He treats her like his BFF that's all, the one who is his confidante and that keen listener to his problems hehe !! Do we know what feelings does Vikram carry for Madhu..nope again..it could be love also right..but then he is gentle man yaar...he is a nice human being unlike Maya period !!Now tell me, it's been 4-5 months since Madhu and RK have gotten married, then why didn't she share all sorts of insecurities with her hubby, especially reg Maya...remember she swept them beneath the "rug" !! She believes that if not in sight, they are not present..well life doesn't work like that actually !! I believe she should have bared her soul infront of her soulmate which would have strengthened their bond n inturn Rishu wouldn't have gone to maya seeking her advice...he is doing that Becoz Rishu is scared !! He is scared that he will lose Madhu if at all he hurts her in anyway..for him it's like walking on a tight rope..but then he ensured he spends most of his time with her...but to heal Madhu, Rishu needs to have a deeper insight of her insecurities yaar..Madhu can be healed only by love period !!That too only Rishu's love can heal her !!Marriage does not mean running away, infact it's a constant effort to keep the relation strong and it's a constant fight against all those which could destroy the marriage !! To walk away is always easy..what's tough is to stay and fight to save the bond..save the trust...save that one love of life , and for that Madhu needs to believe in herself first...she needs to let go of her insecurities...she need to heal herself in order to live the life with happiness and contentment !! Assume if maya dies tomorrow, does that mean Madhu will be free from her insecurities...nope someone else...something else might be the trigger ! Just imagine, if Madhu would have confronted RK, the first time after his drunken stupor and showed the reality of maya..it wouldn't have gotten dragged till here!! If we love someone, we need to be ready to fight for it.. We should be ready to walk till the world's end if required !! Now with the baby on the way..can Madhu be happy staying away from her only one love of life ! Well I know RK deserves punishment, guess only Madhu gets to decide what it actually is, as I believe it's we who take make the CHOICES in life !!Madhu can choose to be happy as happiness is a choice too !!Having said that, I also need destiny to second it lol !!So Dear TK...after writing this much and reading everyone's perspective, I realised it's just me who is seeing things more than required 😆..especially when it concerns to RK lol...pls help me...a tinge of hope probably to keep us going in this tough phase of fic-life 😆 !!
Reading this chapter, it really seemed a case of sometimes we love the wrong people, people who don't deserve our love.
sorry for hurting you through my words.🤗 I kinda agree with what you wrote...I just wanted to say that in my opinion, love is this weird thing that rarely has a connection with right or wrong.
Who is the "right person"? True love is so not rational. And that causes a lot of pain in this world. But when you love, the person becomes the right person for you. Sometimes, we are wrong, but mind had no vote in matters of the heart. Often, we are in pain, but some claim that the bliss of love is worth the probability of getting pain in the process.
I don't know.

Chapter 32
The clock struck 3 am, only adding to the anxiety of the four people sitting in the living room of Rishabh and Madhu's house. Rohan, Ria, Maya and Rishabh were each silently engulfed in their personal hells. Where was Madhu? Rishabh asked himself yet another time as he stared at the door of their house.
"I am going to go look for her." Rishabh stood up.
"But where will you go?" Rohan asked.
"I don't know. I can't keep sitting here. It's 3 am and my wife is all alone on the streets of Delhi. God knows where..." a wave of panic ran through RK's face.
"RK...calm down. We are all worried. But there's no point roaming around the streets in the middle of the night? We already looked around the area twice. Besides, eventually, Madhu will come home. You should be here when she comes home."
RK knew Rohan was saying the right thing, but the helplessness of the moment shook him as he sat back. "I should call Trishna again!" he muttered.
"You called her 15 minutes ago. Madhu is not there, and if she goes there, Trish would call." Rohan tried to explain.
"What if Madhu told her not to call? I am going to go there anyway and see for myself." RK said.
Before RK or Rohan had the chance to say anything else, Ria suddenly spoke up. She was staring intently at Maya for a while, who had been sitting in a corner away from the rest of them and had not said a word all night.
"You were there, weren't you?" Ria's tone was curt.
Maya looked up, realizing the question was directed at her. Her eyes were red, her face pale. Whatever alcohol she had consumed earlier in the evening had clearly wore off.
"Weren't you also there when Madhu came? Were you with RK at the time?" Ria continued.
"I...I umm" Maya struggled for words.
"Ria" Rohan spoke, but Ria cut him off "I am just trying to find out Rohan what happened. RK is not saying anything, and I am getting really worried. I think RK fought with her or something, or said something he shouldn't have that has hurt her so much. Otherwise why would she come all the way from New York and then leave like this. She was so excited, and to do this, something drastic had to happen and she's really hurt. You don't know Rohan...you didn't see Madhu when RK and Madhu broke up last year, but I did. I am scared for her. Only a few months ago her parents...and now whatever this is...since RK wouldn't say anything, you need to tell us Maya. What happened?"
