Part 1
A large number of students sat around the football ground as they cheered and howled. Everyone had their eyes on the ground as they cheered. Almost the whole college was on the ground. Even though it was just a practice football match going on. The whistles and screeches were all around.
A group of them screamed one name in unison. "RKkk RKkk" *clap clap clap* "RKkk RKkk" *clap clap clap*
And there he sprung up, hitting the ball with his head. A boy drenched in sweat and totally engrossed in the game. He couldn't hear anything. All that meant to him at that moment was that game. He ran towards the goal as two of the defenders tried to cut him off. But RK wasnt the one to be stopped like that. In no time he was at a good position. "RK!!" Ali shouted with all his might and kicked the ball towards him.
The ball swinged towards RK and he jumped high, and kicked the ball right at the goal.
The ground roared with clamours and claps and hootings as the final goal was shot. The game ended in their favour and RK waved to his college mates in victory. All his team members ran to him and hugged him and they jumped in joy.
As they all seperated, RK went to his bag and grabbed the towel as he wiped himself off the sweat. He opened the water bottle and drank some while poured the rest on his face.
"Hey hero.." he closed his eyes dreading hearing the voice. The self announced cheer leader, Dipali was standing right behind him. And to make it worse RK had nowhere to run.
"You played awesome.. well you always do that.. That is why I always cheer for you the loudest.." she said in her usual flirty tone as she came close to him trying to hold his arm.
As soon as her hand touched his arm, he jerked it back and started settling his hair as an excuse.
"Thanks Dipali.." he said with a formal smile.
She frowned slightly. "You know everyone calls me Dipz.. then why you call me Dipali.." she complained.
"I like to be different." He shrugged.
Dipali smiled hearing him. "You are always different ... and special.." she said flirting.
"Where the hell is Ali.. I want my wristband back.." he said quickly picking his bag as he almost ran for life. He felt suffocated in such situations.
"RK.. I came to know of an awesome restaurant near by.. How about giving it a check.."
"Sure Dipali.. you can go whenever you wish to.." he said increasing his pace while Dipali walked behind him.
"Hey Ali.." he saw him at a distance thankfully. "Will see you later Dipali.." he shouted and ran away while Dipali stomped in anger.
"Hey Ali.. Thank God I found you here.." RK said as he reached his friend.
"Why?" He asked back confused.
"That man eater was behind me.. I saved my ass somehow.." RK exclaimed dramatically.
Ali burst into a laugh. "You mean Dipz ?"
RK frowned hearing 'Dipz'.. "yeah go and say that 'Dipz' infront of her.. she would be all over you the next millisecond.."
Ali laughed again. "Yeah I would really enjoy that.. Unlike some who run away from opportunities.."
"Yukk!!" RK said disgusted at him. "You disgust me man.." he said.
"What do you have against girls?" Ali exclaimed wondering.
"Not Girls.. some girls.. I like others.."
"Well the others whom you like.. I never saw even one such girl.." Ali said shaking his head
"Yeah because I haven't yet bumped into one.." RK said sincerely.
"Ooohhh Dont you think there arent such girls whom you claim to like.." Ali said rolling his eyes.
"There must be.. who would be like me... like not falling over guys like you.."
"Oyeee.. was that an insult?" Ali said glaring at him.
"You can think either ways.." RK said shrugging carelessly.
Ali was about to say more but then he decided to kick it off. "Leave it.. And yes.. here's your wristband.." Ali said taking it off his hand.
"you keep it man.. I have more.." he said carelessly as he pushed the bag on his back and walked away.
RK was passing by the basket ball court when his gaze fell on the girl who was very concentrated on dribbling her ball. And he could appreciate that it seemed absolutely effortless on her. He stopped at a distance unknowingly and didnt even know when he started admiring that girl.
