i am Masters in literature, i know my Othello so well!! You need to have intelligence n layered thinking to do justice to such a iconic chr!! just becos he got a germ of an idea does not make Rudra an Othello! Sorry for sounding rude, but that interview where he said it is inspired by Othello really put me off!

i am not saying Shakespeare's Othello cannot be recreated. His themes are universal n suits any culture n any time. But i am sorry to say ST is not equipped to do justice to shakespeare.

Have you seen Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara? He dint make tall claims before releasing his movie. Evn his Othello ws not as layered as Shakespeare's. instead d way he indianised the story ws fantastic and his iago became our very own langda Tyagi (done superbly by Saif, no one wd have visualised urbane Saif in that rustic role!) Now that is intelligence! Evn his Macbeth ws fantastic and wht wonderful acting by tabu, pankaj kapur n irfan!

ST just uses different premise to showcase his violent n abusive hero n innocent n angelic heroine. it is JUST A PREMISE. we will soon get saas bahu in this also! Othello wd get his mom n desdemona her MIL!😆

i ws initially intrigued by his tall claims during MB, then Jaan (that curiousity u said was there then) bt not now. RR fans can be ready for heartbreak as Jaan n MB fans undergo.

i dont know whether d show RR will be a success or failure! who am i to predict! bt i can be assured ST is just a FAKE! ( i love this word!😆) He tries to show himself as intelligent bt he is not.

look at all his male chrs - angry, abusive, arrogant, violent (was raghu this bad? 😕 am not sure)

female - timid, simple, innocent, angelic,... did i leave out any adjectives

plot - hate turnign to love, violent love story, dark love story (n he has d gall to say it is one of a kind never done before!!)

if at all it becomes a hit it cd be becos of other factors not becos of ST's intelligence in using Othello plot. it cd be SI, or AS or their so-called chemistry (have not seen so no idea) or anything else. (i hope not! i knw mean of me!😃)

I have a feeling his childhood wasn't all gay and rosy...or he may have had such a dark,violent and abusive male character in his life!!🤔

i think he sure must have had. i mean not one show, all his shows feature such chrs. that is not really healthy. one show can be autobiographical not all shows. there shd be sthng sick in him to enjoy such pain. he must be masochistic!
