Episode 268 Discussion: 10th May 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is

It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. It is entertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. We do not want to feel stifled into that kind of atmosphere here.

There are several other social welfare sites that are there to discuss the genuine issues. If for some reason, it is felt that social concerns have to be addressed and ethical and moral responsibility needs to be exercised for watching entertainment, then; certainly the forum is an open place to create separate ATs and build up that kind of propaganda.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread. Strong words such as psychopaths unless used in show, need not be used to instigate riotous atmosphere or start sermonizing.

POINTERS for Writing/Posting of your reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.
Regulate the font size. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters for no special reason.
The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating/whining/complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum.
When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.

Episode 268 discussion - EOD Summary

Madhu turns tables on Dipali, visits Sultan to apologize and thank him for his presence at the party, Dipali swears revenge

Events Of The Episode

1. Dipali confidently states that Madhu has accepted the truth that she met Sultan in the mall. RK urges Madhu to refute Dipali's claim. Madhu denies meeting Sultan in the mall. She states the half truth that she received Trishna's call. Dipali is stunned at Madhu's blatant lie. Madhu asks her to show the proof of this meeting. Dipali's attempt to get Sikki's support in her claim fails and he says he saw Sultan in the mall but not with Madhu. Madhu pounces on this and accuses Dipali that calling Sultan to the mall must be to set up Madhu just like she was set up during the party.

2. Sultan comes home and remembering RK's punch at the party when Aryan tries to tends to his injury in his own way. In RK mansion Dipali exclaims Madhu telling lie but Madhu says she is confident that Dipali can stoop to any level to hurt Madhu. Dipali explodes in anger but RK reminds her that they have only 8 hours to leave RK mansion. Sikki intervenes and admits that they made a mistake and bends at RK's feet for forgiveness. RK asks Sikki to seek Madhu's forgiveness and turns around towards Madhu but Madhu is not there anymore. RK rushes to the door calling her name and gets angry and frustred not finding her there anymore.

3. In Sultan's house, he is tending to his own injuries again remembering his insults at RK's party when Madhu comes there and offers help to tend his wounds. Sultan is angry and questions the reason behind her presence. She offers that she is there to apologize on RK's behalf. Sultan tells her not to find excuses for RK's behavior. He tells he feels bad that RK treated Madhu badly at the party. He further questions that knowing RK's reaction about Sultan why did she invite Sultan to the party at all? He tells when on the phone she had told him that msg was not from her, then what was the reason for insistance that he come to the party? Madhu has no answer to this.

4. In RK mansion, Bittuji is unsuccessful in reaching Madhu over the phone. RK calmly tells not to call anyone. He tells Madhu wants to be alone, she left because RK was caught in Sikki-Dipali's web of lies and got suspicious about Madhu and she will be back when she is ready. Sikki falls at Radhaji's feet asking for forgiveness. Radhaji is upset with Dipali and sunaofies her that if she knew about Dipali's deviousness earlier, she would have thrown Dipali out herself much before. Dipali fumes at Madhu and swears that she has accepted her challenge and is ready to expose Madhu and her lie in front of everybody.

5. In Sultan's house, Madhu asks for forgiveness for what happened at the party and at the same time thanks him for coming to the party. She further questions him, why he called and how he knew something wrong was about to happen. Sultan just bluffs and says he knows that Madhu is a self reliant girl and judged that someone else must have written that msg. Madhu again thanks him for calling her back after getting the msg. When she tries to leave, Sultan confronts her demanding anwers about what is going on here.

Thats it 😲😭, I think i need to wash my hands off Madhu😡. After today she does not have any right to get up on any moral pedistal, for not only she blatently lied,( in fact she should have had guts to say yes like diplai and covered saying he too came, i did not call or somethink to that efect) and even if i can forgive her that lie, for he to run to Sultan to ask for forgiveness😡😡😡... i have stopped after seeing her there.

May be after i read the other review i may catch teh rest during the repeat telcast

And what are the CVs doing butchering evrey charecter in teh name of expecting the unexpected. are they really intrested in taking this show beyound the 1st year or not?🤢

1)thank god sultan knew that it wasnt madhu's msg n called her back to confirm...so basically sultan has thoda thoda brain still active...gud!👏

2)madhu has started super bit*h business...gud for her...how did she grow brains in one night i still cant figure out...is there a market near sultan's house where they sell brains??😆😆

Madhu lied. A full on complete on the face lie. She mixed small morsels of truth with a whole spoonful of lies and fed it to RK and Radhaji who swallowed it without any hesitation. I can't believe it. And then if that is not enough she goes to Sultan's house after that and discloses that she was the one who invited Sultan even after Sultan confirms with her that she did not send the message. It was all a huge plan.