No one said anything for a few moments, and Rohan saw Maya looking towards RK with pain in her eyes. RK himself was still staring at the door, not responding and looking at either of them.
"Ria...it's personal. Let it be. I know you're worried. But I am sure Madhu will come home soon. There's no point increasing RK's anxiety even more. Listen, come, you're tired, I'll drop you home. Neither of us are helping any more. On my way I will drop by Trishna's home as well and call you. RK, call me if anything changes, and I will come in the morning anyway."
Rohan stood up, and so did Ria. RK merely nodded.
"Maya, come, I will drop you as well." Rohan told Maya.
"I...I have my car. You leave. I will go." Maya replied.
"Sure?"
"Yeah"
A deathly silence descended in the house as Rohan and Ria left. After a few minutes, Maya hesitantly spoke up.
"RK..."
"Not now Maya. Go home please." RK said, without looking at her.
"About...about what happened outside...Madhu saw..."
"Let's not talk about it Maya. I...I don't even know what happened. We were talking about Madhu and I drank so much and...I don't know how...I don't remember. You were drunk too, right?"
"I..."Maya stuttered. RK finally stood up and faced Maya.
"I am sorry Maya. It was a mistake. I just...I got swayed in the moment or something I don't know. I didn't even realize what I was doing and that it was you. It was disrespectful to you. You're probably hurt too. I am really sorry. It didn't mean anything. I shouldn't have..."
"It's not your fault Rishabh." Maya suddenly said, tears in her eyes, making RK pause his blabbering. "You...you were drunk...maybe you don't remember. But I do. I need to confess the truth. I wasn't that high. I was the one who hugged you when you said you were missing Madhu on your birthday..."
"You were just trying to console me Maya. I crossed the line...I am so ashamed."
"I crossed the line too. When I held you in my arms, there was a moment, I looked in your eyes...and I forgot...I forgot everything. I was probably aware that you weren't yourself right then, that you didn't know what was happening. I chose...I chose to ignore it. I forgot everything...that you're married to Madhu...everything. I just wanted that one moment for myself. Just one moment to savor. I didn't think anything could happen. Or anyone would know. So I kissed you. And when you kissed me back, I...I...(sigh) I know it wasn't my kiss, but I wanted to have it. And then Madhu came and... I am so sorry RK...I am so so sorry..." Maya broke down, startling Rishabh, who gently caressed her shoulder to calm her back
"Why?" RK asked "Why would you...?"
"Because I love you RK. I know I shouldn't, but I can't help it. I have loved you so much for so long, but it was never the right moment to say it. And then I lost you. I tried, I really did, to stop loving you, but I can't. You're my best friend, you're the love of my life..."
"Maya!" RK was stunned at Maya's confession and took several steps back. Maya loved him? What? Since when? Why? But he never...Goddammit he was married to Madhu.
"I...I love Madhu, Maya. You know that. I am married to Madhu! How? When?...Why didn't you say something before..." RK said after a few moments, his voice laced with pain. Maya looked at him and saw nothing but a tinge of sympathy and bewilderment on RK's face. He didn't love her. She had always known that, and yet, there was this faint whiff of possibility maybe that her heart had kept alive. Probably, it was an illusion. RK cared for her. He also did love her, just not in the same way as she did. He loved her like his friend. But she realized that his true love was Madhu.
"It was too late. It was always...too late..."Maya gasped and sat down, overwhelmed by the emotion.
RK sat down too, on the other end of the room, uncertain how to process all the information he had just received. As much as he was pained seeing Maya's condition, his mind was still preoccupied with Madhu. RK closed his eyes. Madhu had seen Maya and RK kissing. Irrespective of the what and the why, RK knew that would have broken Madhu's heart. And it was his fault. Everything was his fault. Maya...how come he had never realized Maya's true feelings? He had broken not just Madhu's heart but Maya's too. Had he led her on, unintentionally, in some way? How would he ever face Madhu now, knowing that the girl he had kissed was not just any girl, was not just his friend, but was a girl who had feelings for him? How would he tell Madhu about what happened? What would she think? Would she believe him? He had to...
Tears were streaming down RK's cheeks. Suddenly he felt a finger on his cheek, wiping the tears off. He opened his eyes to see Maya kneeled down next to him. He could see pain in her eyes, and as much as he felt guilty for her predicament, he felt the urgency now more than before to find Madhu and explain everything to her. He couldn't help Maya right now. He just couldn't. RK stood up and faced away from Maya, going a few steps ahead.
"I think you need to leave now Maya. My wife will be home soon. I need to be with her"
Fresh, wordless tears rolled down Maya's eyes. "I am sorry RK...I am really sorry." She picked her bag and turned out to leave. As she reached the door, she heard RK say "I am sorry too".