That girl, in the yellowish green uniform. Her hair tied neatly at the back but the heavy curls puffed beind her. She seemed so energetic. He realized he was staring at her, when he noticed two guys approaching her. They seemed to be eyeing her and looking at her in quite a lewd way. RK couldnt help but feel furious at them. He was about to walk towards them and give them a good taste of their medicine. When he saw the girl frowning at them profusely. She didnt look uncomfortable or scared in any way. Infact she stood there bold and head high while her hand effortlessly still dribbled the ball. He stopped wanting to see what she would do. He had aprroached close enough to hear them.
"Why girl? Why not play with us.. we are very good with balls.." one of the boy said with a fake smile while the other chuckled.
"Oh really?" the girl asked delighted.
"Yeah.. You can test if you dont believe.." the other boy said naughtily.
"Ohh sure.." the girl replied happily. And held the ball with both her hands as she threw it right at them. The ball landed hard on one's face and he growled in pain.
"Watch your face.." the girl said when the ball bounced back and she held it again. She then frowned and rolled her eyes at them as she walked off while the boy held his nose in pain and the other inspected it for not being broken.
RK chuckled seeing her. Not only this mystery sportsgirl is a good player but she knows how to stand up for herself. He was impressed. She was not at all like the usual girls and specially not like the one from whom he had almost ran away saving himself.
He saw her playing on the other side of the court now. He had this strange urge to approach her but then he remembered the boy who was still trying to touch his nose without feeling pain sitting on the bench at the side as he tried to know if its broken. He decided against his idea. Well, of course he did love his nose. He looked at the girl once again and then walked away.
RK was sitting with his elder sister Trishna in their room as he thought about the sportsgirl.
"Hey Rish... where had you disappeared after the match. I was searching for you everywhere.." she said suddenly remembering. "Even nobody else knew."
That's when RK remembered Dipali almost chasing her with her flirtacious looks and honey qouted cooing voice. "Ewww.. That girl made me run for life man.." He felt shudders remembering her.
"Which girl.?" trishna asked.
"Dipali.." RK said with disgust.
Trishna sighed hearing him. Most of the college guys were almost love sick puppies behind Dipali. She was sexy and flirty. Though she was not too popular among girls but guys were all for her. And here sat her brother feeling disgusted remembering her. She had at first felt awkward as to why RK never talked to most girls. But then after a few months she realized that her brother had a repulsion for girls. This eww feeling wasnt something new for him and she knew it. She so wished her brother was straight. He was handsome and smart, and if she is to not see as a sister, he was even sexy. But then she accepted who he was and what he wanted to be. It was his choice if he wanted to be a gay. Well its not a choice, it just happens with some people. And if he is one of them, she would support him and be an anchor sister for him. She loved her brother too much to judge him for that. She thought as she gave a faint smile.
"Cant you once think of her?" She asked with a little hope that her brother at least tries to see the straight way.
RK looked at her confused. Why the hell does she want him to think of that disgusting girl? And moreover he had this other girl to think and dream about.
"No Trish.. Have you seen at the way she dresses and throws herself on everyone.. I hate such girls.." he said irritated.
Trishna sighed and then gave a slight sympathetic smile to her brother. "No problem Rish.. I love you however you are.." she thought to support him however he is and not let him feel low.
RK looked at her baffled now.. what the hell has gone wrong in her wiring? She was talking so absurd. He gave her a whatever look and started looking in his book again as he dreamed of his curly haired sportsgirl. He could imagine her playing in the rain with her hair all wet and water dripping down her skin. He didnt know why he wanted to suck those imaginary drops from her. Her eyes, well if only he could have been able to see them. But he was sure he would have drowned in the depths. He hadn't felt this way ever before. All the girls were just decked up barbie dolls, damsels in distress. There wasn't ever anything intriguing in them. But this girl seemed interesting. She was a player, just like he was. She seemed passionate about her game, like he is. She seemed an expert as her hands moved effortlessly and her aim right at that nose. And more than anything, she was bold and confident. Not depending on any knight in shining armour to save her. She knew how to reply to those pervs.
Aaahhh.. he so wished he could go to her and tell her how he felt for her. And maybe even make her his. He felt restless as he saw outside the window. It was dark. He just wanted this stupid night to pass away soon so he could meet his sportsgirl again.
