Scene 8

Madhu and Trishna sat in Madhu's room. All the while during dinner Madhu was thinking what would RK be doing and whether he would be eating or not. After a month almost for the first time she wasnt feeling like eating. She remembered she was the one hogging like a pig and RK would smile at her sillyness. But today she was playing with her spoon more than eating.

"Madhu.." Trishna called out to her jerking her out of her thoughts..

"Why are you so lost?" Trishna asked concerned.

"Lost.. am i?" madhu asked a little stunned.

"You were this way at the dining table also.. and i havent seen you smile properly since I came.. what is it?" She asked concerned.

"Its nothing Trish.." Madhu lied.

"You know.. even a stranger could tell that you are grossly upset over something and here you sit lying to me.. who knows you since childhood." Trishna said glaring at her.

Madhu just looked away in reply.

"Is everything fine? Between you and jeeju? You came here suddenly. He didnt even meet anyone at home too.. Did you both have a fight?" Trishna asked concerned

"No.. not at all.. we never fight.. i mean we do fight most of the time but those are most of the time friendly arguments.. and I know he just loves to see me irritated thats why he does that.." Madhu said smiling to herself as she told her that.

Trishna smiled relaxed hearing her. "Then what is it? Why do you look so bothered?"

"I dont know if I should tell this to you" Madhu said apprehensively.

"What is it that you cant tell me!" Trishna exclaimed getting offended.

Madhu realizing that it wont be of much benefit trying to argue with her. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.
"I am pregnant" she said finally.

Suddenly she heard a gasp and that's when she realized that it was Trishna she was talking to. She opened her eyes instantly and just in time she closed her wide opened mouth with her hand. She pressed on her but her scream radiated through her widened eyes.

"Shut up you mutt!! You will awaken everybody" Madhu said angrily in a pressed tone.

Trishna calmed herself down and gestured that she was fine now. Madhu glared at her for a second before leaving her mouth. And Trishna now sat with a big ear to ear grin while Madhu looked at her nervously.

"Oh my God.. I am gonna be a maasi." She shrieked in excitement.

Madhu smiled at her as she wished that she could have been equally excited as she was.

"Okay so that cant be the problem.. so what is the problem?" Trishna said getting back to point.

"I dont know if we are ready for it" Madhu said looking down.

"What? Madhu you cant say that now.." Trishna said shocked.

"I know.. Thats why I am confused.. I am anxious.." she said looking down.

"Is jeeju so upset with this? That he left you here suddenly.. That man should have thought before he pleasured himself.." Trishna said getting angry as she thought that RK was angry at her friend for getting pregnant.

"No.. he doesnt know that.." Madhu quickly defended him.

Trishna looked at her for a few seconds. "Then you should say 'You' are not ready for this.. and then even you should have thought about it before pleasuring yourself.. You cant just have all enjoyments.. there would be a responsibility too.."

"I know.. its just that I forgot it.." Madhy said disappointed at herself.

"You tell jeeju.. I am sure he will be happy and he would convince you too.." Trishna said smiling assuredly at her.

"I know he will be happy but then I dont want him to accept our relationship because of the pregnancy.." Madhu said disappointed.

Trishna looked at her baffled. "Accept?"

" Yeah.. actually it is that we are more of friends.. and suddenly this pregnancy. " Madhu looked at her helpless.

"Madhu.. You both are married.. I assure you.. I attended the function"

Madhu frowned at her lame joke. "As if I dont know.."

"Then?"

"Actually RK wasnt ready for this marriage.. he was forced into it.. and to some extent even me.. i came to know it on my wedding night. But then we decided to stay friends and wont put the burden of responsiblities on each other.. So we are just being together, playing games.. talking.. and doing random stuff.."

"Babies dont come from playing games or doing random stuff.." Trishna said with a slight frown.

"Ofcourse.." Madhu said scandalized. "We obviously did that.. but then it was more like being 'Friends with Benefits" she shrugged nervously.

Trishna's jaw dropped hearing her.. "Oh My God.. You should write 101 ways to complicate simple situations.."

Madhu looked at her baffled thinking as to what that even meant.

"You are unbelievable... whatever you both may believe but you both are married and you did take you relationship to another level.. How can you say that you both were friends with benefits..." Trishna said exasperated.

Madhu took in a deep breath irritated that Trishna wasnt understanding her situation. "You keep you stupid mouth shut if you dont know what the problem is.." Madhu said with her eyes closed.

"Okay.. what the problem is.. tell me.." Trishna asked confused or rather challenging her. Because to her, there was absolutely no problem to worry upon.

"I am pregnant.. i know RK would be happy.. but I want him to be happy for being with me.. I want him to love me for me.. not accept a responsibility like he had to when he bowed infront of his parents.." Madhu said to her trying to explain. "And when he wasn't ready to take uo the responsibility of marriage, would he be ready to be a father?"

"But you should tell jeeju either ways.." Trishna said yet again rejecting her theory.

Madhu breathed in soundly. "I will see what I can do" she said lying on the bed.

Trishna lied down beside her. She looked at Madhu apprehensively then at the roof. After a few seconds she again looked at Madhu.
"Madhu." She called out softly..

"Yes.." Madhu said in a clipped tone.

"You are not thinking of abortion. Are you?" She asked dreading.

Madhu turned to her sharply. "No!!" She almost screamed. She couldnt let anything happen to her and RK's treasure.

Trishna relaxed hearing her and hugged her tightly from the side. "So.. Congratulations!!" She said and kissed her cheek soundly.

Madhu smiled at her and nodded her head in a thanks.

They both were now sleeping. Actually Trishna sleeping while Madhu looked at the roof. She checked the clock and it was 1. RK and her never slept by this time. In the beginning they used to play game and then nowadays they would play with each other. She blushed thinking it.

She picked up her cell and decided to check on RK. On second bell RK picked up the phone.

"So. Should I come to pick u up..?" He asked instantly.

"No!" Madhu whispered.

RK frowned hearing her. "Then why the hell did you call?" He asked angrily.

"Just to see if you were asleep." She said slightly.

"Yes I am sleeping.." he said in a clipped tone.

"Then how are you talking?" Madhu asked sheepishly.

"Madhu.. when you dont care about me then why are you pretending. Stay at your home.. be in peace.. no need to have formalities towards me." He said angrily.

Madhu felt guilty hearing him. "RK I am..." she said but was interrupted midway when the call disconnected.

Her jaw dropped. Did he just hang up on her? She couldn't believe he did that. But then she also left him suddenly. He might be feeling bad for that too. She didn't know what to do. Should she telk RK that they were expecting, should she wait for him to fall in love with her? But then how long will she wait for that to happen. Either ways her pregnancy wasnt going to wait more than 7 months now. And wait! She can't stay away from RK for 7 months. Suddenly she fell into another series of thoughts. Why can't she stay away from him? Does she love him? Before asking about his love, can she surely say that she loves him. Still lost in thoughts she drifted to sleep. Hearing RK's voice had now relaxed her.

Very nice update. But I think it's gonna be Rk and madhu to complicate their life not their Stars.
Loved this part. Can't wait for more Rk - madhu fights.