Brilliant plan Madhu. And phenomenal acting. She is sure to win all the Oscars, bhaskars, and every other award out there.

Dipali -- my full support. Stop Madhu before its too late for her. But I wonder, isn't it already?

WOW ! a BIG wala WOW to Madhu...i'm confused now, the person who INVITES the abuse , the domestic violence, what should we call them ? Bravo Madhu ! 👏 CR, didn't I say that Satyabala jhoot bhi bolegi toh sach lagega? 😆

can't believe what I saw, I was such a big fool to think from her perspective 🤢 She is plotting against RK by using Sultan 🤢 and what was her motive to invite him to the party ? to gain RK's trust right? Dips bhi out...ek teer and many nishane...didn't i say there's something fishy in her behavior? that she didn't react to RK's allegations? otherwise jhoot hi sahi, she wud have sunaofied him a lecture or curse at least...like she did when RK accused her after her sleepovers...

Soundarya, you were bang on my friend 👏 Madhu DID went to Sultan for apologies..but I didn't hate Sultan today, I liked him...I liked what he said about RK and he has no idea of what's going on in Madhu's head... and here you are..bharatiya nari..now the westerners will know that our Indian women are as progressive as them...why not? itni raat ko visiting her gangster friend to nurse him..👏 and then they say the husband should keep his mouth shut and trust his wife and not question him even in private bec. it's against her self respect to answer such questions right? 🤢

Madhu LIED to everyone about her meeting with Sultan 😆 Dipali was dumbstruck 🤣 and I was dumbstruck when I heard that Madhu invited Sultan on purpose and get herself humiliated ! 😲 good planning Vampbala ! now she's truly equal to RK..in kameenapanti, scheming...I feel sorry for not believing my friends 😭 plz Madhubala, from now on, not a word of morality from you 😡 get over it ! you're as big a kameena as RK ...actually i'm feeling good, i won't feel guilty in supporting RK ..

liked RK's scene with his family...RK gave Madhu some "time" 😆 and he's sure Madhu will be back...Sounds, he didn't inform the police this time 🤣

And the downward spiral continues... Madhu officially turned grey with her first lie...Everyone has decided to get to down in trenches and play dirty...It is all out war now...though I am still trying to figure out what the prize is. My instinct was to cry ...to weep for Rishbala season one...the lost innocence and the sweet moments but then something about Madhu's attitude in today's episode stuck me odd. She seemed to really mean business when she defended RK...odd isn't. Please bear with me while I walk you through my latest theory that has been cooked up to keep me sane until CVs once again prove me wrong...

As I saw the episode...I kept wondering if Madhu is Padmini's true child or is she Ballu's child? I kept wondering why she has never once denied that she loves RK even in front of Trishna. What happened in that few hours that changed her mind and she went from disgust to fake love. She was so mad at Sultan for pointing a gun at her husband that she even touched on the taboo subject of his wife then why does she keep encouraging Sultan. Everyone keeps telling me that RK has managed to finally turn Madhu evil...he or anyone for that matter is incapable of doing that...either Madhu is capable of evil or not...from all we have seen she is not (unless all that was fake too). Our general behaviour, the way we think is very instinctive and our childhood based and it does not change easily...it is not something that an incident can change. It is like being told that God exists...You can be atheist and a string of bad luck can make you question your faith but your instinct is always to believe. It takes a lot of work and constant conditioning to change that behaviour. She has been brought up with sanskars by her parents then how is that she never feels the twinge that she is supposed to when she manipulates, how does she justify the revenge in her own mind? She has been taught to forgive and help even a stranger...she even forgave Mukund when he ditched her.She is no actor...how will she keep facade in front of a seasoned actor 24-7? The quick answer to that question is because it is no facade .. If RK presented falsehood of his feelings as truth then Madhu is going present the truth of her feelings as lies.

