I was never talking about all you guys. Well, unless you use the word senti. Then of course, I don't know why anyone would use it that way. That's just in bad taste. Other than that, I don't know why all of you feel targeted. This was about Drashti Dhami. You guys are taking this way too personally.

Yeah, where I come from, we make fun of the word Hella. Also, I speak very proper English and I find people who use the word hella quite funny. It's definitely a stupid word to be using. Also, I'm not talking about all Indians. Only those who use words like senti. Plus, I do find the manner in which Drashti speaks to be quite rude. It's in her tone as well.

Darling, whoever you are, your english is just about average...at least what i can gather from your posts in this thread...your grammer leaves a lot to be desired! To cite an example, you wrote "It's definitely a stupid word to be using" ..to be using!!! Thats bad grammer. The correct sentence is "Its definitely a stupid word to use." . Your tenses are all wrong.

I am not surprised your relatives back home find you and your children snobbish. Thats because you are the worst kind of diaspora...the ones that think just because you live in a developed country you know better English... If you lived in the UK, I would still give you the benefit of the doubt. Just so you know, Indians are acknowledged to speak better English than the English themselves because we are taught text book language and because there is an avid culture of reading english Classics in this country. Also, because the English today have a lot of parochial influences that dilute the pureness of their language. What the English think of the Americans and their accent is best left unsaid. And how badly spoken are American celebs...that too the less said the better!

The word "senti"... Given your alleged superior knowledge of English, ever heard of something called a "slang"? If not, allow me to educate you. Its used to describe words like aint, chillin, juiced, gonna, wanna, gal, etc" ( all common phrases found in the american pop culture) which just like "senti" arent part of the English language...At least senti is an abbreviation of sentimental...

Now coming to Drashti Dhami. The girl has no airs or attitude...but you sure do-a ridiculous narrow minded, petty one! What you think of her doesnt really matter coz I as a fan, wouldnt want her to have intolerant silly fans like you who think no end of themselves.

Well Drashti Dhami never appeared rude in any of her interviews, she was just bubbly and a happy-go-lucky girl who was so sweet. That's what I and LOVE about her

And you are hell bent on making us speak the proper English, When American's make a mistake in speaking English what then? Well that's because we all are human, we make mistakes
And we Indians speak English very well
And the "senti" thing!
You know we are not going to give an interview to Oxford Dictionaries' Team
We Indian as much I know are cool and relaxed about speaking English in ourselves, I don't care if the word is Senti or Sentimental or even mental. It's fine as it conveys the meaning
As per to me I have studied in my school that LAUNGUAGE is used to convey or express your feelings
There was nothing like that

"Rule: You have to speak always proper, if you don't you feelings will not be expressed"

We aren't cautious about speaking the proper English words while talking amongst ourselves
Because we use the Language to express out feelings and to convey our thoughts
Not to show how much knowledge we have about that language.
So Please, you know tha perfect English that's good don't interfare in what words we should use
P.s. Ever heard of Hinglish? What would you say about that, it's now a Language!
p.p.s. Thanks to you, because of your post Activity in the forum is increased!!
