@bold: So true. Sadly, it is so much harder (whether in TV viewership, or regular consumer products and services) to win back a lost viewer/customer.

But these viewers will come back, as long as CVs maintain the core of the story in a positive way i.e., the relationship between the leads (and I personally feel like viewers will have an even lower tolerance for adding an extra-marital angle once the real wedding is complete.) After that, even the giving more air time to the peripheral characters will not have a damaging impact. And TRPs - that quantitative measure of viewer satisfaction with the show - would inch up slowly and steadily.

Nothing much to say, loved everyone's reviews.

To add literally two cents, I noticed amidst all the drama.

  • Sultan tells his henchmen...mujhe protection ki zaroorat nahin, tum log jao'...seemed like the biggest understatement of the year🤣, considering he has been gallivanting all over town, entering high security zones like he's on his evening walk.
  • I really like Radhaji these days, comes across as so dignified. I am happy that RK keeps her faith. She's like a normal mother...liked the way she refers to Sultan as 'woh ladka'...not 'woh aadmi'. Reminds me of my mom who calls everyone...that boy or girl, and I have to tell her...they are men and women, please do not call them boys/girls. Very cute touch.

1) I was like "Ae Le" Seriously what a whimsical Don ! Bodygaurds, disguises, Kaka, Real Dads, Sons, Enemies, Godowns, Love, everything happens in such a whimsical fashion as if he is visiting Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

2) Me too liked that "woh ladka" . It was so beautiful as this old and matured woman spoke of the person from her point of view as a boy, from his son's point of view as the Other Man...that Padmini was aghast...because she never respected Sultan as a man or a son...she treated him as an Angel in shot and hired as a Gangster at the second chance. Basically Sultan was becoming her servant, a help at her whimsical wishes. We could see his disgust at her frantic calls over his cell phone once he realizes what a fool he had been in imagining things for himself and also was leading himself to pit by listening to Padmini.

How do the creatives make such caricatures of these characters ?

The drunkard (Rashid) was drinking right on the pavement besides the Ganesha Temple. Is it even allowed that way ? Temples are always in places where all sorts of people come and around those places in alleyways, we have drunkards, addicts, ruffians, beggars. But never saw such Khullam Khulla Peena in CIVIC municipalities.

But the most poignant moment in the episode was in the first Rishbala scene, when Madhu started to plead in heartwrenching panic reminiscent of the dratted 'unwedding' fiasco and RK's expression changed, gradually thawing and softening as realization was finally unwittingly forced.

This was an excellent characterization ploy.
It would have been out of character for Madhu to defend herself by reminding RK of something that would further grieve him, especially when he was already anguished.
And with the wedding in less than a couple of hours, there was no time for him to vent for a few hours about her fault and then rationally realize on his own his fault as causative.
He needed to be reminded of the past swiftly.
What Madhu was unwilling to even think of doing deliberately, she inadvertently did as the terror that she would lose him yet again clawed at her with the same force that it had previously.
And her tormented fear of losing RK was an effective reminder, cutting through his own fresh anger and torment to remind of the past.

Kudos to DVD for managing with perfect expressions and nuancing to convey what is usually conveyed via the insertion of flashback scenes.
Outstanding finessed performance by both actors.

👏

Also, isn't this typically male? Show them aggression in an argument and they get double aggressive. Show them tears and their guilt and protective instincts are instantly awakened.

Some women have this ability to use their vulnerability to their advantage. Padmini is an expert at it and Madhu is her real daughter in that sense. Trishna does not have this talent at all, poor girl.

He changes his priorities in a blink of an eye - will use my son as a bait *snap* want to win the father of the year award *snap* yesterday's don, today's Robin Hood *snap* mad at Madhu *snap* in love with Madhu *snap* have to confess *snap* nursing heartbreak *snap* will save her *snap* forgot everything about her and lets find the drunken guy who might be my father *snap* FOUND HIM in 10mins!! Phew!! All this while, RK and Madhu and the rest of us are still contemplating - shaadi hogi ki nai hogi, aur itne main Sultan ki duniyaa hi badal gayi! 😕

Aritri, i told u , plz keep writing 😆 ur review was hilarious ..and the best 🤣
sachi, he's poori Mumbai mein high alert karake, he finds his father standing right behind him 🤣
Bittuji took the cake yest..i couldn't stop laughing on his "Chief aap shadi kar rahe hain na" 😃 n Radha ekdum se said "chalo Padmini ji sab bhool jaate hai, mandap mein chalte hain" 🤣
@CR , TRP's will not sky rocket all of a sudden..they have been on a decline since March..while at my mom's place, i noticed that few of my family members watch MB so i asked them do they watch it regularly? n my chachi said they watch it sometimes...and always see RK and Madhu fighting 😆 when she saw Madhu screaming at Sultan, she commented "abhi toh usse itna pyar se chipak rahi thi, ab kya hua" 😃 the wedding brought back audience but they are disappointed..even the loyal fans are..the story is not gripping anymore...i can't put my finger on what's missing...they wanted to create a suspense with the marriage but they cud not do it...Sultan is polluting the show 🤢 if this is the hatke style of storytelling then it's too much hatke..they need to do something else to bring the magic back...
