Recap:

RK is trying hard to sink in the new revelations into his mind but he is not sure whether his feelings for Madhu is love or not, he needed someone to talk ,so he called sultan to come to his flat. At night, after finishing dinner both sat in living room, watching TV. As RK doesn't know how to start the conversation, so he stood silent.

Chapter 5

Understanding RK situation, sultan tried to start the conversation.

"Dude... You seemed so nervous as if you are going to propose someone . Are you planning to propose me?? I am telling you i am not that type " says sultan making a straight face for which RK gave a look which says Don't- you dare - make- fun -of -my -situation

"Sorry... sorry... jokes apart..now tell me what's bothering you, RK? Is it about Dipali?" asks Sultan while RK remained silent.

"Common RK... speak out..."

"Dipali proposed me..." says RK suddenly.

"so she finally proposed you ah..?" says sultan as if it's is not a big deal.

"You know about her" asks RK surprised as they three were inseparables in college while Sultan noticed her feelings for him which he didn't .

"yah... from the way she looks at you I can figure out that she has some liking for you...but I remained unnoticed..so what did you say??"

"What do you think was my answer?" asks RK.

"Obviously you would have said no... as you are already in love with Madhu ..." said sultan confidently as though he is saying a known fact.

"What, you also thought i love Madhu??" asks RK surprised.

" Don't you love Madhu ...?" asks Sultan confused.

"I don't know ... am confused ... " says RK.

"What happenend RK? tell me clearly so that i can help you" says sultan.

RK explains all the conversation between him and Dipali.

"Oh.. i don't know what to say RK..., from the day we became friends onwards i was thinking that you and Madhu are lovers. The way you talk about her, your caring for her... isn't it love RK??" asks Sultan.

As RK remained silent,Sultan continued.

"If you are not in love with Madhu then why didn't you accept any other girl from our college as most of the girls are head over heels for you...? "

" I never thought about any other girl Sultan, i didn't feel anything for them" says RK.

"Ok I understand the situation you are in... you are unable to believe that you are in love with Madhu right??" says Sultan

"If I love her then why couldn't I realized it by myself ?" says RK thinking deeply to which sultan laughs.

"See bro sometimes even though we are in love we never realize until the right situation comes... so chill and if you are don't love Madhu then what will be future of your relation with her?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what if she loves someone and moves away from you, can you be able to bear that,tell me one thing RK can you imagine any other guy in Madhu's life??" asks Sultan.

RK is hurt listening to sultan words and lost in thoughts.

Will I be able to live happily without Madhu?? Can I imagine other man in Madhu's life??... no i cannot imagine her with anyone else other than me ... damm it i didn't even let her be friends with any other guy, then how can i imagine her spending her rest of life with anyone?? No... i cann't bear her being close to any guy...

It was during one of their holidays in school when RK was 10 years old while Madhu 7 years old.. Malik used to drop Madhu in RK mansion in the morning and pickup from there in the evening. They used to play throughout the day. One day after bidding bye to her father, she rushed inside the mansion excitedly to play with RK. Madhu stood at the door shocked to see her Rishu already playing with some other boy, as daily he used to wait for her. She approaches them, RK noticed her and greets her with a smile while other boy looks at both of them with a smile.

"Madhu.. he is my friend Arjun " says RK smiling.

"Hi Arjun... " Madhu greets him with a smile to which Arjun also reciprocates the same.

"Madhu from today onwards Arjun also will play with us... we will have a lot of fun ok..." says RK excitedly.

"Ok... "says Madhu looking at Arjun. Arjun takes out chocolates from his pocket and offers to both RK and Madhu. At first, she was not comfortable playing with other boy than RK. But Arjun being a funny boy used to make Madhu laugh all the time with his jokes. Soon she also loved playing with him. It has been two days since Arjun is playing with them, one afternoon while they were watching TV, RK slept off. After few hours, RK wakes up with the sound of a laugh and looks around while rubbing his eyes. Madhu and Arjun are playing caroms, both are laughing at some thing while Arjun pulling her cheeks. RK doesnot like the scene before him as he never seen Madhu playing and laughing with other boy. He wanted to slap Arjun and take Madhu away from him but suppressing his anger RK walked towards them. As soon as Madhu saw RK,

"Rishu... You know what...? I won the game 3 times yay yay..." Madhu said to RK excitedly.

"oh... " says RK eyeing on Arjun who is smiling looking at Madhu's excitement.

"See Rishu... you always win by cheating me... but Arjun didn't cheat me in these 3 games... Arjun is very good boy..." says Madhu .

This irked RK so much that he went out angrily without giving any reply to them...he couldn't tolerate the fact that Madhu is praising some other boy infront of him..Next day asusual Arjun came to play with them... but RK didn't like his presence as Madhu is playing with him happily ignoring him...

He doesn't like Madhu's closeness with some other boy as he thought that she is only his best friend... so he warned Arjun not to come to his home from next day onwards... when Madhu asked about Arjun he simply said that he was busy with his relatives sudden visit...He doesn't like telling lies to Madhu but at the same time he couldn't digest her being close to some other boy... From that incident onwards he never invited his friends to his house. He don't know why but he couldn't dare to introduce his friends to her fearing that she might get more close to them instead of him, he wanted her to be his friend only.

