I thought I was your date for tonight " he said with a smirk
" Yes.. I didn't say I won't poke my fingers in those eyes " she said as if stating the obvious. RK broke into a laugh hearing her and Madhu joined in.
They entered the hall that was decorated beautifully. There was good music in there. A lot of heads turned seeing them together. Most of them hadn't expected them to even come. Madhu looked around nervously while RK had an expression of pride and show off. Just as a 17 year old guy would have when with the girl of his dreams by his side.
"I am feeling so out of place " Madhu complained.
RK smiled at her trying to boost her up. "whenever you feel like not staying here.. We will go" he said. Madhu felt a slight tug in hey heart. "I am fine for now" she said happily feeling comfortable with him.
Just then Trishna came almost trying not to run. "you both came! I am so happy.. I was so upset that you won't come" she said as she hugged Madhu.
"Your girl friend is looking amazing" she whispered to RK who almost jerked consciously at Madhu. She had heard Trishna and her cheeks turned pink in embarrassment.
Sultan came to them just in time as he has been left behind by an excited Trishna.
"You both are looking exceptionally good.. " he said delighted. "Not that you don't look good normally but we are used to seeing you both in your sports uniforms" he said. Both Madhu and RK smiled at him.
"Come on Trish.. Give the new couple some privacy " he said pulling Trishna.
" I am sorry on their behalf " RK said nervously.
"it's okay.. It's me only because of whom that rumor spread.." Madhu said laughing slightly while RK chuckled.
They greeted their friends as they had a little chit chat. But soon their friends decided to hit the dance floor. Not left with many options after being pulled and threatened by them the two decided to join them. They stood on the dance floor looking at each other waiting for the other to start.
"Come on do something " RK mumbled to her.
" yeah.. Let's see.. " she says moving her body as she punched in the air trying to dance. She was totally out of sync from the music. RK chuckled seeing her. RK too joined in as he slightly moved himself. He was worse than her.
"oh god we are looking so stupid.. How do they do this?!" Madhu whispered exasperated.
"I don't know! " RK said equally frustrated.
" look at them.. The way they are dancing.. They look so compatible " Madhu said envying a couple who seemed to move totally in sync with the music as well as each other!
" Well.. If you look at it this way.. Then we are both dancing equally bad so even we are compatible. " RK said trying to look at silver lining.
Madhu laughed hearing him. " come on.. It's not for us " she said pulling him away.
They both stayed at the party for some time but soon they decided that it was getting too uncomfortable for them to stay there any longer so they slipped out.
They reached the basket ball court which was very close to the banquet hall.
"oh we really belong here.. On our respective play grounds " Madhu said feeling relieved finally.
" Yeah you are right.. I don't know how do they manage in all the noise and dim lights " RK said shaking his head at the unfortunate people.
" and so many people all around.. " Madhu agreed with widened eyes. "I mean it feels so packed up and as if everyone is just judging you.."
" Well now that we are here.. In our territory.. Why not give that a try " RK said playfully.
" what? " Madhu asked confused.
" Dancing.. The music is clearly audible here " he said with a charming smile.
" Well I don't know " she said contemplating.
RK started to move in attempt to dance. Madhu laughed looking at him but then she too joined in. It did seem fun.
" You know you are doing it better here " Madhu said to RK.
" even you are.. " he said though both of them were totally causing a disaster.
" Maybe because we are not worried about the people looking at us " Madhu said.. RK agreed to her.
Suddenly the music changed to a slow song.
" What are we supposed to do on this? " Madhu asked confused.
" Well let me see.. " RK came forward standing face to face with her. " May I? " he asked in a gentleman's tone.
Madhu smiled gracefully as she nodded her head. RK held her hand with one while he kept her other hand at his shoulder and slipped his hand on her waist. Madhu sucked in her breath as she suddenly became conscious of him. They started to move their feet though they were hardly able to synchronise and ended up stepping on each other.

"OK.. I think we should look at each other rather than our feet " he said.
" yeah I guess so.. " Madhu replied. They both looked at each other with nervous smiles.
As the beautiful song progressed, they both had their gaze locked by now. Not only their feet but even their breaths were in sync as they gave themselves to the music, and their feelings for each other.

They looked into each others eyes trying to lose themselves in that moment. The beautiful sky of the night shined above them and the silence of the night made the song echo around them. Their bodies swaying to the music.

RK's grip on her waist firmed now and Madhu felt herself melting in his hands. Her lips trembling in his effect was a clear sign of that. She tried closing her eyes but all she could do was keep looking into his eyes.

He stretched his hand making her move away as she rolled on his arm. Her back facing him now. Her scent was driving him crazy. He leaned forward and placed a slight kiss on the side of her neck. Madhu took in a deep breath while she closed her eyes. She moved away but RK pulled her back now again facing her.

Their breaths had deepened now as they stared into each other's eyes. Seeing him so close to her Madhu leaned a little forward. Taking it as a clear sign RK closed in and placed his lips on hers. Finally with their lips meeting they kissed each other savouring each moment, their bodies still swaying to the music. RK nibbled on Madhu's juicy lips.

As the song ended their was a sound of huge uproar from the hall as if the guys inside were delighted over something. That suddenly shook Madhu and RK back into the reality. They instantly parted while shocked at themselves.
"Oh my god! " they both almost screamed in shock.
" Such black magic! " Madhu screamed in horror. Not only because she was shocked at what happened but also because this felt the most convenient way out of the situation.
" Really!! "RK said exasperated. " What was that? Some hypnosis shit! "
" oh my god.. I am sorry.. I didn't force myself on you.. Did I? " madhu asked concerned
"Madhu . That should be my question" RK said amused.
"No you didn't.. " she said brushing it off.
There was an uncomfortable silence for a few minutes.
" Well.. I always believed kissing was yuck.. " RK said smiling sheepishly.
Madhu laughed hearing him." even me "
" so how do you think it was? " RK asked dreading. And instantly he felt he did wrong. He couldn't take a blow to his male ego like that.
" well it wasn't that bad.. it was good.. " she said smiling cheekily.
" it was? "RK asked delighted.
" yeah.. " Madhu said trying to cut it short.
" even I think it was the same.. I mean good.. " he said smiling.
" do you think we should go now? I mean it's kinda getting warm here " she said uncomfortable.
Well he didn't know about warm but it was definitely getting hot by the second.
" Yeah you are right.. We should rather go back now.. It's getting late too.. Come let me walk you to the hostel . "
Madhu smiled at him and they started to walk. They were suddenly more conscious of each other. Madhu as if tried to huddle into herself while RK had conveniently maintained two arms distance from her.
The two reached the hostel now. Madhu walked straight into the hostel but then something clicked and she turned back just at the gate.
"Thanks RK.. I had a great time.. " she smiled at him.
"Even me..." he said smiling. Madhu smiled back and turned around. RK stayed looking at her retreating figure for a few seconds and then walked off.
