RK was too young when he fell for Dips. He had an unhappy adolescense where he had no one he could trust. His father was gone and his mom seemed content with her second husband and his son. So Dips seemed to be anchor he was missing in his life. As he said that he thought his life was finally settled and complete. When she ditched him, that anchor came off and his life become incomplete again. So in my opinion, what he had with Dips is not true love but some desperate attempt to anchor his rudderless life. Her act of ditching him has made him cynical about anything which is even remotely connected with love. What he feels for Madhu is the whole works. He is willing to go through any lengths to get her back in his life, even if it means keeping his ego in check and giving her what she wants. He definitely seems to know there is something cooking in that pretty little head of hers. Even if he comes to know she is planning to take revenge, I think he will let her plan but through his loving acts make her feel ashamed and guilty for going the ugly route he did. Madhu will not be able to go through with the revenge but Sultan and Dips are going to work (though not together) towards break duo up. Is their relationship strong enough to withstand the storm or are the roots too weak to do so?Only time and ST-GH can tell.