After two years or so... One day RK has to go to his friend's house from school regarding an assignment given by his teacher... RK told Madhu that he will come to pick her from school as that day Madhu's car driver was on leave...RK was busy in his friend's house he forgot about Madhu, when he checked time it was 7pm,then hurriedly started from his friend's house to school... when he reached school Madhu was not there, he searched for watchman to ask him about Madhu but he was nowhere to be seen ... He was so worried and searched everywhere near the school.. but he didn't find Madhu, he almost lost his mind and started screaming her name while searching in playground..

"Madhu... Madhu.. where are you...? Am sorry ...please come to me..." shouted RK.

He called Madhu's home and enquired about her but didn't get any positive reply from the servants... he was scared to think about her situation now... and silently prayed to god to keep her safe until he find her..

He fell on the ground on his knees and started crying his heart out in between screaming her name...

Suddenly he heard some noise from nearby room and moved towards it.. He saw that the room is locked and heard weeping sound from the room...

"Madhu... Madhu..." RK shouted.

"Rishuu... " Madhu called him sobbing loudly.

"Don't cry ...Madhu I am here now ... wait a minute I will open the door..." said RK assuring her.

"Rishu.. am scared " Says Madhu hiccupping.

"Please Madhu 2 min am hear only na don't worry ..." Says RK unable bear her vulnerability and started breaking the lock with a stone..

"Madhu... " he called her after breaking the lock while opening the door..

Calling his name, Madhu came to him running and hugged him tightly as if her life is dependent on it and started sobbing loudly...RK too hugged her back and tried to console her..

"Relax.. Madhu.. you are fine now.. iam here na don't worry... stop crying now.." says RK

"I was scared...Rishu.. why didn't you came on time ??" asked Madhu crying and hiccupping..

"Iam sorry Madhu ..I forgot... I won't repeat this again Madhu... am so sorry..please forgive me" said RK with tears in his eyes and was feeling embarrassed as he was responsible for her current state..if he had come to pick her on time Madhu wouldn't be in this situation...

Madhu remained silent after few minutes she stopped crying.

"Madhu ..are you ok now?" asked RK concerned.

"hmm... shall we go home..??" asked Madhu.

"ok.. come" says RK.

"Madhu.. who locked you inside the classroom?"asked RK while walking towards the parking lot where his driver is waiting for them.

"After final bell, everyone went home, I waited for you at the main gate for some time.. as nobody came to pick me, watchman told me to wait inside...I went into that room, I slept off waiting for you... when I opened my eyes everything around me was dark, when I tried to open the door but it was locked from outside.. I was scared...Rishu.." says Madhu and started crying. RK wanted to punch that watchman for being careless but controlled his anger.

"okk ok.. don't cry.. you are safe now, we will go home... ok" said RK.

Soon they reached RK's home,their parents were relieved on seeing them. After narrating whole thing to their parents, Radha took Madhu with her to feed her something while RK was adamant on complaining to his principle regarding the watchman for his irresponsibility at that instinct. Both Mohan and Malik tried to convince him saying that she is safe now and will look into the matter tommorow, but RK was in no mood to listen to them, he felt very bad seeing Madhu crying in that dark room helplessly, if the watchman was there with her, she hasn't been locked in that room. Finally, RK calm downed when Mohan and Malik assured him that the watchman will be punished for his recklessness next day morning. That night onwards, Madhu feared to stay alone and mostly she was scared of dark, at first everyone thought that she would be normal after some days but it didn't happened.Day by day her fears got increased,but then they realized that she is suffering from Nyctophobia(fear of darkness). Radha, Mohan and Malik tried their best to bring her fear under control , but she wasn't able to overcome it. RK's parents convinced Malik for Madhu's stay in their house for some days due to her condition as Malik was busy with work and comes home late at night. RK always used to be with her.. he assisted her in every aspect, he made her watch TV with him in dark in order to avoid her fear, he decorated her room with glow-in-the-dark stars all over her room... He was always with her whenever she needed him... Soon after few months Madhu recovered completely. That was the very hard time for RK seeing Madhu in such a condition..These two incidents made him overprotective about Madhu, he always accompanied her wherever she went...

I never imagined my life without her... Oh God... why didn't I realized it till now ..?Am I that dumb that I never recognized that I am nothing without her. Yesss... I love her...I love her more than my life...

"RK... Dude" called Sultan shaking RK..

"hmm.." said RK recovering from his thoughts.

"Dude... I have been talking to you... did you listen to my words??" asked sulthan..

"What..? come again?" asked RK

"I asked can u be able to bear if Madhu goes away from you...?" Sultan repeated his question..

"I won't let Madhu go away from me... not even in my dreams... " says RK.

"So.. What is this feeling called RK?" asked Sultan raising his eyebrows.

"YES I love her... I love my Madhu... I cann't live without her..." says RK excitedly for which Sulthan smiled...

"Finally.. hero is realized that he is in love ah??" says Sultan chuckling..