********************************************************
Rohan had just sat down on his bed to get some shut-eye when his phone rang. There was no news at Trishna's. After that he had dropped Ria home, and had to spend considerable effort to calm her down. She was getting anxious by the minute for Madhu and kept saying to him that she was sure either RK or Maya or both of them had said something to Madhu because of which she had left. Rohan felt puzzled. His gut told me it had to be something serious. But what could have been so drastic that Madhu just left and hadn't come back. Probably RK and she had some fight, but she wasn't even in the house that long to have a proper fight. And Maya, why would Maya do anything? Ria kept saying Maya was too quiet, and Rohan too had felt that Maya was in her own world of pain, but it didn't seem plausible that she would say anything so hurtful to Madhu that Madhu would actually leave. Maybe she had just witnessed RK and Madhu's fight and was disturbed.
As his phone rang, Rohan saw RK's flashing. He thought that it was probably good news and Madhu must have come back as he answered, but was somewhat shocked to hear RK's broken voice on the phone. Was he crying?
"Rohan can you come here, please" RK spoke.
"RK? What happened? Are you ok? Is Madhu ok?"
"Can you please come home" was all he said before he hung up the phone. Rohan looked at the clock, it was 430 am. RK really was crying. Rohan hurried out of the bed and left for RK's place.
"What happened?" Rohan blurted as soon as RK opened the door. It was still dark outside, but the color of the night was nothing compared to the darkness in RK's eyes.
"Where is Madhu? Is she ok? Did she call? Is everything alright?"
"I don't know" was all RK said as he closed the door.
"Then what? What happened? What's wrong RK?"
"I...I kissed Maya." RK said, sitting down, unable to look straight at RK.
"What?" Rohan was shocked and outraged. "You kissed Maya? What the f**k is wrong with you? How could you? When?"
RK sat speechless, staring at the floor, tears clouding his vision. The guilt, the anxiety, the worry for Madhu, the weight of Maya's confession and the sheer force of helplessness had all killing him. He had to confess to Madhu. But he also needed a friend who could maybe help him make sense of the maze he was now lost inside. Where was Madhu?
"Wait a minute...is that why Madhu left? Did she see you..." Rohan continued in anger. RK looked up and as their eyes met, Rohan saw what he feared most.
"What the hell were you thinking? Oh God! Do you have any idea what Madhu would have gone through seeing something like that? So she just walked in on you making out with Maya, is it? How could you do that RK? I...I don't even words. She is your wife! Did you forget you're married?"
"No...I don't even remember how...it was a mistake...I was so drunk."
"Still! That's no excuse. Is that supposed to be a consolation for Madhu? What would you feel if you saw Madhu kissing someone else?" Rohan's words hit RK like daggers. But then, he deserved that, didn't he? Could he really imagine Madhu in someone else's arms, kissing someone else? Oh God no! Even the thought of sharing his Madhu with someone else made him want to throw up. She was his, only his. And he was supposed to be only hers. What had he done!
"Besides in the evening you said you're not drinking much any more. When you drink that much? Why? And even then, that's not the first time you've had alcohol. How could you not know what you were doing? And Maya, even if you were drunk, why did she not stop you?"
"Maya...Maya said she loves me"
"What? Maya said what? She loves you. What the hell does that mean?" Rohan's temper was through the roof. He felt betrayed by both his friends at this moment. Were they not the people he thought they were?
"I...I didn't know. She said she loves me and never got a chance to tell me"
"And that's why you kissed her?!?"
"No...she told me now. After you left. I had no idea...she was so hurt..."
"RK you're out of your mind. And so is Maya. Did both of you forget you're married to Madhu? (pause) Wait a second, do you love Maya as well?"
"No!" RK yelled as he stood up. "No no. Maya is my friend. That's it. I had no idea. I...it was a mistake Rohan. I did not want to cheat on my wife. I could never do that to my Madhu. I love her. But I don't know what happened. I was so drunk. And then later Maya said she didn't stop me because she loves me. I had no idea. I don't why this is happening. I asked Maya to leave, but I really don't know what to do now. Unintentionally, I have not only betrayed my wife who loves me more than anything in the world, but I have also hurt my friend. And I can't help her. I hate myself. Please understand Rohan. I just want my Madhu back Rohan."
"Don't look at me for sympathy RK. Maya...whatever she feels...it's not your responsibility if you did not know. But Madhu is. Especially if you really love her. And what you did...alcohol or not...you disgust me. You are not the man I thought you were. Do you realize this could kill Madhu?"
RK broke down and fell on the ground. Rohan was right. At the end of the day, it was his fault, and if anything happened to Madhu, he couldn't live either...
"I am sorry. I can't be here any longer. I am leaving." Rohan said and walked out of the door. He was way too outraged at both RK and Maya to be sane anymore.
The sun had been out for a while when Rohan left, but inside the house, only darkness prevailed. RK shut his eyes and let the pain wash over him. Rohan was right to hate him. Madhu was right to hate him. He hated himself like he had never hated anyone before. There was only one question on his mind...
Where was Madhu?