As I thought about it...I realized RK practically confessed to her while telling the story though he did not use the right words. Even Bittuji confirmed what he said but his fears and insecurity keeps taking over. RK was betrayed first time when he was a child...he lost faith in everything. It is not that he does not want to trust...he is incapable of trusting...In any scenario he looks at the worst case and assumes he is being betrayed again and reacts. His perceived betrayal by his mother and later girlfriend has only added to his fears over years. He learnt to keep odds of betrayal at minimum by maintaining an iron clad control on his environment by his power, fame, money, intelligence emotional blackmail and underhanded methods. It is a quite a conundrum because he is unable to respect anyone who he controls but he percieves any opposition as betrayal and comes down on that person with full force. So in short- either you are his minion or enemy. How is a lover and wife to fit in his defination of relationship...she cannot be his minion...she needs respect as equal but she is no enemy. He tests his loved ones but he cheats because all the tests are designed to make the other person fail thus confirming to him that they are betraying him. He needs to be taught that there is a third way...people cannot be controlled but that does not mean they don't love you.

I think that is what Madhu is shooting for and that is what grey Madhu is about. He need to be put in position that tests his assumptions and he needs to fail again and again until he has been conditioned to change his assumption. All the people that play on his insecurities and make him more paranoid have to be neutralized...

1)She proved him wrong when she made the terrace jump. He had expected her to laugh it off and walk away giving him a chance to point a finger at her and blame her with betrayal ...she proved ...she considered him worth dying for...she is not scared to have her love tested even if the test is insane...the result...he questioned his methods and his assumption for the first time . His fear allowed him to convey how he would have suffered in her death...in those few moments his ego had vanished ...he was just a scared husband holding onto his wife. He is still testing her at some level...but he is opening up to the idea maybe she is trustworthy.

2)Today she neutralized Dips and once again proved RK wrong...Dips was spot on when she said if she spoke the truth...truth would win but the person standing with truth would loose...Madhu who was two minded and ready to accept truth until that moment gritted her teeth and spoke lie for greater good...After the terrace accident RK was ready to accept her version more readily than before so there is some progress there. She proved RK's assumption wrong that she called Sultan...the result.. Dip's truth was finally out...RK will never trust Sikky or Dips easily again...RK was again left questioning his lack of faith, his methods, consequences of his actions and his assumptions...for the first time he actually gave Madhu space...instead of running after her and forcing her back home...he asked everyone to wait until she returns. I found it interesting that he put a stop to the search when Bittuji wanted to call Paddy. Does RK still feel the need of Paddy's approval and wants to make sure that she sees him as a worthy and responsible husband and not hurt Padddy yet again with the news of his latest shennennigan or his ego hurt at the thought that he was once again reduced to looking for his wife and had to reach out to his inlaws for help. My guess is he does not expect her to return easily now...but when she does so in tomorrow' episode...she will yet again leave him confused.

This is a fight between distrust/selfishness denoted by Dips and Love/Trust/selflessness denoted by Madhu. The prize is RK's humanity. Madhu does not know if she will win given that even RK is fighting against her but she is trying. She does not know at the end of all this ...what will be the status of this relationship but she is forging ahead. I have a feeling she just wants to heal him and the leave him after that.

On a different note while I hated how Madhu used Sultan...I think she did good in some ways ...she is so focussed on RK that every means justify the end. I do hope that she shares her plan and reasoning with Sultan and he helps her out. If not ...at some point he will become a true antagonist given that he is getting obsessed with her.

It is always a pleasure to see a grey female lead...we are going to see a lot of mind games in coming weeks with Dips trying to play spoilsport. For now regardless of Madhu's motivations...the war just became even more uglier and ever more bloody.

I like this Madhu. She knows how to play the game. She has RK all twisted around her finger. What an irony from the time RK had Madhu dancing to his tunes! RK has only himself to blame for this new Madhu. I feel this Madhu is still true to what her heart dictates. Seems to me her heart is no longer with RK. With RK its her head that commands her actions now. Thats what I feel.

Khaaya piya kuch nahi glass toda baara aana, suits GHG Sullu so much today. Got called to a party by special request from Madhu to get slapped from her husband😆

So, Madhu can lie thru her teeth. Up until now all her lies were by omission. But she took a step forward today. So, as expected she ran to Sullu to explain him. Anyway, now that it is known that she called him it makes sense. Thank God, they didn't show Madhu nursing Sultan's miniscal wound. That would have been disgusting🤢

Wonder what is her plan and when is this whole revenge drama ending. I am sure she is going to involve/ tell Sultan about her plans. But will we be priviliged enough to know her plans?

With each episode I am loosing hope on any positivity returning to the serial I don't mind Madhu truning gray as long as she does not speak of sanskaar, maryaada, maafi etc. Now lets see how she plays and as and when the dupataa comes into play.
